what really gets me is just the way eugene side steps every question vincent asks about what he’s going to do while he’s gone
If Eugene had let Vincent in on his plans everything he'd worked for to get him into Gattaca would be a waste.
the way eugine without a second thought deflected every single one of vincent’s “where are you going” questions was beautifully written and acted
vincent asked jerome, what he will do when vicent is gone. Jerome said *im going to finish this*, and finishes his wine. this was so shocking when i knew the ending, it has two meanings. his gonna finish the glass/ his gonna finish this life
This is one of my favorite scenes from the movie. The first time I saw this I thought the scene was going to end after Eugene said he’s going to finish his drink. I don’t know why but I feel like a lot of movies would have stop there but it kept going. Then we got that great part where Vincent puts smoke in the glass. I know it’s a small thing but it’s little things like that that just sticks with me. Such a great movie
No cause something about the way he blew that smoke in the cup…..also Eugene was evading his question but at the same time he ends up answering it

Gays have never experienced healthy platonic relationships so they see all forms of brotherly camaraderie or best friendship as romantic. There’ll probably be comments responding to me acting shocked that I said this as if it’s overkill, but it’s the fact of the matter for most gay people who try to project their miserable identities onto popular media or “claim” them as their own
Seriously as soon as I finished this movie I had to search for comments like this I felt like I was going insane
The thing I never understood is that Vincent went to all that trouble to hide who he was and, in turn, his health issues, but he also smokes.
Imagine after a year on Titan how Vincent would react to finding an empty wheelchair and human ashes
Love for the true brother he lost. A piece of himself “Jerome” missing. A sense of mission to keep living as Jerome as that would be what Eugene wanted

That's of Vincent makes it back. He's got a bad heart, so who knows if he made it past low earth orbit
