Had the same exact intial reaction; it felt weird with the turret armor basically gone, but after switching to Leo playstyle, it really does feel pretty dang good.
I find it pretty sad, i liked the fact that i had a lil bit of amor on the turret, imo it should have a better dpm than the stb1 but worst than the leo, same for the armor, being a balance between the two (a good dpm and good turret armor, but not as good as the other meds separatly), beacause now it just feels like you are playing a worst leo that cant hulldown too much anymore but with more mobility

BatChat 25t got the biggest buff this update! Insane speed, best view range, AND great camo - with a 1050 alpha clip with a 3.85 sec interclip using reload boost, but still same 5.6 sec as TVP - except it trades better than TVP!
If they are going to nerf the turret to where anyone can cut thru it, they should’ve remodeled it and removed a majority of the hatch or maybe entirely remove the hatch
My opinion, if it kept the same turret armor it won’t make it anything special, especially since the STB 1 has more DPM if I’m not mistaken and better in everything except speed and accuracy. I would’ve kept the same turret armor (as if it had any turret armor) and gave it back the old 68 kph speed it had and the same DPM it has after the buff.
I bought this Offer with the AMX M4 mle and it’s additional Mystery Boxed and managed to get one Tank Certificate out of those … and I got the AMX 30B out of this … means I didn’t only get 2x French Premium Tier X Ones - I also got the 30B in a state where it’s pretty strong now
If u want a tough med go for the kpz 50t. ,its like a heavy in a meds shell, very well armoured good dpm+speed .great tank that u can get away with making mistakes in. 🥳👍
Despite its buffs, id still rather run the Tier 9 prototype version of this tank as its just more reliable. I always find it hard to defend the 30B when the obj 907 exists (mobile, leo gun, but turret works) and the Carro 45T (alpha, accuracy, clip). While the 30b is good, will always be overshadowed by the better tier 10 collectors and even a techtree which is weird lol.
Man i wish i could buy this tank back and my old annihilator as i sold it before i truly knew how op it was lol. Hell i got one of my 3 pools medals in it and still it didnt hit me lol. I use to love the amx 30b even tho it wasnt great and i love the amx 30 prototype way kore and think they should be swapped in tiers. I still have the prototype and its one of my most played as well. I sold the 30b to get enough gold for a super conq but that was forwver ago and i wish we could restore tanks for an unlimited amlunt of time instead of a couple months.
I feel like on paper the 30b is just a worse Leo, but it just has so many "comfort" factors that just enable it to be amazing. Autoricochet roof, at least having a mantlet, and funny enough the hatch. You can bait so many people with it it's kinda crazy. For people who didn't realize, the Leo lost a degree of gun depression so the 30b now has 2 more degrees (another comfort factor). In any case, for anyone fighting this tank, shoot straight at the turret, I'd reccomend premium (yes including HEAT rounds). The effective thickness of the turret is about 280mm so premium goes through 100% of the time, and it isn't spaced armor so HEAT shells will go through (including mantlet).
Amx 30b, butttttt the stb-1 is basically a leopard, but it is slightly slower. But it has the most armour out of all of them. Even at a flat angle the turret is solid. Because the stb-1 had 11 degrees of gun depression, using it will guarantee auto bounce on turret and even hull. It’s insane and my fav medium 😅
Unless you can get the 30b for free, it's not that much better. It's a bit more friendly, but much easier to just get an stb-1 etc. It's not the same playstyle I admit, the mobility is the biggest difference, but it's going to be more comfortable than the leo.
As for if you only compare these two the leopard still has a higher skill ceiling with it's ridiculous dpm, higher alpha, better accuracy. But that's only if you really really know what your doing. Because Leo now sits at 8deg gun depression, the 30b's 10 is going to feel better.
