  • Bryson City North Carolina. Franklin NC & Cherokee NC.
We stop at some great food spots, & the NOC. I've been asked to include that this spot at NOC by the bridge is on the Appalachian trail. if you're familiar with the AT blaze markers you'll see them on each side of the bridge. The area welcomes walk ins.
Just North of the bridge is a modest (Dry) bunkhouse.
Also a motel and restaurant as well. This area is one of the harder areas on the trail so this information is appreciated.
    Thanks for the info.

May I please add that this is where the Appalachian Trail crosses the Nantahala River, so "walk-ins are welcome"

      Absolutely 💯
If you can be more specific...
I'll add it to the description. Are you speaking of the NOC as a whole?
The entire area from Bryson to Franklin is always so welcoming to the hikers.
Feel free to email or message me directly.
      Glad to help.

@@tifftraveledwhatsnext the pedestrian bridge just downriver from NOC is the actual Appalachian Trail. The famous AT blaze is on posts on either end of the bridge to guide the hikers. Just north of the bridge are the modest (but dry) bunkhouses found along the trail, but people have shared this with me, that there is now a restaurant and a motel in that area also, a good place for them, because many have shared with me that this is the toughest section of the trail due to the extreme elevation changes!

You let people know here and I appreciate it.😊
I'll add it to the description and in the future I'll include that information in my videos of the area. @@davidmiddlebrooks5615
