This was my favorite movie back in the day, but honestly, I wouldn't let this dude within 1,000 feet of a construction site, I'd let the other Dave on these sites
So many classic and vintage dump trucks in this, didn't notice it until watching again tonight. Needle nose Peterbilt's and Kenworth's, a couple Mack R-models and Superliners, and more from the 60's and 70's. Pretty cool to see all those old trucks still being used on construction sites as recent as the late 90's when this was filmed. The funny thing is, every one of the dump trucks in this video are now illegal in California where this was filmed because of EPA emissions regulations.
Yup. California HATES old trucks. Most truckers who are owner-operators with trucks older than 2007 refuse to travel there. I'm talking about the over-the-road trucks, not the huge on-site quarry rock trucks they show in the video.
Damn dude, I remember watching this when I was like 4-5 years old in preschool. I probably watched this on VCR 100 times back in the day. My poor parents...... 22 years later, that scene with his sandwich getting run over is still somehow burned into my brain. -And I also ended up getting my CDL, been a flatbed trucker for six years now. Funny how that worked out
I remember watching this when I was a toddler years ago, it's been hidden away in my brain for years, literally remembered it last night. I remember my brother watched it aswell, he used to always call it "The Digger movie" lol
15:17 Uh Dave. There's a Caterpillar 980G Front Loader coming and unless you want to be buried under a pile of gravel, i'd wake up and get out of there.
@Sam Breall Dave: (wakes up to see the front loader about dump it's loader) Oh shoot! (gets up in hurry and scrambles to get away) I gotta get out of here. I should've been sleeping!
I would be surprised if there was a video called, "There Goes A Driverless Dump Truck." It would centered around Komatsu's newest Autonomous Dump Truck which has no cab and can operate on it's own. The video could also show how other construction companies use the driverless technology and how it provides a new safety precaution for the operator.
I remember this home video! But the part where Dave's wheelbarrow and sandwich get crushed at the end was very sad, which made it a disappointing ending. Nevertheless, this home video was educational.
25:17 "Oh no! My sandwich! Oh, my poor sandwich..." I feel sorry for Dave after both his sandwich and wheel barrow get run over by that road roller. So sad... Anybody else feel sorry for him?
I sure do; it was very sad that both objects were ran over. As Scoop from "Bob the Builder: Snowed Under" would say, "You... big... clumsy... lump!" (even though Scoop had anger issues there). Well, at least Dave actually took a bite of his sandwich at 17:12, but how was it still not eaten yet right after that? It really doesn't make any sense whatsover.
