Russian oligarchs buy media in the West, invest in their propaganda and make people believe that NATO is evil and they should just let Russia do whatever they want. Thank you to all three of you. I agree living in the uk with a flaccid government is difficult to bear.
I am in frequent contact with someone on the front line in Kherson. It is breaking my heart that they do not get enough food. Some days they don't eat. There are are many wonderful people raising big sums of money for vehicles and weapons but front line soldiers going on patrol every night, fighting the enemy day and night yet they do not get enough food.
This is why I believe it's important to expose some of the lesser known issues, facts behind what the Russian oligarchs and others have been doing, or trying to do.
In our current world, ignorance is dangerous.

It's great to finally hear a discussion acknowledging the seriousness and scope of the threat posed by russia. Of course the problem for the West (I'm a European, living in the US) is it's populations sleepwalk through an ongoing war fought against them, unaware of who is the enemy. So the most insidious weapon is both the means and the result.. There is hope, however, and ideas of what to do to wake people up

Not quite. There were countries supplying military forces starting in 1939, years before the US joined.
The US actually supplied massive military support to Russia as the Russians were allied after 1942.
That’s exactly right. America is the world’s biggest donor and protector to countries victimized by war and atrocities.

I am used to read and hear rather pro-Russian opinions, but I was not aware of the extend to which it is infiltrated.
We are open societies with free speech. But every system (a society is a system) must protect itself. And we didn't see that free speech can be abused.
Time that politicians take measures. In the short term, they and media should better inform people about what's at stake in Ukraine and not themselves spread Russian propaganda.
Don't underestimate the British. We are not lapdogs of the Americans, but as a minor 3rd. tier power now, we achieve more overall when working with them. I expect Starmer to stand up to Trump if, God forbid, he is the next President. Netanyahu has shown it can be done to be an ally, yet not a servant.
Mostly a good conversation, but some pretty gross agism when talking about Biden. Criticize the policies, don't make personal attacks. Also, it would be nice to see less ranting and raving, and more of bringing Pavlo into the conversation.
