These two songs go so great together. You should really watch the commentary by Brian May and Roger Taylor for this 1981 Montreal concert. First Freddie was laughing because it was time for Roger to work his ass off. And secondly, Roger forgot the words to his own song, which really cracked Freddie up!
Roger started playing drums at about 9 years old. He started off playing guitar/ ukulele and actually has a larger collection of classic /collectable guitars than Brian. Brian has actually borrowed guitars from Roger for certain song recordings. Roger started his first professional band at the age of 13, called The Bubblingover Boys, in Truro, Cornwall.
Is Queen the best band of all times or what??? All the band members were amazingly talented, individually, and as a band WOW, out of this universe and beyond!!! Roger absolutely nails the vocals and the drums, like it was nothing. And the others just supported him like they should, like they did for one another. They were a real band, raw, pure talent. No autotune in sight. Just talent. And when Roger forgot the lyrics of his own song, Freddie turned around and just smile at him, he was having fun. They all had so much fun in the live gigs, and that showed. The fans just adore them.
Roger Taylor: Haha, you think we look tired? Watch this!!! I love the lyrics, I love Roger’s Raspy rock voice ala Rod Stewart, I love when Freddie turns around and smiles at him. Awesome reaction
The incomparable Roger Taylor!! Ranked 8th best drummer on the planet. His voice is pure rock! What an amazing talent! Freddie turning around watching him is everything ❤️👑🔥🥁🎹🎤🎸
Roger wrote I'm in Love with my car. You'd think he would have made it a little easier for himself! A lot of people think he sounds like Rod Stewart too. You can also watch the Montreal concert with commentary by Brian and Roger. Nice little insights from them 😊. Great reaction Jeffrey 👏👏👏
Have never heard or seen any evidence of Freddie crowd surfing at a concert. Don't think he would be into that. It wasn't a thing back then. I went to lots of concerts in the 70s and 80s and never saw anyone crowd surf until the 90s. Warren Zevon told a story of watching Queen play around 1974 when he was just a kid, then standing outside the venue door hoping to get an autograph. He said most bands would run for the limo and not sign any but Queen invited everyone standing outside to come in! He talked to all the band members and never forgot how kind they were. Queen was my favourite concert because you can tell that they love their fans and give 100% every night to them.
If you are curious of what they were like outside of the stage, watch some interviews or watch their One Vision documentary. 8:00 I've listened to so much Roger Taylor, he doesn't sound like Steve Perry at all to my ears xD, If you want to hear Roger hitting his legendary Iconic angelic falsetto notes React to Queen In the Lap of the Gods Live at the Rainbow 1974 thats just godlike. If you want to see one of Brians best Guitar solos check out his very underrated solo song ''Resurrection''. I really Love Roger, he was something else, one of my favorite Drummers. His perfect time keeping and Background singing on Drums, So Great. If you want to see one of Rogers best Drumming check out Now I'm Here live at Wembley. There is so much greatness with Queen. Great reaction.
Roger’s falsetto at the Rainbow is unbelievable! I’d love to see more reactors watching it, and then the Hammersmith revisited version, both as good as the other for different reasons
This is such a great set. Just outstanding on both songs and the guitar licks knock me out. Roger smashes the drums while singing and John is the backbone in Killer Queen. Freddie...he is so outstanding in Killer Queen every time.
Such clever lyrics in Killer Queen, and such fun lyrics in I’m in Love with my car. Roger in his early 20’s when he wrote it, so they kind of fit his vibe then, and even though it was actually about one of their crew who absolutely loved his car. “Told my girl I had to forget her, rather buy me a new carburettor “. Love it. Queen often did medleys. A good one is Now I’m Here/Dragon Attack/Now I’m here reprise.
Saw them at Wembley ‘86. Beautiful performance. Met the band. Saw them with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert. Have jammed with the band. Still in contact with Roger. Great friends. Wonderful people! Miss Freddie so much.
