    I have an '04 DB9 & there is nothing more that she loves than been driven & pushed to her limits!. Rarely has anything 'gone wrong' , but AM service/ maintenance care is THE best...not cheap, but I see so many DIYers complaining about stuff, that I conclude their DIY fixes are not nearly adequate!
    Just love my DB9!

    An Aston is like any other car...its a machine and loves being used. The biggest issue for Astons is they sit in the garage,get polished and often are not driven often.

    Like the gentleman stated below…drive your DB9’s regardless of how low the mileage is, that V12 is not built to sit around and the more the car is driven the components settle and bed in for an even better drive

    One year with a Rapide S and absolutely no regrets! In fact, our bond gets stronger the more time goes on! Sound is the best part, I love taking it to the redline every chance I get. And I get a lot of chances because I use this car daily. Even in the winter on summer tires (in the dry), the beast never flickers traction control light, it’s just made to hear that glorious noise always!

      Before I ended up with my 9 I was definitely considering a rapide as well! Great cars and strikingly beautiful. Probably the most beautiful four-door I've ever seen

    6:40 - Lol. For anyone watching and considering Lamborghini. Mine was in the shop 8 weeks out of 5 months of ownership. Very expensive repairs. Todd's was in the shop maybe 1-2 days total? Doing very minor maintenance that was cheap in his case. His DB9 made me realize just how awesome those cars are - comfort, dependability, exotic flare.

      This comment didn’t age well 😟 LOL! “Fix me before ya go” I still think you had a blast with the lambo even though it slowly turned into a bummer

    I have a 2007 DB9 Volante. I always get good comments regarding the car. I bought it a couple of years ago, and I never play the radio either - the V12 sounds too good. Replacing coils and plugs was a bit expensive, but that is normal maintenance. Other than that it has been reliable and a blast to drive.

    Nice video. I had a 2005 DB9 for 6 years and used it as a daily driver. Put 43,000 miles on it. Sold it and within the month regretted it. Finally bought a 2011 Rapide that I love even more than the DB9. Very reliable cars. No big issues. Parts are very expensive but very good quality. I think the normally aspirated V12 Aston, DB9 and Rapide, are going to be collectible. They are actually very basic old school cars without the goobs of electronics that modern cars have. They were designed in 2003. You can still do most of the maintenance yourself. Try to do that with modern Mercedes, forget that. These cars are NOT maintenance hogs. Oh, one more thing, they are drop dead gorgeous.

    • @TheRustedGarage
      @TheRustedGarage  Год назад

      Agreed on all accounts. I was actually considering a Rapide before I found my 9. I ultimately wanted a two-door that swayed my decision ultimately. If I'm in the market for a four-door, I can't think of a more beautiful car.

    You can fix both the nav and the Bluetooth music with the Carplay module from Aston Installations (also available with a high res screen). Ya, it's not cheap, but if you were to keep the car it could fix your tech complaints.

    • @TheRustedGarage
      @TheRustedGarage  3 года назад

      Good to know! I knew about the nav/apple CarPlay modifications but I was unaware of the Bluetooth enhancement.

    • @LiqdPT
      @LiqdPT 3 года назад

      @@TheRustedGarage adding Carplay is going to give you streaming from your phone. If you had just a slightly newer car (2008 I think?) you'd have a 30 pin ipod connector that a) maybe you could adapt to lightning? (I'm not an apple guy so I don't know) or b) plug in a Bovee that allows streaming. That's what I have on my 2011 Vantage until I get the Aston Installations setup installed.

    • @TheRustedGarage
      @TheRustedGarage  3 года назад

      @@LiqdPT I believe you're correct, the 30 pin connector contains analog stereo left/right pins so you can do whatever with those! Should've bought an 08+! for other reasons too. Better car overall. I wish my exact car was an 08, because Im still content with the way things worked out

    Ever since NFS Most Wanted 2005, I've wanted to drive one of these cars in real life. Just last week I saw one on Car Guru's for $45,000! In about a year or so, it will be a serious possibility that I will be able to own one of these!

    • @TheRustedGarage
      @TheRustedGarage  11 месяцев назад

      You'll be happy to find out they handle much better than I thought they would! Try to buy a 2008 or newer if budget allows you. Might be harder to find but try to find a private seller, should be able to get close to that 45 number. 08+ has a updated engine design, more power, and more equipment that was offered standard.
      If you have to keep it cheaper try to get a 2006 at least with the last four of the vin exceeding number 1800(engine problems on early cars)

    I had a Maserati Gran Turismo, and if this car shares the transmission with that car, huge bummer. That clunky thing was the worst part about that car. I’m not sure it’s the same one, but you mentioned that.

    • @TheRustedGarage

      The ZF Auto is a great trans, shared with several other cars. Some of those GTs had automated manuals, that's the only thing I could think of. The trans on this was a joy to drive even with only two pedals

    I love the interior of my DB9. Check your vacuum for brake booster, you might have a leak.

      I loved it too!! I just thought my earlier car felt a bit dated compared to the newer facelifted model. I had a look for leaks and didn’t see any, I think the pedal is intentionally firm. It felt great

      If you have a vacuum leak, it will affect how smoothly your engine runs….extra air getting into intake not mixed with fuel, and not measured by MAF

    The reason that AM is held in a position over the Ferrari brand is down to engineering. Ferrari sound, looks and dynamics are great, but look under the skin and they are not built well… ‘janky’ springs to mind when you see under the body work, the welds, and building practices and materials leave a lot to be desired.

    Your comment about English cars being unreliable is indeed decades old. I also noticed that most people that complain about Aston Martins (or Ferraris, Maseratis or Lamborghinis for that matter) have never owned one and are just parroting what they heard growing up. Complete BS. Thanks for the video.
