I know I’m a year late, but one thing I would change about blue mage is if they gave you an indicator showing what animal gives you spells and which don’t because at this point I’m lost
I just subbed because of your approach and explanation of BLU Guides as this was the second video I just watched. Had picked up BLU just last night after doing the Job intro. Your commentary feedback in the comments was also helpful.
Glad to hear and thanks. Generally, I try to make my guides as quick and to the point as I can. Like for this video I spend 10 to 20 second for most spells because anything more would just become unnecessary bloat. Also I generally try to respond to most comments especially questions.
@@TheNastyNamazu I got my BLU to 70 a good couple days ago and even did a few the Carnival Events. The grind wasnt too bad and actually enjoyed playing the BLU even as a limited Job. Often tried to kill mobs at +2-5, and five can be a stretch and it takes more time and get less chains for the chain bonus. With the Choko out it helps a lot and to buff the Choko for increased potency on mob hits as its a lot more XP on kills the higher level mobs. Back to this video again for more focused acquiring on some the spells i missed collecting in the open world. Round 2!
10:30 if I remember correctly peculiar light can be obtained by the third "boss" (I forgot its name but it looks similar and gets eaten before you can finish fighting it) in brayflox's longstop but it is obviously quicker to just get it from mobs in the open world
I obtained Tail Screw Solo at level 50 with Exuviation (the Esuna Spell) to get rid of the dot and then castet Doom on the boss and when it lands I startet kiting. Took me about 10-15 tries to get the timing right. 😊
I really appreciate the work you put into this video. I hope you are appreciated because you sound like a really good person. And I really love your channel mascot 🙂 I hope I get the opportunity to say hi in game.
You can, however, my goal was to list the locations that are either the earliest, easiest/fastest or most rewarding. So for example you can get loom from the b rank in Northern Thanalan, but getting if from Ampador can net you 3 other spells. For Ram/dragon specifically cutter's is the earliest while Relic Reborn is the fastest(shame no one ever has the trial unlocked). Also I am somewhat trying to avoid the masked carnival in general. If you are struggling to get a spell from a dungeon you can come back at a higher level or ask friends for help, but for the carnival there is no unsyncing and your on own. Also if your trying to learn a spell from it you can't use the best tool for completing any stage final sting.
You turn on unrestricted party in the duty finder. This will let you go into the dungeon either solo or with party members while also being unsynced meaning your actual level and ilevel. You can also then turn on level sync which will have the dungeon be normal. Doing this gives a 100% chance for spell drops But yeah they can't queue normal and if you want to do a dungeon with people you have to party with them before hand.
You know a great way to go about these spells would be to group them by area.. get these 5 here in such and such or this one here in such and such instead of having us run all over the map getting 1 when there's 3 more in thr same area
Yeah, you can learn multiple for example you can potentially get both ram's and dragon's at the same time from chimera. As for level outside the totems(which have requirements like level) you can get any spell at anytime as long as you can actually kill whatever uses it.
Just wanted to say that as a brand new blue mage player whos only been playing ff15 for about three months, going out of order is the EASIEST way to progress. Getting newer spells from bloodstorm makes the prosses a whole lot smoother and rewarding. Especially when everything in arr/hw feels the same. All 200-220 aoes or single target spells. Idk what i would do without my early tingle+whistle+tripple trident combo to get other goodies. Especially when having to solo some content.
I just got the BLU job and Martyn literally tells you in a dialog box that you don't need to be hit by the attack, you just need to see it being cast and live long enough to kill the enemy afterwards. EDIT: Here's the cutscene dialog: "Martyn: By the by, you don't, strictly speakin', need to be struck by the magic you're tryin' to learn─but that'll probably happen whether you want it to or not. In some cases, repeatedly. As long as you're the one the beast's after, its power should be yours. Assumin' you can defeat it."
Says its in order of your leveling Immediately starts with listing off spells requiring you to be taking on like higher level bosses near the end and middle of ARR, rather than say, enemies at and around your starting level of like, 1. gods, why is it so hard for people to list this stuff in an order that is like "Heres spells you can learn from 1-10, 11-20, 20-30, etc?" Why is it every spell list does it in this kind of freaking order?
First off I said that I was listing the spells in the order they were released as they will line up naturally with your leveling journey as in the first 50 levels the spells are mostly found in arr and so on. Second, it doesn't make sense to list in obtain order because one it makes it harder to use the video for people looking to find a specific spell from their spell book, and two the order you can obtain spells varies As a solo player the first chance you have at tailscrew is lvl 50 through a dungeon, but the best way to get the spell is at level 60 in stormblood as it can be gotten from an overworld mob. However, it can also be gotten at level 1 by just having a friend pull aggro off the mob when you tag it then have them kill it to get you the spell Another example, 1000 needles is a spell you can get around level 20 normally when solo; however, if you use the guards near the enemies you could get it at level 1 by pulling the cactuar to the guards and having them kill it.
How many times do I have to kill the Sabotendeur (sp)...to get the 1000 needles? I know the cactuar I need to get and I killed one yesterday but no spell? Is this an RNG thing?
It is rng but overworld spells should be relatively easy to obtain they normally have a good drop rate. Something to note is you have to make sure they do the cast, and you can't interrupt it. It has to go off afterwards(you don't need to be hit by it) before you kill the enemy.
@@TheNastyNamazu Oh sweet! Thank you for responding and answering me!! And yeah they shoot the spells but it doesn't always give me the "SPELL LEARNED". Rude. LOL
Mountain Buster is unlocked in The Navel (Extreme). I tried the Hard version a 7-8 of times, but it didn't grant the spell. The Extreme version gave it on my first try. Even the "Where to Learn" section mentions the Extreme version. Same is true for Shock Strike where you need to go for the Extreme version as well.
The book doesn't tell you all the place(or even the best) it can be learned. The drop chance(if unsynced) no matter if you do the hard or extreme is very low. You were just unlucky when doing the hards and got luck when doing the extremes. I Just did a blue mage learning event for my fc not two weeks ago and got everyone mountain buster and shock strike from the normal.
Mighty guard and white wind spam is basically required for doing solo content and if you want to speed the already slow process then you'll also want basic instinct(stormblood spell you can get in Upper La Noscea (9,21.5) from a master coeurl). The thing with dungeon spells is the drop rate isn't that horrible its really only the trials so doing it unsynced isn't that bad...as long as your not unlucky
If you level sync it is 100% assuming you see the attack and are live at the end of the fight. For example when I said it the video I showed a me killing ifrit solo synced. So I was level 20 basically spamming 1000 needle until he died and boom learned the spell. For ifrit specifically be careful to not use any ability that stuns as Eruption can be interrupted which will stop you from learning it.
It's the worst job in the game. I'm only doing it for the achievement, it's the worst job. in the game because you can not enter dungeons without setting. it for unrestricted, and you can not enter Roulettes the mage keeps dying all the time worst job in the history of Final Fantasyit's nothing more than a glamour. Takes too long for spells to charge up, but that's expected all mages suck.
Here is a playlist for my other blue mage guides:

