Racine has a haunted house on south end of Main St., on the lake....very creepy! A hitchhiker gets a ride "home", gets out of the car and simply disappears! Chilling.....
-The Pfister hotel hates their haunted reputation lol! It's super old, of course it's haunted hehe!! -Only the foundation of Summer Wind stand now due to a fire strangely enough but people say you can still hear voices and see flashing lights around the property! -Riverside cemetery got the notorious reputation of being haunted from a tall tale made up surrounding the grave of one Kate Blood. Legend says that she murdered her family or something to that effect but that was just not true. The cemetery is probably haunted just not by Kate Blood. -The Bloody Bride Bridge is your classic hitchhiker ghost story! Allegedly a bride was hit and killed there on her wedding night and continues to seek out a ride. This is not confirmed. -Siren bridge allegedly was the scene of a tragic accident. A family on a Halloween night were driving when a blizzard hit causing them crash through the guardrail and to overrun the vehicle, subsequently drowning the family. Ppl say you can hear a little asking for help. -Brumder mansion hosts ghost hunting tours and all kinds of fantastic stuff! -Nelsen's Hall has a history with prohibition as alot of the door county area did back in the day. -Plainfield is obviously the resting place of Ed Gein even tho I believe his grave is not marked. Don't go asking around the area about him, the locals are NOT friendly with the topic, clearly. -Thought I'd give a little background on the ones I knew of, love the list!!!!
Mary of Elk lake dam. The bridge in the picture was taken down in 2003 if I remember right along with the hydro-power house. My laborer was freaked out (big believer in ghosts)because of the stories so I walked the tunnels back to the powerhouse. They had to go in and block off the tunnels to the powerhouse so no water from the lake could get thru. The scrap iron from the bridge and powerhouse went to Eau Claire (Toy's I think)and the wood got hauled to a landfill. We never saw a ghost and built the new bridge about a half mile away.
LOTS of haunted places and hot spot areas/places/buildings all over Wisconsin and I've spent time in a handful of them. Nothing supernatural really surprises me anymore. It is everywhere and all around us......
Indeed. A friend of mine and I found we both shared an interest in true crime and made a day trip to see where the home of the man who inspired Norman Bates, Leatherface, and Buffalo Bill (from _Silence of the Lambs)_ once stood before the town burned it to the ground. We were very cautious to be respectful and try not to make the reason for our visit _too_ obvious, but even today the people that live in that town are the definition of _vigilant._ Not that I blame them one bit, but we visited the cemetery and although we were both in our thirties at the time (older than most of the morbidly curious kids that tiny town been occasionally plagued with ever since the mid-1950's), someone drove past the entrance slowly with their window rolled down to shout that we were not welcome there. Assuming you're somewhat familiar with the story, we made a point to visit the shop where Worden's - where Mr. Gein killed and abducted the second of his two known murders - used to be. Our timing was inpeccable; as we entered the hardware store, it was apparent that someone had just spilled a large amount of red paint all over the floor. I'm curious if you'd be willing to share: Growing up so close to such a story, was he your "boogeyman," so to speak? My parents wouldn't have gone so far as to use it, but my sister (who's 11 years older than I am) was definitely sadistic enough to scare the hell out of me with threats that the Boogeyman would take me away if I didn't go to sleep without another word. Was he ever used in that capacity around there?
Nelson's Hall is on Washington ISLAND in Wisconsin.

Rumor has it that the owners of Summerwind want to rebuild it, using the original foundation.👍
A lot of these places look very familiar..
Summer wind home is the one in Vilas County. Been there many times. It burned down. I have many pictures.

Why dose every state in the USA has at least one haunted area location?
Maybe due to previous civilizations, now those civilized pleases are abandoned and hence become haunted locations.
Because demons are everywhere.
