Remove it. Or rework it to make it more similar to something like greedent's bullet seed
I think it was kinda dead back when ice shard+ just buff 65% attack speed, but probably because liquidation was still broken back then. Just nerf ice shard+ and see more.

Damage drop off the further the spears go.
I would rework it to be like chandelure's overheat that way you have to aim it but in return more range.
I feel like everyone ignores the most reasonable nerf to the move. Simply prevent the icicles from passing through/over walls/barriers. Bam, counter play no longer revolves entirely around defender positioning, and now the glaceon needs to be more aware of their positioning/targeting before simply letting the move rip.
How to play glaceon:
Step 1: ice shard
Step 2: auto attack
Step 3: icicle spear
Step 4: win

Like honestly icicle spear really makes something like stored power and future sight look way more fair in comparison since at least that cannot crit and has to be set up
Rework icicle spear so that it works like Greedent's Bulletseed. That way you have to aim it and it'll take skill.
Icicle spear should be like metagross' tackle and zen headbutt, where you have to aim and then the spears will follow and you can also cancel it allowing it to be a fair but not unplayable pokemon.
Whenever I say that I hate point and click no skill moves, I usually say it because of this moveset. It will never be balanced unless they make it like the first spear deals full damage while the subsequent spears deal less damage for each spear. Unfortunately if you balance it wrong, it kills this moveset.

It wasn't dead when it got those buffs like half a year ago. Just revert it back to that point during the m2y release.

@@lloydter I mean, yeah? I feel like they could just nerf the way that the damage of Icicle Spear works. The first spear deals full damage while the subsequent ones deals less damage compared to the first one.

I am a firm believer that point and click moves should never do more than 2000 damage it's just so unfair
I think two things that would help a lot is either adding falloff based on the distance the icicles fly, or entirely reworking it to be a skillshot, maybe something similar to Sylveon's swift
Glaceon is the embodiment of no skill
I’d say stored power espeon or Mewtwo fits that bill more but Glaceon is close behind
My dream nerf to this monster is so that it cannot build it's icicles on wild Pokemon/objectives anymore, only on players. Similar to Buzzwole on release when he could only build muscle gauge on players.
We see how well that went lol, Buzz was terrible
thats garbage. if anything just make it take more hits to build it up all the way. that would be the easiest nerf. glaceon only is a problem in teamfights imo, solo its incredibly squishy if they arent skilled

I think moreso, Glaceon and mons like intelleon need a rework on the range of their point and clicks, like I said in another comment, their point and clicks should work just like sylveon sweet kiss where of course the effective range of that move will be higher than sweet kiss, but once the opponent gets out of that range, the move should stop doing damage, it adds a layer of needing good positioning for the point and click to work.
That's just overboard.

Tbf, they need to start those bug tweaks to those color emblems, cuz its hard trying to win games using icy wind. The only thing spear needs is a bit less scaling for early game while the plus move stays untouched. Looking forward for a cd buff to icy wind. Also when is cinder getting an atk buff?
Meanwhile every time someone discusses this on Reddit all people say is the poor thing needs its passive because otherwise it's so defenseless lol

Cris people are saying that if you nerf the damage from icicle spear itll be unplayable. meanwhile, ive been saying forever leave it how it is but give it less crystals. why tf does it have 8? give it 5-6
Make the spears do less damage the further enemies are. Encourages you to start closer and not back away, and means a better chance of your target escaping.
I think a good nerf would be make the spears disappear or at least do less damage if they travel through a wall. It still probably wouldn’t be enough tbh but it is a lot to expect from ur random teammates to body block for you
And maybe cancel the spears if she gets stunned. The annoying passive is already enough. Keep the damage the same and buff liquidation 🫶🏻

Why is it a 4/6/8 pokemon, why does icicle spear have aoe damage, why does icicle spear have zero cooldown, all very good questions.
I know what you guys are mad about but i think icicle spear is the only good thing going on with glaceon and if they nerf it that mon would be literally unplayable. Bcuz icy wind has worst early game and its unite is not even good

I think those zero brain Pokemon should be reworked completely. It can't be that it is so easy to deal so much damage without even using more than one braincell. Glaceon, fire rabbit and machine gun owl are the worst. If you would have to aim at least.. but no. Just pushing one button. A woodpecker could play those Pokemon perfectly

The thing is that icicle spear was balanced. But nope timi decided to tweak with it for no particular reason and now you have no down time on its abilities compared to before.
Just make the spears vanish after they have traveled a certain amount of distance and its good
All they have to do is remove the infinite range and its not like they cant, azu ult was recently bugged when using it on a hoopa that is teleported,
They fixed it, now it gives a exclamation mark and stops the ult.
Its so elementary how to make spear balanced, just give it a max range and call it a day.

That's for icy wind. Icicle spear doesn't need any CD reduction bc icicle spear already cuts time off of ice shard's CD when casted.

Just rework it I doubt it's a hard thing for timi to do they simply chose not to because a lot of people play the mon exactly because the low risk high gain of Icicle Spear
Glaceon has been a menace ever since it released, every time its been Buffed, it dominates the meta and they need to nerf it again, and when its viability drops they try to give it a boost and it spirals out of control
