    Good job Jason. Agree completely. Bought mine last year and was so impressed immediately that I sold a couple of Lone Wolfs and gave away a couple other stands. I’m 65 now and this stand is helping add years to my hang and hunt method. My best hunting buddy bought one too. Didn’t even hesitate. We hunt IN the tree stand almost four months each fall so we get our moneys worth. Good Hunting

    Just tell the complainers that the built-in flexibility of the platform is because the stand is earthquake compliant. You can hunt up to a magnitude 6.0.
    Very insightful and helpful review. I hunt the steep and rugged river hills and a stand like this would make life a lot easier. Just walking in and out can kick a person's butt and having to drag around heavy equipment only adds to problem. I may have to try out one of these stands for next season.

    Luv your videos!!! We have different hunting styles and requirements of our equipment but your videos are VERY thorough and cover every base needed to make an informed, educated decision when spending our hard earned money.
    So about this stand. I can’t bring myself to buy one for the sole reason that for me the profile and size of its footprint is just to big for me. The money doesn’t scare me cuz I will buy what’s best for my needs no matter the cost. I will sacrifice and save and pinch until I can afford it. I think if all things considered and functions are very comparable then $200 isn’t gonna be deciding factor. Example had Novix kept Helo around $200-250 then it’s justifiable for the savings as the functions are very close but now buy the best stand for your needs cuz they aren’t so far apart $$$ wise now. The “FLEX” factor for me is see as guys complaining cuz they’ve spent $600 and are thinking it has to be literally perfect due to money spent. What they don’t realize is most are coming from the cast world and they are buying a water jetted/machined stand for the first time. Cast doesn’t flex much like you said if it did you’d break it. They old find a lwcg 1.0 flex’s a lot too as compared to their Assault cuz it’s an engineering thing aluminum platform this light is gonna flex it’s the trade off. It’s a mental barrier and a tough hurdle for some guys and an easy nit pick. Now if your 250+lbs and the flex gives you some sorta feeling I get it your most likely pushing the limits of the stands capacities. Now know that the ratings are for say 300lbs but in testing that most likely could hold 1000-1500lb commonly. You wanna complain about $625 and seats a little thin or doesn’t come with quality shoulder straps I’ll listen to you a bit but the actual hunting functions are TOP notch on this stand. I wish they made on with smaller footprint I’d be looking hard at buying one and this is just a personal preference on my side.

      Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the videos and appreciate this detailed comment. Dan does have a smaller size version of thos stand in the works. Not sure on release date but it's in the works. You nailed it when you said find the stand that best fits your needs.

      I’m really stuck myself at the moment between saddles, hang n hunt loc on’s and my trusty climber. I live u here Maine and our rut hunts are mainly gun hunts unless your on the coast and truly as most hunters here in the northeast we are “Trackers” at hart!!! Now I’ll will preface that with I’ve bow hunted since I was 16yrs old and actually worked as a bow hunting guide for 8yrs in Iowa at a very high end operation so I’m not just a “Tracker”. While covering the miles and miles I cover chasing big woods bucks I’m constantly finding spots and saying geez if a hunter was to just sit here they would shoot a monster for sure. Now my Dad NOT a tracker at all has greatly benefited from this and has killed multiple monsters sitting in some of those spots. I have a climber but set up to hunt with all my gear and extra cloths weights in at around 45lbs. More importantly it’s totally cumbersome walking through the woods!!! I have all but written it off and would almost rather sit on ground even though it’s SO comfortable to sit in. This is where my dilemma comes into play between saddle and hang n hunt. I want the saddle to work so badly as walking in with just a saddle and a few sticks will be easy but after buying one and having set it up a dozen times now I have my misgivings about it. Walked in 3 miles two weeks ago setup, broke down and made a two mile loop out in same time it would have taken to walk in with my climber. Now not many people up here hunt from saddles so being able to try one before buying one isn’t really an option. I did pick up an old school WindWalker stand for $20 on Craigslist a bit ago and this is more my style!!! Super small, super light stand. Got a feeling I’m gonna end up with some hybrid system where I will most likely sell my hunting saddle and go to cheap climbing harness or a safety harness like your video showed from tacta saddle. That could be used in a hybrid fashion I think this old dog is to set in my ways!!! That’s why beast stand intrigues me much the same as the lwcg .5 and now more so the .75. I like the helo but if price keeps heading where it’s going the options on lwcg and beast stands I believe are better. A smaller beast stand might be the best option if one comes out.

    Hey Jason, have watched this video probably 20 times, studying the details of how you have your stand setup and how you set it in the tree. Mine came a month early, am so excited, will be "hybreding", using my saddle as my harness, best of both world in my opinion. Stand up and lean back in the saddle or turn and sit for rest in a lengthly sit. with gear, clothes and everything I'm probably close to 260 lbs, still have a "healthy" fear of the heights however, the flex doesn't bother me as much as I thought. will be using it on a lot more "all day" hunts using my ebike to get back far into the woods. anyway, keep up the videos, it is obvious you know what you are doing.

