    When i was a little kid, my dad use to take me down to the construction sight to watch them build the CN Tower, i'll never forget that, RIP DAD.

    My dad would take me down at different times as an eight/ nine year old to show me the towers progress and then take me to McDonalds…. Miss those days and especially my dad who died in 77 in a construction accident…. Go figure. R.I.P.

    I remember when i was a kid, me and my father watched this while eating ice cream. He always promised we would go there together some day. Sadly he passed away a few years ago and we never went. This has been my favorite documentary ever since, RIP Dad.

    Remember watching this documentary on the old floor model TV set on CBC ( I think ) when I was a kid in the late 70’s! Fantastic memories! 🙂🙂

    At the beginning I was visiting the observation room I think that was in 1977 I'm not sur but I remember the restorant was not finish yet and not open.

    I believe that the magnificent CN Tower was the worlds tallest free standing structure until being surpassed by the babulous Burj Khalifa, which I have had the pleasure of visiting.

    Toronto needs to step up their game and regain the record either by building a new tower and or adding on to the CN tower to make it larger so that it can be made taller. Might as well shoot for over a kilometer.

      They would have to add 446 metres to it for it to reach a kilometre. That's almost double its current height.

    I was working the box office for the Toronto Blues Festival on the island when they were working on the restaurant area . A couple of gals from Chicago were asking me about it and I told them it was going to be a revolving MacDonalds restaurant . They believed me .

    Wonderful film full of memories for me. I grew up in Toronto and saw all of this happening. A guy I worked with at the time won a new Honda Civic for correctly guessing the time of the final concrete pour...great guess but, terrible car back then!

    The tower was completed when I was 17 and our family went up to the observation deck. When i was 20, I worked at Sparkles Disco, a short-lived club at the top. I went for dinner at the 360 in 1986 and have not been up since. Like City Hall, it is a Toronto icon.

      By Quite a lot! It was the tallest free-standing structure in the world until the Burj Khalifa was built in 2010.
