Love your content Dan I still take my LR50 se to the dealership for service and fluid changes they are impressed by how good it runs & sounds with 278,500 on the clock 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
@R50 NATION, a little bit of maintenance goes a long way on these old R50s. Now one that's dealer-maintained with 278.500 miles on the clock should continue to serve you for many more years to come. Thanks again for watching! Chris.
@Tim Zeller, congratulations on your newly acquired 2004 Nissan R50 Pathfinder. I'm happy to hear that this channel has been a helpful resource for you, it's always been my goal. Thanks again for watching and welcome to the channel! Chris.
Good job Dan I am looking to buy this same suv for overland build. I do a lot of camping and kayak fishing and this r50 is a gem and often overlooked. These are bulletproof and way over built as far as build quality, I have a friend who owns 2001 with 395k miles and still runs smooth. Original motor;transmission,
@Phet Insixiengmay, I think the R50 Pathfinder or Infiniti QX4 would make a great platform for an over-landing build. I've seen a few very cool examples. Camping and Kayak fishing sounds like a lot of fun. It all depends on what you want out of your R50. It sounds like you already have an idea of what you want and need out of your build. I say go for it. Welcome to the channel, and thanks again for watching! Chris.
@@TheCamperDanFiles thanks for responding it’s very helpful to have someone already out there using the truck. You gave me some good advice, so far I’m convinced that this is what I will be buying asap. Also looking at infinity qx4 2001-2003 since it has a nicer interior. 👍👌
Enjoying your videos and have subscribed. I just picked up a 2002 pathfinder LE and so your videos are very helpful. I’ve already done everything in this video except the cabin air filters. Didn’t have them on my last vehicle so didn’t even think about it. now my next project is to get those cabin air filters changed. Thanks.
@Scot Hunter, welcome to the channel, I'm glad you have found this video helpful. There's nothing better than being able to perform this bit of maintenance yourself. Congratulations on your newly acquired 2002 Nissan Pathfinder LE Trim, Thanks again for watching 👨🏾🔧 Chris.
The filter under or inside the glove compartment very very helpful might have to change mine. I've never changed it in my 1 year plus ownership of my 97 R50 Pathfinder
@Joel Arnica, it's actually behind the glove box. You will need to remove this to access your cabin air filters. You're definitely gonna want to change these. I hope this helps, thanks again for watching! Chris.
I've had my 97 PF for over 20 years. Never knew it even had a a cabin filter. Great little truck, never let me down and goes anywhere I want to go. I rarely drive it now but keep it around and legal. The AC went out but I'm looking to make it a camping vehicle.
I've noticed your videos and I'm in desperate need of a 2001 pathfinder SE transmission dip stick. I cannot find one locally and no auto parts place I know of sells them. If you ever find one in the junk yards think of me!
@Sabastian Evans, I will see if I can locate one for you on my next visit to the junkyard. In the meantime, I ask that you contact me via NPORA here's a link to my profile. www.nissanpathfinders.net/forum/profile/43639-camperdan/ Thanks again for watching and welcome to the channel! Chris.
Hi Chris, enjoy your channel. I've got a 2002 R50 LE with just over 100k. Just changed the plugs and replaced the brakes for the first time. Runs like a beast. I change my oil every 3k also but I use 1 quart of Marvel Mystery with the full synthetic oil. Have no leaks of any kind anywhere ..knock on wood! My omly issue is the cruise control doesn't work. Rats chewed thru the wires and connector. IhD a mechanic hardwire since the connector was destroyed but still doesn't work, set light just flashes but won't engage. It worked before so I'm thinking he may have crossed some wires. Any thoughts? The brake pedal switch for the cruise is good. Thanks
@Jeckel, yes I did indeed use a (gray) can of Mas Air Flow Sensor cleaner to clean my Maf Sensor, the First (red) can I used on my throttle body was a throttle body and Air-Intake Cleaner. Purchased both of these in a 2for1 package deal at my local Walmart some time ago to glean things up on my 2015 Nissan Altima. Just figured it would be a good idea to perform the same maintenance on my R50. Thanks again for watching! Chris.
