Man owning Chevy Truck has been one of my wants for a very long time. And having a 396 or 454 Big Blook in it. After watching you, I have to make that happen after I get my wife's truck done. Only the Hub stores carry the old skool parts. You can get 20% off ordering local parts online or you can get a corporate account or business account and get a bigger discount at your local stores.
Thanks for the info. I do shop at the local parts stores and have good friends there. I get the prices of the bigger accounts. My greatest success come from online shopping, prices are sometimes 30% less. That being said, I promote online to my viewers that are Building on a Budget like my self. Even with that I have problems with online sometimes to.
The roads and stuff have gotten better the past day or so here. I'm going to the post office to inquire about shipping on that front bumper. See of they gotta box or if I can take a whole roll of syran wrap and some bubble wrap for the corners and slap a shipping label on it. Make sure itll be wrapped up good for you. Take into consideration that the Big Box stores have to pay employees, employee benefits and other overhead. Its a little higher but it really supports the local auto parts store employees to have a job. I usually pick 1 store that I like the people at and then I only shop there when I can. I can usually get one of the employees to use their employee discount too!... I'm a Carquest, Napa guy. Always had bad luck with orileys and Advanced Auto.
I would change both oil pump and pickup tube. Best to anyways cause you don't wanna have to drop that pan again once its in the truck. But I have reused them before but depending upon miles.
That was the plan but I don't have 2 to 3 days to wait for a non function part. It's only a tube with a metal screen. A good bath and blow out. I'm calling it good. BUT if available, I would have changed it. I guess I could ordered it with pump. My badd
Totally agree. I can understand not having unpopular parts in stock. But it's the high price they charge. If you want to be competitive, be competitive. If you want me to just buy elsewhere, keep holding on to those high prices.
Like your vids man, I have a 86 Chevy k20 single cab long bed Im slowly working on redoing had it down to bare frame, Also was an outside yard build anything possible, keep it up!
Out door builds has been my way of doing things. I've could've had a shop but couldn't afford one at the time. At 63 it time to go camping and enjoying life. And that don't consist of making a bill. Thanks for your support and would love to see your project one day

I've welded certain types of cast. For me pre heating the cast with a hand torch helps plus draws any moisture out of the cast iron.
