    It amazes me how they are able to survive in such a harsh environment. What comes to mind is, what in the heck do they do when they get out of the hot water? Wouldnt they freeze to death being soaked with water and in a frozen environment? It's not like they go to a locker room and dry off with towels or anything. They must be very uncomfortable when they get out. They probably stay int he pools as long as they can until they get hungry or night time in which case they must be constantly try to get dry and brush off the frozen water from their bodies.

    • @cococatpirate1686
      @cococatpirate1686 Год назад +1

      They can get into a natural hot spring whenever they want ( to keep themselves warm ), even at night cause it is not a zoo.
      This is their territory, so to speak, they have a favorable territory with their own hot spring. In this place, monkeys are more advantageous position than us, and human beings are just begging them "Can we pass through your territory and take some pics?"
      If they feel a little bit hot while staying in the bath too long, they can get out of the spring any time.
      Sometimes, they scramble for mandarin oranges flowing on the hot spring, and eat in the bath.
      They can do anything they want:)

    むかし、湯田中には、長野電鉄でなんども行った。目的は志賀高原のスキー。温泉に浸かるニホンザルのことは、まったく知らなかった。思い出は、ふーふー吹きながら食った駅ホーム立ち食いの信州そば、月見だったかな。と、収穫が終わって雪をかぶる車窓に観るりんごの木、木、木、木、、、、。それにしても、スノーモンキー動画のアクセス数がすごいですね。海外に対し、ネーミングもよかったんだと思う。スキーをする人がこんなに減るとは考えもしなかった。きっかけはゲレンデをぼこぼこにするスノボーの登場かもしれないね。当初は滑走経路を別けたりしていたけど、時代には抗えず、そうこうしているうちに、遠くの寒い中へ遊びに行く元気もなくなった? 癒やしの野生+自然風景のほうが観光資源となる時代になった? 移住希望先人気ナンバーワン県、がんばれ。

    They seem to get along a lot better here than those in the "monkey huddle" video. Because it's 20 below zero celsius there they huddle together to share warmth, since there's no hot springs there. JUst like Emperor penguins do. If they didn't co-operate they (the penguins) would all die , so they put their personal differences and hatred of close contact aside for he duration.
    Those idiotic monkeys in the huddle don't seem to be able to, however, even if it's a matter of life and death. They were all biting each other and fighting and squawking, and fighting continuously. I couldn't imagine how a species that ignorant ever survived in this cold. But here, they don't have to share their personal space, or cooperate in any way, so they seem to get along just fine.. sort of.

    Nothing like a bunch of humans standing around taking pictures of you sitting in the water. These are snow Monkeys ,just the name alone was given them ,besides their thickness of their fur would suggest as they have adapted in the high altitude in the snow,in the cold since about 60 yrs ago as they had to travel up and away from their homes in the forests as the people out there destroyed the forests to build ski lifts ,resorts. They hold on tight to each other outside of the water to keep from freezing. Now they get stared at as they keep warm in the hot springs,real nice. People invade them one way and then another.When there is no snow there is just a handful of monkeys standing around in the mud. The monkey park was created to keep the monkeys from harm of farmers below who shot them for stealing their food after they lost their homes.Sogo Hura heard of their phlight and to save them,he created the park and they were lured to the park with apples till they stayed. Jigokudani otherwise known as the valley of hell.

