Thank you for this video. I just bought a used one of these compressor’s and didn’t have a manual. Good job, you covered things I had no idea about. Have a great day. 👍😊
Thank you for doing this video. The manuals (IMO) for tools today are all but useless. They’re either unclear, incomplete, very poorly laid out….or the writing is beyond microscopic. And, that’s assuming you get a manual at all. I came EXTREMELY close to spending a significant amount of money on a much larger more “industrial” compressor, and a more robust gun, but at $150 on sale….and only using it for one project, I couldn’t turn it down. And, I do like Craftsman as a brand (albeit they’ve sold out quite a bit as of late). But, I digress….thank you again for taking the time. I’m sure this will (and has ) helped a lot of people who aren’t familiar with this kind of equipment.
Thank you so much for this review. I am completely clueless about compressors, but I had to buy one. I bought this. Your review is great. My question is the following: you turn it on, it makes that terrible noise, once the tank is filled up, it automatically turns off. At that point, you turn the regulator to the right, and you should be able to use it. However, do you need to unplug it from the wall once you use it and you are spraying air? Do you need to turn it back on to use it and spray air? That part is what confuses me.
While you are using the compressor for nailing, filling up a tire, etc. you would leave it plugged in and turned on. This will allow the the compressor to start back up and replenish the air pressure as it is expelled during operations.
So if I’m filling up my car tire that is 45 psi, do I just adjust the knob until the gauge on the right is at 45 and the compressor will fill my tire not beyond 45 psi?
Hey, no that's not how it works. The compressor will reach max 45psi, but you need to manually stop filling the air. You'll need to connect a tire pressure gauge to your air pump so you can see how much air you've filled up. Hope this helps.
Amazing thorough video! One question. When you're done, do you hold the pin until it drops to 20 psi? Or do you pull and release the pin quickly one time?
Mike, we’re you able to text using the compressor with a 12v power inverter to use the unit from a work van on the road? If so, what was the watts and amp draw requirements which Deptmine the size of the inverter?
Great video? Do you feel it was a good purchase? And does one really need to drain the air everytime? I plan on using this as a tire compressor as well.
maaaaaaan, u r hooge. handling this compressor like a tennis ball... real helpful showing where 2 lubricate... where do u buy the oil cheap? machine oil won't work, will it? i guess, it's not the 'nose', it's a trip trigger, no? i mean, sometimes it helps following regular trade terms... even though it's confusing 4 newbies like myself... as soon as i saw the neat corner cut on the sample... the 'filled & finished' nail depression came naturally @ the end... :) u prolly have more tools than just that router table :)
I am new using this stuff I can feel air coming out of the compressor alongside the tube. What could that be? Also when I have achieved desired PSI, do I turn the compressor off or do I keep it running the entire project?
Ok so I have no idea about air compressors so I need to ask a question. Once it’s filled with air do you need to keep it plugged in to use? The reason I ask is I’ll need to use this out in the field & I will not have access to power or a generator. Please advise Thanks
I don't know for sure, but the gut instinct tells me that you would burn out the compressor motor with a continuous output and trying to maintain the pressure, it maintains between about 100 and 130, the specifications page for the 6lb pancake show a big NO for paint guns. It looks like most guns take 3 SCFM at around 30 PSI, this is pretty much beyond the specs of this unit. The Graco magnum airless sprayer is great though, I have done fences, pergolas, and rooms with it; about as easy as it gets, much better than anything wagner puts out. The cheapest unit I could find of lowes which specified good for spraying was their 20 lb. vertical tank.
yeat, that kind of confused me a bit... we r not saving anything with this, r we? plus it would also help make sure the cut-out regulator works properly...
Thank for clarifying the regulator guage and how to set it. Also, the nail depth setting. Now I am ready to go. Thank you.
Super helpful. The instructions said "connect hose and accessories" without any explanation of how. Your video was perfect. Many thanks
Next time let the air compressor shut off by it self at 150 psi. Then set the air to what is needed
New user of compressor and air nailers (Craftsman). This video is my efficient checklist. Thank you.
Thank you for this video. I just bought a used one of these compressor’s and didn’t have a manual. Good job, you covered things I had no idea about. Have a great day. 👍😊
I just purchased the compressor kit with Brad nailer and finish nail gun. This is an EXTREMELY helpful video. Thank you!
I just got the Craftsman one that came with three different guns on sale at Lowe's.

Good review. Thanks for the video. I must get one.

Nice tutorial of the operation of the compressor and brad nailer!
Thank you 😊 I just got one and have never used one before so this video was actually perfect
Same lol
Thanks a lot! I forgot where I put the manual. Great job!
Thank you for posting this. I’m thinking about getting this combo for few projects coming up this summer.

Can a framing nailer be use with this air compressor
Great instructive video.
Can I use this for spray painting? And how loud is this compressor?
Will it handle a framing nailer or an impact gun?

Perfect tutorial thank you so much :-)
Great video! Exactly what I wanted to see!
Great help , thank you!
Thank you what a great walk through and I did it!!
after you fill the tank, can you take the unit and use it without it plugged in? how long will the tank last until you have to refill it?
In one filled tank how many nailes do you think it can fire?
Very helpful! Thank you!!!
Really bummed when I got this for Christmas and it didn’t work right out of the box 😔
Thank you so much!
Awesome. I got one for xmas.

It’s the same compressor and nail gun you get with the porter cable just a different name
Amazing thorough video! One question. When you're done, do you hold the pin until it drops to 20 psi? Or do you pull and release the pin quickly one time?
Good, simple, video
Could I use an impact gun to remove a tire on this compressor?
Could this be used for small texture jobs with a hopper?
Very informative! Thank you!
nice video!
Thank you! This was so helpful!

Good information Dude thanks
Hose 1/4 size?

Once filled you don’t need any power.
Those compressors carry oil. I bought one and they told me I had to buy oil and I can't find a place to throw it
What Craftsman Nailer Is That?
Wat size belt
What size nails do you use?
how much price
Helpful!
manual says they are oil free tools
Thanks!!
Can you use a kobalt spray gun to paint a garage with the 6gal craftman air compressor

Thanks Chris I guess I'll return the Spray gun and the compressor
Aren’t those pneumatic tools, oilless.
Thank you for the info, I am thinking about buying the same kit. But please don't be using your hand to test the safety of your nail gun.
I would never do that on my hand, it could cause you to go to the emergency room!
Why didn’t you let it pump up to 150 psi? It’ll turn off on its own. Lol 😂
