If we assume that liens are smarter than humans, does that mean they have the power do things prohibited by the laws of nature?

You made a good point at the end, something i will never understand about these so called truth seekers: Why don't they seek truth, but try to find evidence for "the truth" they already know about? Very confusing.

If the UFO numpties knew anything about the technology we do have, they would realise there’s nothing the (hypothetical) aliens can do that we can’t.

The true believers always find a way around the laws of physics. They bring up some kind of special hypothesis/theory where something is possible but very improbable or they basically invoke miracles by comparing the aliens to spirits or angels! It is a religion, no doubt about that.
