Brother Mason just described my journey. My husband apostatized, because he learned things about prophets that resonated with him. I have never agreed with any of those things that resonate with him, but because there is a undeniable co-dependence in family and marriage, his beliefs affected me, even though I don’t believe them.
I lost a job that was 3 miles from my home and replaced it with a job that was 25 miles from my home. On my commute, I started listening to Conference talks and it filled my soul with sweet peace and drove out those lingering doubts caused by that co-dependence (that I didn’t choose). I pushed those ideas out, but filling my heart, mind and soul with continual words that were spoken from hearts seeking to teach of the love of our Savior, teaching by the Spirit from their hearts to mine, filled my house with the Spirit of God, and healed my heart and soul. And Brother Mason, through the parable of the house and evil spirit, just described exactly what I experienced.
This shows me that God is aware of my life and home and situation. I’ve been told that in blessings and now this is a manifested experience. Thank you for listening to the Spirit to teach this part to me.

If your husband is committing adultery, fornication, theft, fraud, or physical violence, I'd be concerned.

@@anthonyrippa686 I agree, but to my knowledge, he is not. My approach for his choices is, “God is his judge.”

Wow, amazing talk. I’m am grateful the stake leaders had the cottage to allow this kind of discourse on an official level. A pertinent and critical discussion for the current state of things.

My husband and I are in our early 70s. As we have listened to these talks about faith, we are in complete agreement. I really enjoyed Marni Larson's post on this feed. Keeping our homes filled with Latter-Day inspiring revelation through Conference Talks, it is easier to navigate these days we are living in. We r
rest in faith in God, the Savior and in His prophet's. It brings peace and beauty to our lives.

The information in this fireside is what needs to be taught to help the church be sustainable. We need to hear about our faults and weaknesses (not hide them) and then be reminded of how much is good and correct. We need to know that we can sustain our leaders EVEN when we disagree with some of the teachings. Thank you Patrick Mason for your courageous, wise, and faithful voice. You are a treasure to our church!

Thank you for posting. This was an amazing fireside. I heard Brother Mason speak at the original broadcast. I'm glad to know I can share the link with friends who were not able to attend that evening.

    32 minute…
We are again rooting their horn!!
    We always toot their horn..
    It’s worship…
We need to understand that they are men like all men..
    watch the Chosen..
This show gives us the best interpretation of real men called by God…
What we need to honor is God using imperfect humans to do His work!
We need to stop talking about how wonderful these men these humans are.
    It’s a cultural shift!
    Stop defending their great intentions..
I’m sure they fight pride like the best of us!!!
They want to be liked or honored or respected or heeded like many men do.
We need to be in Awe that God is a God who lets mortal men in on His game! He’s the one to honor and follow!

I like Patrick very much, I think he takes an honest approach to the LDS church. Substitute the words, he talks to God instead of the word prophet. Think how you would feel if God actually talked to you. I have no doubt that I would follow his word to the letter and not only that I wouldn’t be changing doctrines. God is the same yesterday today and tomorrow, right? Not with today’s prophets . Today’s profits spend $5 billion on a shopping mall and get fined $5 million for hiding money. There’s no such thing as someone that talks to God.

    Fill the house???
    My question is….
What truth can we say about practices and teachings that were and did not reflect Divine opinion, belief, or doctrine?
Can we fill the house with the truth that prophets are affected by culture and have bias?
They sometime have taught from bias things that were false?
Can we stop defending ideas that were totally wrong and acknowledge that prophets are only prophets when they speak Gods will to us?
And sometimes these men speak non divine ideas to us???
Can we fill the house like this????

Are we to acknowledge that the prophet is wrong on something and be accountable to follow him anyway?
    Do we have to?
Can we choose to not follow an urging from a letter in our culture or must we??????

Sooo will the Church confess the sin of saying the new MRNA injection is safe and effective when it clearly isn’t?
Will they confess urging an entire body of believers to get a medical injection against their previous decisions not to?
Thry used ecclesiastical respect and authority to persuade others to harm themselves.
    Will they confess it?

Mistakes in writing? Or doctrinal or moral mistakes?
    Harming people?
What are these mistakes he is talking about?