4:30 minor correction, just the base wanderers Palace not wanderers Palace (hard)
...Crap. At least I got it right on the card.
I have a level 80 BLU ready, and I'll be using these guides to get spells for myself. So, thank you for this guide
Great guide I just finished all ARR spells today!
glad it helped

You can also get Bomb Toss from Goblin Muggers in Western Thanalan
8:03 you can also get ram and dragons voice by successfully completing the first stage of the masked carnivale. Actually how I got it on my BLU mage
You can, however, my goal was to list the locations that are either the earliest, easiest/fastest or most rewarding. So for example you can get loom from the b rank in Northern Thanalan, but getting if from Ampador can net you 3 other spells.

Nr 27 the look,
Its no longer cast aparently, so check thr logs or his animation
So how do you qeue for those dungeons if it's not possible to qeue as blue mage ? Can they be solo'd ?
You turn on unrestricted party in the duty finder. This will let you go into the dungeon either solo or with party members while also being unsynced meaning your actual level and ilevel. Does not work as proper game design though. Because then you create enemies and enemy placement around a singular class.
Thank u for this video. And i could only find glide bomb in western thanalan x27,y17 dont know if that helps anyone or not
Can you learn multiple spells from a farm mob if they have them available in the same fight? Like, what level of grinding is it?
Yeah, you can learn multiple for example you can potentially get both ram's and dragon's at the same time from chimera. As for level outside the totems(which have requirements like level) you can get any spell at anytime as long as you can actually kill whatever uses it.

I managed to get tail screw solo in sastasha hard with doom and luck
