A handy way to prepare bucktail, reducing waste and saving time. This allows you to cut and go with already mixed and stacked bucktail for each individual fly.
I'm about to buy some bucktail for spring salmon patterns and had some puzzlements. I thought: "I know, I'll just hop over to youtube, type 'seán woods cascade' in the search box and put my questions in the comments section." But no need! Thanks for this great vid on a topic I've never seen covered, Seán!
That super glue trick is excellent lad, I'd no idea it'd stay wet on the foil. I do something similar up to the super glue bit but usually end up hitting the wee piles at some point and scattering bucktail everywhere 🤣. Loon zippy, I think it's the extra large I have, I do a fair bit of pike flies, the £ would make your eyes water but it honestly is good for doing big batches of bucktail
Glad you found it helpful. On the loon zippy, if it saves you a good bit of time it's surely worth it. Mixing and stacking bucktail for each individual fly is a pain and you waste so much in the end, which also costs in the long run 👍
Hi Sean. The Deer came up with a fantastic storage device called a tail, we invented scissors and stackers so why exactly do we need this "preparation" unless we actually want the extra mess, the super glue all over your hands the fixed blend at tying time. Sorry but I can not see one advantage to this.

Glad that you found it useful Tim and good luck with the tying 👍
Great tip, will definitely give that a try. Much easier and quicker method. 👍

No worries at all Ryan, thanks for watching 👍
