Hi Tim, thanks for the demo on changing the oil. Just finished changing the oil in a model E2L that was in the basement of my mother in law’s house. Works like a dream!
I miss my old wringer washer,,,I had it fitted with a 2 horesepower briggs and straton motor on its horizontal shaft. I used to just fill the oil and the gas and I could wash clothes for about 3 weeks. Love your videos
I am so glad to find Your video in changing the wringer washer's oil. I just transported one to my house that I bought from a nice man, but we layed it on it's side and the oil spilled out all over the back of my truck. It looks like chocolate syrup also. I hope I have a good time changing it and I hope to have many years of happy times with it. I will name my new washer Patrick after the man who sold it to me. ' \
Those machines have to be standing up when transported or you will have a mess but if you put some tape on the vent hole on the wringer post it should be fine that's where the oil comes from. Tim 😃
Us 90 75 gear oil he doesn't say, it will hold about a quarter tape hole where we is putting it in, lay machine on its side won't hurt shot did this 10 times
@Mikepruitt-ik2lc when I buy the gear oil I have to use a oil can pump to put it in so there is no way to know how much went in so I go by how much is left in the can. Tim
I just got a machine Maytag n2l was transport on the side 😢 the oil leak out . What kind of oil I should use regular transmission oil for car I don’t want to lock in place I think was over filled with oil anyway because you can see at the top of wringler
The machine takes a 90 weight gear oil you can get it at Tractor supply it comes in a quart bottle. The oil probably leaked from the winger post these machines should not be transported on there side that will happen unless you taped the vent hole. Tim 😃
Hi! Can you explain what vapor locked is? I just purchased an n2ls and it was transported on its side and the oil leaked out everywhere. I found your video looking for info on how to change it out. Super thick and gummy mess. Also thanks so much for the help and I’m going to order that tool
Vaper lock is the oil vaper and it causes the machine to lock up. And when that happens the machine will not run until you free up the power unit wheel and you can't plug the motor until you free it first. Just do the oil change like I recommend and you will be fine. Any other questions just let me know. Tim 😀😀
@@timkessler4894 Will do! I’m so excited about getting her fixed up and going. Such a neat machine! Your video was very helpful, I consider myself somewhat handy if given the right resources. Lol..Just fixed the drain pump on our 2 year old lg front loader and saved $400 (with the help of youtube of course). I don’t think the fancy new machines are much more than overpriced sanitizers;) Thanks again!
Please refer to my repair manual video. There are several seals in that part there are rubber seals and metal seals and you have to have a special tool to insert the seals. Go to Cottage Craft Works for the seals. Hope all goes well let me know. Tim
It is called tool for thrust collar. I ordered it from Cottage Craft Works make sure of your purchase because you can't return it. They don't accept returns. Works great for me now I can change the oil more regularly. Tim 😃
@@timkessler4894 I love them for the clean. Far better than my he machine. Didn't know how to change the fluid. This helps tremendously. Question...can I do it with regular tools ir do I have to buy the special ones?
I had a container but it fell over so I just the rest of it drain out and yes it was a mess I used a scraper to scrape it up and put it in that container and took it in for recycling. I hope I didn't cause any confusion. Tim😃
Anyone know of a video that actually shows you how to do work on wringer washers? This guy doesn't really show anything. Got a vapor lock. Now what? lol!
You can back off the thrust bearing cap a bit but you have to turn the belt pulley until the power unit turns free you can't tighten the thrust bearing cap to tight or it won't turn at all. Please let me know if you need help 🙂. Tim
Just loosen the thrust bearing collar cap slightly and then turn the belt pulley on the power unit it should spin free if not loosen a little bit more and that should work. I learned that if it is too tight it will not turn free. Please let me know if you need help 🙂. Tim

Maybe you can instruct me on taking my washing machine apart so I can replace seals repaint and install a new cord
Sure I would love to help just let me know when you are ready. Hope there's not too much wrong with it but it is really easy to work on fun too.Tim 😃
Do you know what seal is used to replace by the pulley?

@@timkessler4894thanks i will
Helpful for sure thx!
Glad I could help knowledge is power hope it made the job much easier. Tim 😃
Can't you just pull the wringer up amd out and refill from there?
No because there is no clear way to the power unit the oil would just run out of the wringer post leg onto the floor. Tim

You have to buy the tool for it unfortunately but you'll always have it so you can change the oil more frequently when you need to. Tim😃😃
Oily, Clunky, Loud, old tanks. Just bought me another one last week. lol I will never go back to the modern crap.
These are some work but they are worth it. I don't like the machines these days. Tim 😀
No old container to drip it into? Not rocket science , just a lot of extra work
