Are you able to make a video on having anxiety looking at your bank acc? When I got demoted from my job I avoided looking at my account and it became a habit that I didn’t see the damage I was doing and the purchases I wasn’t aware of which caused me not to be in control of my money. My 2022 goal was to overcome my fear looking at my acc and it’s been baby steps but boOoy what a change that has made I held back on purchases, saved more money and avoided racking up debt.
I use a combo of the percentage along with zero based budget. My % categories are 30% long term savings (retirement, & emergency fund), 2% donate, 50% needs and 18% wants.
My family is a "pay yourself first/zero based" budget family. Sometimes zero based works and sometimes it doesn't, but I feel we always fall back on it.
