When I see people going all in about dissing a brand online I usually suspect something is up and actually support the brand instead. I have bought their CHM-T48VB and have been more than pleased. My message to those who complain: design and make your own and put it up for sale - and I shall buy it.
This video finally convinced me to order one. Loved getting to see some solid videos of this machine from you. Charmhigh owes you for this great content!
Awesome @Griffin Paquette - Just remember, they take a lot of tuning... I got up and running very quickly, as do most folks, but the took months to really dial it in for repeatable accurate results. If only Charmhigh would send me a new PnP as a thankyou ;)
Great to see it working..........and I love the idea of PnP for my own Pcb production, even if it's just for the jelly bean parts which I hate doing by hand as I don't by the expensive parts in reels......jelly bean is where I lose most of my time. Maybe one day!
I have similar machine, Qi-He TVM802B and similar problems. My has poor cameras. I would like to convert it to OpenPnP but that would be quite a massive job I guess. Nice video.
I think this is about as big as I can get and still do reliable stencilling to be honest. Reflow is also a problem due to even-ness, but I'm sure my pasting would mess me up more. I've thought about adding another column of 5 TPs.. but I'm over the production hump, so doesn't make sense to change now I don't think.
wow, this is fairly impressive for the cost of this unit, granted yes you pay for it in time spent fiddling, but still. it seems as if they could easily upgrade the head to 4 nozzles.
I honestly didn't have a choice ;) I'm proud of how well lI have it running now, but would have preferred a better machine from day one that just worked better.
Dear Seon thanx for the video, I have two questions Is the CHMT36VA in every case equipped with the closed loop Controller ? The web site say nothing specific about the versions and do you have modified the noisy vacuum pump ? Thanx for your answer regareds Joerg
Hahaha. Yeah i thought about a delta pnp but the size required for this build volume would be huge. And the precision requirement for pick and placeing 0402 components would be hard to satisfy. This machine is not limited by xy travel (ok maybe a bit) but it gets limited by the feeding and placing mechanism as well. So a delta (while moving faster) would not necessarly yield a better component per hour (cph) value
Why? Firstly, the software is only supported on Win7 (some have gotten it working on win10 through some hacks) - Secondly, all this machine does is run the PnP - what do I need win10 for? Extra bloat, more bugs, no advantages, same result.
First the laser printer and now more improvements on the PnP. Your home factory is coming right along.
Slowly but surely... Still missing a CnC ;)
You and me both.
Hands down, this is the best charmhigh video on RUclips. Congrats on your success for both product and production.
Cheers Craig!

where can I buy this PnP ?? exactly this
@@UnexpectedMaker So what P&P you recomend for start? something for 20 feders .
Good work, looking forward to hearing the tips on how you've managed to deal with all the initial problems you had.
As soon as I have some time, I'll get something together.
@@UnexpectedMaker That would really be great!

I still enjoy hand assembly, but not in quantity. Definitely not when under pressure anyway ;) You should get one!

Is it worth moving to a larger panel size or is the oven a limiting factor?

I'd love a 4 head machine... they sell them, but not this small. Much bigger and cost a lot more!
Wow. That's a great piece of work! Subbed 😀
Thanks Jim, and welcome!
Really cool. I wouldn't had the patience for this.
I honestly didn't have a choice ;) I'm proud of how well lI have it running now, but would have preferred a better machine from day one that just worked better.
Oh mate, it's impressive! Thanks for what you do!
Thanks :)
And mind you sir... What sort of vacuum it is using..? It's really silent
Do you have the link from where you bought the machine?
Just look for CHMT36VA on Ali Express
Congrats on the 100% speed. Is the space saved with 0402 parts worth the extra trouble they cause?
Well=, the TinyPICO wouldn't be as small as it is if I used bigger parts, so yes, it's worth the trouble. Now to work out how to use 0201 on it!
Hello sir... Which brand of PnP machine is this..? How was their customer support..?
Congratulations 🎊

Sorry Joerg, I just can't recommend CHMT at all or help you with your questions...

Marvelous work Seon.
Cheers mate!
going well now after the teething issues.👍☮
I think "teething issues" is an understatement, but yes, purring like a kitten now!
Are you selling your PnP machine design.?
The file you send to the PnP, Is it the whole panel or just the one unit, Telling the PnP the panel size?
I use just the single board, and tell the PnP software what the panel X,Y counts is and the spacing.
Awesome improvement, well done!
Cheers ben!
You must have had a lot of boards to make to justify the amount of money and time spent on this machine. All the best with it.
I've built over 5000 boards on it already... a few more than I could do by hand ;)
From where can I buy this machine please, I need it
Please, make one longer video/post only about all the tweaks you had to make : )
Maybe one day!
@@UnexpectedMaker now it's fresh in your mind. You might forget it 😁😆😂
Yes please. Would love to know what you tweaked. Thinking to buy one soon :)
Congratulations!
Thanks mate!
What is that machine? Where did you buy your Pnp?
CHMT36VA - Do a search on Ali Express
Those Softimage boxes 😍
Do you work in VFX?
I used to... way back. Lightwave and XSI :)
That was certainly a wise investment.
It certainly has been. I still wan't a bigger one Wirth 4 heads and 64 feeders though ;)
I have RUclips Vanced and it defaults to 1.25x speed....and it's still slow. Build a Delta, model it off of the Omron Adept.
What? Slow? It's doing 1800-2200 CPH with vision, placing 0402 - on a AUD $5k PnP. You should do more research on PnP costs and speed/capabilities :-)
Hahaha.

getting there ! now you need a pasting machine :)
Yeah, I really do... but $3k+ is hard to justify now that I am close to the end of this massive production run.
@@UnexpectedMaker will we get cake when you finish 😁
I told you to get the pnp machine.
Too slow for the stepper motors that it uses,
Do you plan to opensource it?
Open source what? The PnP? It's a commercial unit I bought.
@@UnexpectedMaker ok thanks, I thought you built it.
So happy for you ,.//.,
Thanks Karl :)
Awesome 👌👏👏👏
Nice job.....
Cheers Charles!
