  • The best comedy entertainment programme -- Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle, BBC and Steve Coogan presents The Writers' Guild of Great Britain award to Armando Iannucci.
    The British Comedy Awards 2011 presented by Jonathan Ross.
    The British Comedy Awards has been the premier accolade for all comedy programmes, performers and producers across the UK television industry since 1990.
    The concept for the Awards was originally devised and produced by British TV legend, Michael Hurll to promote homegrown comedy talent. The original show was presented by Michael Parkinson and winners included VICTORIA WOOD as Best Live Stand-up, PAULINE QUIRKE as Best TV Comedy Newcomer, and DROP THE DEAD DONKEY as the Best New TV Comedy. Other winners included RUSS ABBOTT, CLIVE JAMES & ROWAN ATKINSON.

    Steve Coogan gives one of the best presentation speeches, and Armando Iannucci.gives a brilliant acceptance speech..

    I really hope they recommission Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. It really is the best thing on TV today (Until the fourth series of The Thick Of It)

    nah Steve has been on Ross's chat show numerous times. Went on as Partridge a couple of years back. Pretty sure they're just having a laugh
