Also have the Lifetime Tumbler (different style) but one thing I added was a rubber tub underneath to catch the effluent that drains out, this compost tea is great to add to your plants and if your tumbler is on concrete that dark tea will stain the concrete.

That is a great idea! I will start doing that now!

I would suggest that you keep the old bin for dried leaves & twigs or whatever you use for your browns in your area. That way, when you add kitchen scraps to your tumbler, you just reach into the old bin and add your brown ratio. The lid keeps it dry as well. I have the exact same bin and that's how I use it.

It was pretty fast. Made a good batch of compost in about 3 months. The AZ heat does help it along.

Thanks for the video. I was not putting enough water in mine. Can I use coke, beer and amonia for an activator? Just wondering because it is in containment. I don't want it to blow up. Thanks.

Yes you can use it. Should not cause a problem, but as it is with everything try it in a small batch first before you go big.

i think you added too much water as food scrapes release too much already i have this problem now and bugs is everywhere.

I'm wanting to start a garden this year and I'm thinking of doing composting. I have never composted before and have been looking at buying a similar composter. How do you separate the ready material from the stuff that still needs time composting though? Thanks

@ryanod21 It took 3 months to make a full batch of compost. It is faster than the stationary compost bin next to it that takes about a year.

Throws 5 gallons of loosely shredded pepper in 80 gallon container and wonders why it just covered the walls lol

Keep the other composter to store the compost in. Just take some wire and ripe the wire around it to keep it from coming apart. Let me know if you agree with my idea.

can you put worms inside, or would it be too hot for them?

Is it hard to put together? I saw one review that said it was difficult.
