Monsieur Nadeau-Dubois, are you saying that you will vote NO to a PQ referendum just because it doen't correspond to what you want to put forward? If it's the case, it means that you will always be against independance because we all know that QS will never be in the government seat.

Putting their social project before sovereignty is putting their point of view before democracy. The people should decide for itself, but only if it decides the way QS agrees with. If not, then the Québécois people shouldn't decide for themselves.
As an Anglo voter, we really have little to no party we can vote for. The PQ, QS, and CAQ are all separatist parties (the caq may not have it in their platform, but they are as separatist as the other two recognized parties). That leaves us with the liberals, who have historically hurt us as well.
Independance is for everybody. I know anglos who vote for the PQ and want independance. Becoming a country is not a question of splitting anglos from the francos. We just want to decide by ourselve for cultural reason (french is in decline) but also and mostly for economic reasons.
1995 referendum was 50/50. When you flag a political party over this simple question you disrespect all-around democracy and all the voters who make their due diligence over the seperation of Québec and you don't.

Enjoyed the pod cast and Mr. Gabriel Nadois-Dubois. The school lunches are a good idea, they would be a great idea if they were metabolically nutritious rather than a collection of carbohydrates calling themselves a meal.

Mr Nadeau Dubois speaks a lot of about first nations, however they are predominately English or Native language speakers. Does he feel that they too should be speaking French?
QS and Nadeau-Dubois would say that they would encourage them to learn their native language first, then open gates to learn French for more interaction with Francophones. Anglo-natives are next to the US border( Mohawks) and Northern Quebec( Some Innu) where they don t have much interactions with Francophones. So I guess it will remain like that for generations while others First Nation will know French. Here an exception with Miqma nation where it seems to be be fifty-fyfty between French and English. ( close from New Brunswick)

I would personnally encourage every Quebecois to learn at least some words of the First Nations living next to them, and I guess QS would be open to it. We use to know a lot in the past when we were trading together. Kayak, canoe, rabaska, anorak, parka, caribou, ouananiche come from that era. Quebec could give more rights to them than Canada, and work as equal economic partner. And we alredy strated it at some points. It an important issu.

Isnt the anglo vote changing tho? Cause even though it sadly remains massively pro-PLQ, the vote for it in Montréal in general went from 50-70% to 30-50%. They still win but they still lost like 20 points that went elsewhere

I came to canada in the late 70s with the ability to speak italian and french, withing a ahoet period learning english. Due to the whining, politics nd policies in quebec, wifh the federal government continuously pandering to quebec, i refuse to speak french, it is my personal rebellion against a privince that receives far more than it gives. I sont object ro aeparation, nut it has to be a true separation. You own currency, social infrastructure amd currency. My family in quebec always feels marginalized and maligned by the francophone mentality. Every time the separation question comes up aomebody from quebec goes to ottawa with an open hand. I’m souverainiste. René Lévesque agreed to give Anglo-Quebecois a special status because of your historical contribution,: we built the nation together. And I agree with that. You have rights like sending your kids in English, that I don t have as Francophones. You have your own hospitals and universities. Lucien Bouchard, former PQ leader, has an Anglo wife, our greatest stand up actor Yvon Deschamps as well. So there is an historical strong voice for Anglos rights among souverainistes. But I noticed in the last ten years that the René Lévesque will for Anglo-Quebecois is fading away in the souverainiste movement,(but not in QS) In PQ, it is fifty-fifty I would say, and CAQ is not souverainiste but do more damages than any other political parties before it, to please some Francos. It s a very bad populist moves. They try to solve complex situations with simplistic solutions. ( because Legault is that dumm) Anyway, with QS or PQ, I would always fight for your communities to have your rights and instituons, and the same for First Nations. I believe that we can be stronger together in a Quebec , Country, with less fights, that living next to each other in Canada. But I understand if you and many Anglo-Quebecois doubt about it. Ex Montrealer living in Sydney Australia. Why is he on this show? Does he expect Anglophones to vote for him? Do Anglos vote for anyone but the Libs?
I mean, even if no one in the anglophone comminuty would vote for him, which is not the case, he should participate to these so he can convince or promote QS ideas. How can you reach people by segrating your message . If QS only spoke to thier ''clientele'' they would always speak to 18- 35 years old and never to boomers. Just like ''why liberals are having french debates if they only have 3 % of thier votes at the moment (which is in the margin of error of the polls lol).
First off all i think it's great that the Gazette's CORNER BOOTH podcast seems to reach out to speak to serious party political leaders. And i'm happy to watch them. 🙂 Kudos for this one with QS and the previous with the PQ. It's a great opportunity to discuss political ideas and touch base with the anglo community and get a better feel for the parties and leaders and their vissions on Quebec issues. I'm glad to see it.
The provincial conservatives is starting to get traction with anglos but it's still a young, small party
