Didn't see this at the time, but very useful. Previously had issues with running 4 CM, but didn't realise about having to add an FX loop block in the signal...sounding better already and now subscribed to the channel...
Hi! Just bought a Yamaha thr 30 it’s awesome but no FX loop… can anyone tell me if it’s possible to run the HX Stomp front of the amp, using delay and reverb on another « block » that way the distortion and overdrive don’t mix together, acting as a « fx loop » in the HX? Thanks
I know this is an older video but maybe you can help. I'm new to line 6 i have a stomp XL like you're using here. I have 2 questions using the 4 cable method. 1.) If i want to use my amps own distortion which also has a boost built into the amp but also use a delay and reverb from the XL. Using the 4 cable method would i set up the block chain and just need to add an FX block then reverb and delay? Would the distortion from my actual amp come through with the reverb and delay? 2.) If i want to use the same channel on the amp and go from that dirty/distorted signal of the amp itself to a clean tone. Could i then just add an FX block at the beginning of the chain on the XL and add a clean amp and some chorus, reverb, delay etc afterward? Would that go to a clean tone and bypass my preamps distortion with the FX block at the beginning? Or how would i go about doing what i want to achieve? If i put in an FX block at the very beginning of the chain would that bypass my preamp and give me a clean tone with a clean sim amp directly after? I have 2 channels on my amp one i could set flat without distortion the clean tone kind of sucks on the amp by itself though but the distortion sounds great. That's why i want to use a clean amp sim on the XL. I'd prefer to use it for both if possible and switch back and forth from dirty (my own preamp with distortion) to clean sound using snapshots and a clean sim amp. Im just wondering if i do #2 as described above if im still going to get distortion over riding my clean sim amp on the XL or if it will bypass the preamp and do what i want it to? Hopefully you understand what i'm asking. Thanks for any advice
So if my single channel tube combo doesn’t have an effects loop, what is the clear method that I would need to run in? I literally cannot find the answer to this question anywhere on the internet.
Did you guys try it? Just bought a Yamaha thr 30 it’s awesome but no FX loop… can anyone tell me if it’s possible to run the HX Stomp front of the amp, using delay and reverb on another « block » that way the distortion and overdrive don’t mix together, acting as a « fx loop » in the HX? Thanks
Bit extra details. Been running a LFR212 Laney and PowerCab112 as a stero pair for years. Find them too directional. So just odered a Twin Tone Master and plan on running it on full power, to have have max head room and feed all from Helix. All nice playing mate! Cheers from Downunder!

Front of amp if it has enough headroom... I actuall bought a Twin ToneMaster and it will be here in a few days. Hope to ditch the FRFRs

Thank you for doing these
It's ' have your cake and eat it TOO' just wow.
Any differences between the stomp and hx besides the amp models? Great video
May have missed it. Do you add any high cuts on the helix if you use it from of amp?