    Interesting how much you praise the antler bracket. I know for myself and a ton of members on saddlehunter, the bracket noise issues were a huge problem all season long. As a matter of fact, for myself, it cost me a great opportunity later in the season when I went to stand up and it made a noise. The teeth of the bracket bite too much into the tree, and the intense pressure thats on each antler point in the tree makes the squawks and squeaks when I moved around. It wasn't every tree, but it was a problem that persisted all season. This was both the original bracket and the upgraded one. I took that piece of junk off and replaced it with the LW alpha bracket. Otherwise great review and I felt the same for most everything else.
    Also, not sure if you know but dan released the premium version of the seat which I've heard is much more comfortable than the original.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 года назад +5

      I love love love the antler bracket and it has never made a noise for me. But I also chamfer mine and know how to set a stand solid without doing that toe flip cam thing people do. So in my opinion any problem with the antler bracket is self inflicted. I have hung it almost 100 times in 4 states this year in every kind of tree there is. If it made noise I would not use it.

    • @marchuffman8266
      @marchuffman8266 2 года назад

      Yup, no secret the antler bracket needs to be filed.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 года назад +2

      @@Brian-R all I can yell you is what I do. I chamfer all my stands. Have for 15 years. Chamfer bracket and platform teeth. I do not use the toe grab and tip to set method. Since I have the Chambers I just stomp set it. Has served me well for 15 years. So what you call "definitely " an issue I'm telling you does not effect me. And self inflicted I mean they are hanging it differently than I am. If I can hang it 90 times last year without an issue then obviously how I'm doing it works. Look at 90% of people's set ups today on social. Straps at stupid angles, rope mods with so much slack they are straight up dangerous, etc. People cam setting stands so hard they are bending seat posts. It just goes on and on. The internet, especially forums are not always right or even smart. Or the guy that bent his beast stand platform and said he was just standing on it. Bs!!! In this video look what I'm doing jumping all over it repeatedly and nothing! I don't trust 1/10 of the crap I hear on the internet. So all I can tell you us I hunt a whole lot and hang this stand a whole lot and I never once had an issue. If I did I would rectify it immediately or get a different stand. With this beast stand I never worry about noise at all. Just my experience and my opinion. But if it works so good for me I can only surmise any issue others are having is do to not using it like I do. Plain and simple. Cause my way works perfectly.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 года назад

      @@Brian-R also I don't chamfer it to make it quiet. I chamfer all my stands so that I can set them fast and easy and safe. This is simple engineering. Nicking the sharp corner off the bracket and the platform allows the stand to slide and set perfectly with a stomp. Like I demonstrated in this video. Not that knee on the seat toe hook crap I see many people doing that would put so much insane pressure on the strap and seat post that's un called for and frankly in my opion is a dangerous way to set a stand.

    Hey Jason, finally was able to get in line for a Beast Stand. Should be here next month. Anyway, exactly what is the purpose of the 2nd "versa" button? How would someone use the 2nd strap? can't seem to find any instructions about using the 2nd strap. Appreciate your videos, they are a great help.

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 года назад

      You will love the beast stand! The bottom versa and strap is to prevent kickout. That's all it does. It's not weight bearing. You set the stand with the top strap and cam it down good on the tree then add the second strap to make sure the platform can't move on the tree left or right.

      @@SamkoTradBow I get my lock on stand made at a fab shop here in my town. Just pick up 4 stands for 200 and made the way I like them. Yes they are 14 pounds but I hunt out of them like one that is 6 pounds. Never had any problems killing a big buck and five doe’s for years.

    • @robertmyers7542
      @robertmyers7542 Год назад

      Bud Brown….it’s for mobile hunters! No one is buying 4 of these set ups, this is for mobile, moving, chasing, move 25 yards or move 50 miles in the same day hunting quickly and efficiently as well as covering massive amounts of ground on the fly. HB tactics, you seldom hunt the same tree twice in one season style hunting. On the very rare occasion it’s left overnight to go back in the morning, thennnn, move again. I have 43 $50 stands and they all go on private places and most get moved after 2 sits, even if it’s only 10-20 yards. Good luck sir! 😉

    I think the stand is decent for anyone under 200lbs but when you are heavier the flex is too much. I believe over time it will bend and has for some guys already. Really should be a 200lb max capacity stand. The L bracket under the seat will bend if you have too much weight as well, again is already happening to people. Decent review but I think your assessment is a hair biased and your only 190lbs. There are far better options for less money

    • @SamkoTradBow
      @SamkoTradBow  2 года назад +2

      All i can reference is how the stand is for me. I LOVE this stand. And for me There is no better stand at any price. If there was I would be using it. I hang about 100 stands a season. every little detail matters to me. This stand checks all those boxes better than any stand out there. I LOVE IT! So for me I highly disagree with your statement that there are "far better stands for less money" statement. In my opinion (again as someone who hangs more stands in a season than most people will in 5 seasons) this stand is as good as it gets in any price range.
