Oh wonderful. You're Portuguese too. I'm thinking of getting a ninja 250r. Need to find ways to save money. .and one area I can do it is in my commutes to work. I'm excited. Thanks for sharing these tips.
I finally got it. a 2007 ninja 250 with less than 2000 miles on it. It's a bit of a fixer upper as far as fairings. .but it's fully functional. Now I can ride on the cheap.
Nice video man... I Have a question I bought a ninja 250 2007 from a private party it is only 10 miles, you think that it needs oil change or a tune up because the bike was in garage long time....? Thanks
If it has been sitting for a while then I would for sure change the oil clean the chain/sprockets, re tension the chain or check it, check the tires/pressures, maybe even flush out the fuel clean the carb. if the bike has been sitting for over a year I would, it's just a bit of cheap insurance if you plan on keeping it.
hey man, that was a very useful video. much appreciate it. do you also lubricate the bike yourself ( all the bearings etc.. ) if so, would you mind doing a video on the areas that you need to lube , and how to do them ? Pretty much what a service centre would do when you take your bike in for service.
How often do you do an oil change and what oil dp you use on the oil filter? Thx in advance I like this video helped alot I found a ninja 250 used but in good shape and I want to keep it that way XD
so there is not any risk that u will leak oil if the o- ring seems to be ok and not dmged? i just did change the oil and i am so afraid that the oil will begin to leak but i have driven the bike 2 times after the change and i have redlined the bike several times and also ridden it in 80kph at high rpm and no oil have leaked but how do i know if there is a chance that the oil leaks?
You are wearing a nice WHITE hoodie for an oil change??! I'm way to OCD with my clothes to even imagine that. lol Good vid, pretty much the same thing i do. I have a 2011 250, its my spare bike to commute in. Its great on gas for sure, better then the bike i actually like riding.
It's always better to get a new one, buuuuuut if you are like me and forget to pick one up I usually keep old ones as spares 90% of the time the are re-usable. I've had the one in my car for 3 years haha...
man dude was gon charge me like 180 for a tuneup... i just wanna know what i need to do with oil and whatever to tune it up... thanks but what else do u suggest?
They are called crush washers, when you get your oil filter from the dealership they should come with one, if it doesn't just ask for a drain plug washer.
Unless there are leaking seals no the motorcycle shouldn't require oil. Now if you are leaking oil and need to top up in between oil changes you may want to investigate, do a compression test, leak down test, or even the numner one personal fav a visual inspection for oil around the engine/head seals.
ZipKickGo you have to add oil first, and then start it for a second to fill the new filter, wait 10 min, then check new levels and add more so its not dry.. he was pretty clear just re-watch the video..
Yeah wtf?! The oil pump will be circulating at idle so surely there is no need for this. Admittedly this is my first bike but certainly not my first oil change
@Sandip Raj Thank you for watching, I don't have the motorcycle anymore but just download a repair manual or just buy one it's the best tool you will ever buy.
Great video man. Easy to follow and detailed enough to get the job done. Continue doing what you do!
Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.

Oops I saw the end of the video and saw what oil you use lol oops but hwo often do you change it once every 2 weeks or a month?
kiddeath921 Change it every 6 months or 6000km, whichever comes first. Every 2 weeks or month is way excessive.
should you use Shell Rotella T6 full synthetic 5W40 oil for the 250r?
Great vid mate. I'm new to doing all this by myself and your vid was very good, no fucking around. Cheers bro

You just have to try not to get dirty lol.
Does it use some oil between changes ?
I'm glad you liked it and hopefully it helped you out. Thank you for the support and kind words.
do you get a specific washer or just one at like Home Depot?
why so often?. They say in manual every 10 000 km together with filter and together with adjusting valve tolerance.
i never changed my oil b4 do you think it would be the same on the 2012 nina 250r?
It should be if it's the same body style, if anything just google it or have a look for yourself.
they look pretty much the same just trying to get a general idea of what im gunan do... thanks
Please let me know the tire size of this Ninja250R.