A few years ago I was walking down the street in London when I became aware of this guy with large hair coming towards my direction from the left,, and I started thinking that “ he looks like Brian May” when I realised there was a smaller guy walking at my side and realised Roger Taylor was next to me! As my brain started to process this I just asked “what are you guys doing here?” Roger explained they had just been to a meeting with their record label to discuss making a film about Freddie and Queen which became Bohemian Rhapsody. I expected them to get into a limo but Brian just jumped on a bus and Roger hailed a cab! I was stunned to meet them and was delighted with how grounded they were.
Roger was always my favorite. My best friend in middle school was a giant Queen fan, so I got immersed in it then. One of the best rock drummers there is.
Tired? This is a film of a concert made over two nights. It's not a normal Queen show. It was specifically made with the intention of being released in cinemas.
For an AMAZING, LIVE duet with Roger and Freddie (with Roger on lead vocal) you should react to : "Action This Day" LIVE in 1982 at the Milton Keynes Bowl!!
Ha no this is before crowd surfing. Love how they always did medleys. I’ve gone to a good number of shows over the years & I can’t recall any other group/singer due a medley of their songs in that way. Killer queen is an incredibly difficult vocal & Roger’s drumming is amazing. Watching him certainly makes me appreciate the talent he possess. They used to do death on 2 legs/killer queen/I’m in love with my car. Amazing.
That’s one of my favorite Roger songs & he sounds like Rod Stewart. There is a medley you should do Tenement Funster, Flick of the wrist, Lilly of the valley. They flow together & there is a Roger song in there which is my favorite. Roger & Brian have fronted there own bands, but they both have said when you have Fred in the band you let him go. Rogers band THE CROSS, Brian’s THE BRIAN MAY BAND. You should check them out to. 👑👑👑🥁
The ONLY reason Roger, Rod and even Bonnie Tyler all sound alike is because they all have that raspy voice. Those 3 are a great example of people who have always had the raspy voice and not deliberately created to get it
@@JeffreyHackReacts The Unblinking Eye (Everything is Broken) Gangsters are Running this world, Say It’s Not True, Nazis, Let’s Get Crazy, Magic is Loose are just a few suggestions of Roger’s solo work x
KILLER QUEEN is the perfect song!! I love how Freddie swoops onto the piano bench like a giant eagle!! Well you gotta remember Queen is very annoyed by this time with the production director cuz production wanted the audience to behave (so to speak). Hence, why Freddie said what he said. 😉 There’s nothing worse than an angry Queen!! 🤣 Freddie referred to Roger’s voice as the dog whistle!! 🤯🤯 Queen did all the lighting for the stage!! GET DOWN MAKE LOVE should be next!! 🔥🔥
The song Roger Taylor is singing isn't actually about his own car it's either a friend or roadie, and Freddie spoke to the audience because they had problems with security, and not wanting the audience too move about etc which is why he said it's OK to move around, and the Red Special played by Dr Brian May was built by himself and his dad back in the early 60's from items around his home,as for what the group were like, some of the music videos they've invited fans too be part of it,and they don't refuse autographs etc
Freddie Mercury, the most charismatic front man, an incredible song writer and pianist, with a vocal range of 4 octaves and a vibrato of 7.04Hz. He was an amazing talent, and super sexy to boot. The drummer is Roger Taylor, he has a degree in biology as well as being one of the best drummers ever, in the vein of Ginger Baker. Dr Brian May lead guitar, and astrophysicist who has worked with NASA when he’s not making music, and John Deacon bassist extraordinaire, with a degree in Electrical Engineering. 4 highly intelligent and talented men, who have all written songs that became hits. You won’t find too many bands with those credentials.
Freddies ott because the director was telling them not to move to be quiet.. Edit and security was keen on them staying still, but they were being too strict which was irritating Freddie
I love Queen, so many timeless songs. First time watching this performance, what an experience. I have a question for you: Would you listen to covers of Queen? If so 5 Seconds of Summer made a cover of Killer Queen for the Bohemian Rhapsody movie if you're interested.
As a crazy Roger fan I love this so much. I saw him play this Feb 2020 here in Australia. He’s still as incredible now as back then.
I believe it! His drumming is influential.
@@JeffreyHackReacts he can still sing well too