    • @breAnnasmama
      @breAnnasmama 5 лет назад +1

      J S yep ! I agree with you totally. People are the most invasive , intrusive species on the planet and think they’re all doing such good ! Destroying habitats & eco systems at reckless abandon, stripping the land and seas of vital nutrients , resources and the very protective shelters and opened spaces so many sources of life depend on ( including
      Ours , yet they don’t see it as any way a problem that while decimating entire ecosystems, it will and does affect every single living thing that requires a food source that begins supporting life at its most basic level , all the way up to where we are at the top of the chain ). People overfish , overhunt, tear away at all the planets trees which help sustain wildlife and Create and filter rain and mist throughout rain forest canopies , they continue havinf to seek alternative energy sources while depleting land and sea , invading homes and lands of so many creatures / living things including people - all bc of commercialism and greed and selfishness and desire to have a society ( which is dependent on all the very things that have dumbed down and taken away social skills , intuition and instinct , leaving people so ignorant and helpless to survive and communicate and stay truly connected bc oh lets go exploit the world for all it has ... we’re creating things we want .., let’s go use up every vital source of what life depends on bc who cares ? Let’s gawk at how we “
      Rescue “ animals and put them in cages and selfishly have to make them have to live among us when most people don’t understand the slightest things about animal communication , non verbal cues , body language and the needs of animals and their complex social behaviors and structures and instinctive behavior ! Scientists are always trying to probe the minds of creatures while also subjecting them horrible stressful circumstances and treatment all for the sake of not daring to let precious humans be the ones who may endure pain or suffering or die or contract debilitating disease as a result of their invasive inhumane testing ... or should I say unethical bc I hate the word “ inhumane”. Such selfish bs. And let’s all go make a damn vacation site around animals habitats and like with the animals , this is even done still to our indigenous tribes of people who’ve already been exploited and stolen from , be it their Land , their ways , their cultures and rights as living beings bc all ppl really care about is either instant gratification, profit , greed , celebrity , entitlement , selfish bs always being me me me , me
      Too , oh yeah .. me too ! Everyone’s gotta have their way yet they wanna pretend to give back in this world and to sp called “ reduce their carbon footprint “ or they jump onto trendy bs just for the sake of attention and stirring bs up in society .. oh one
      Day someone’s vegan , then every one suddenly must have some gluten allergy - yet all that is is a ploy for marketing bs that people so stupidly ,
      Blindly buy into with no research whatsoever ... and while I’m all in favor of the entire food chain and balance of life being in working order , whether it’s a big cat or a shark or any other known predatory species , obtaining food is fine with me. But it should be done so just as in the wild , as animals don’t trap other animals and subject them to being given hormones , antibiotics, all the chemicals that the evil , yep - evil FDA “ regulates “ and allows ... they respect the ability to survive a day and see another to eat again... and they only take what they must have for survival.
      Humans live in their stupid world of objects and devices and wasteful lifestyles , they fill their minds with utter garbage for entertainment. Life’s about hard work and reward in blessings comes from Truly living for a purpose. Doing ones best to only take what they need , put back where they are most able , as much as possible into the world for growth and healing and repair and love and respectful appreciation that most especially now and will continue to become worse off , take for granted or have no capacity or desire to ever do anything of the like !
      It’s nothing but evident , that humans are such dependent , problematic , intrusive beings with self serving agendas and self promoting ideology that is so deep into the ways of life for most people, the very ones who think they’re so benevolent and above it all and so environmentally conscious ( omg
      Especially celebrities out there using whatever They can as a platform for more fame and attention ... they’re so falsely fake and such hypocrites , out there warning millions upon millions ,
      Traveling in their private jets , having all their expensive things, being catered to in a life of excess means for what purpose ? They’re not deserving of their lifestyle and being coddled and idolized by idiot “ fans “,,, omg I’m a fan of no one. The very idea of some moronic behavior as to obsess over some pathetic , selfish , superficial person who’s only either a puppet to an industry using them as a billboard to influence the masses and promote and push their products or services and profit or they’re simply part of the degradation of society , in the horribly selfish , evil examples they set and promote so proudly !
      The world is full of animals who embrace every aspect , every second of life in behaviors of both hard work , humility , being rewarded by being strong and surviving and working hard , where they go their whole life with a purpose driven to eat to maintain energy , to mate to pass on their genetic line and search for water sources and nutrients and try to make the best of the harsh conditions among competition in the wild for food and resources and they go thru every day trying to get by but humans use trying to get over on people or other living things. They seek for pleasure, entertainment , comfort , status , wealth and amusement and will all think their ways are right and they’re somehow bigger than they are.
      We are nothing but a blink or a single heartbeat in the scope of the world , it’s existence and the purpose and function of life and we are here for a short time and can only unfortunately take from what’s left when ppl don’t value or replenish or take care of what they have.
      I was told this as a child ... why should God bless anyone with all the things they desire if they can’t even take care of and truly value and appreciate and be thankful for what they have already. Even if they’ve gone without some things. To appreciate the fact that they’re alive and nurtured in some ways vital to our truest needs , that is what it’s about !
      We were given dominion over the living things of all the earth and this is how we show gratitude and respect for that ? None of us in this day can fully be exempt from the evils of this world and the products of wrong doing , bad examples , ignorance and many other downfalls in the world where sin and ignorance reside ... but it’s important to live life still working to be responsible, exemplary of love , wisdom and kindness to all things. We can hate the sin , hate the evil but can not hate the people or ever stop trying to be in ourselves and our lives the example and wisdom needed. We are still able to individually do something good. Even if it only benefits ourselves , our hearts and minds to be healthy and to value blessings and remain humble and meek and mild and caring .. we can’t undo the damage put on this world entirely as it’s been allowed and promoted and nurtured / coddled and celebrated for too long. But all we can do is continue to still uphold what we know in our hearts is the best for us to do. That’s not one thing .. it’s not s limited or certain amount of things as were all given gifts and abilities uniquely and similarly as well. But I weep sometimes at the destructive things people have both caused , contributed to , been products of and at the level of blindness and deafness that continues to reach out into the hearts and minds and behaviors of people , extending further its reach , to where there’s become discord and detachment and darkness so great that people can’t even see that they’re in the dark until they walk out and are blinded by the light and instead of that light being their life force and their savior and their strength and healing & source of all good things , they attribute it falsely as being the “bad thing “ they spend such time avoiding. So sad !

    You'd think the monkeys vvould vvanta hot cup of tea/coffee/chocolate . As tourists vvould probably vvant it so there'd be a concession stand vending it out. therefore monkeys getting exposed to it & snatching it . But here they seem a lot less agressive & almost ignore the tourists, vvhich is nice as the tourists then relax vvhile vvatching the monkeys. Humans alvvays seem to relax vvhenever they vvatch another group of animals going about their business .

      Norma Beatriz Alvarez Norma, these snow monkey have EVOLVED to live in this environment. They do not need food or shelter because they are built to survive this climate. Would you build a shelter for polar bears? Just stop.
