So first, yes I'd like more content on this as this seems like a great option above the ACF free plugin which I currently use. Secondly, I'd like to see how this would work for a photographer's portfolio website where they need to update the images and galleries regularly This most especially I'm looking forward to as I will be working with more photographers this year
I’m right now looking for my best Dynamic data tool for my stack which is the following (some plugins only): - Bricks - Advanced Themer - Bricksforge - Core Framework - Brixies - Surecart From ACF, JetEngine, Metabox, ACPT. Which option is recommended? If you have any other options please let me know I’m interested in a lifetime option but I can live with a yearly plan.
There's a Google Docs called "Plugin Comparison - Content Types / Custom Fields" (I don't think I can post links, so Google it) that compare all of the features of all of the CPT plugins.
@@youtut I bought a LTD deal from Crocoblock a few years ago and JetEngine has been amazing so far. It is also compatible with Bricks. You should give it a try, their CCT is blazing fast and works with 30,000+ posts.
I still use and rely on ACF Pro. I have the Ltd for JetEngine, ACPT, MetaBox, etc., but still go back to ACF. Is it the best? It greatly depends on your needs. MetaBox has the ability to store data in it's own table, which is a big benefit of you have thousands of records to search against. JetEngine has a lot of additional features that you can enable as and when needed and he Query Builder is very powerful, but some say that it is bloated. For every positive, you'll find a negative. So it's best to identify your use cases and buy the tool that best fits that.
I can't find any info - Are galleries in the pro version, like they are in ACF? I wonder if this new lite offering is in response to the whole ACF WPEngine Matt conflict, to pick up new users for the metabox ecosystem. The cynic in me wonders if some kind of a bait and switch might coming down the road...
Had a quick play to see if it could help on a current project but it fell down when it came to putting the data into a Gutenberg template. I needed the Pro version, not great when FSE is getting pushed by the powers that be. Back to Pods I go.
@@WPTuts It's basically just a group field that you can nest (with other fields) and then you clone that group. So it's structured a bit different, but it works the same on the front end.
Looks good. I'll give it a spin and drop some feedback on how it compares to Toolset. Being free and with so many fetures built potentially makes it an alternative contender for me. It also has a migration from Toolset, whichis an extra bonus. I was keeping ACPT in mind but this looks like that mightn't be necessay.
Thinking about sucking it up and starting to move away from elementor pro, looking at the meta pro, but now I will try the free. Pairing it with dynamic wordpress shortcodes and just learning the guttenberg system. I right now I'm in the process of building a blueprint WordPress site once I get all the pieces together I wanna roll out like 50 WordPress sites this year if possible. As you can tell get that gets pretty expensive with a ACF pro and elementor pro. so looking for alternatives. Most of the domains in my portfolio are niche sites and it would be good to get some sites shelled out on them with analytics and see which ones deserve more Time investment. For now I'm just trying to keep the cost down. Thanks for the video. A video I would like to see would be Gutenberg, metal box, light, and dynamic short codes. Please reply to this come in when that video is posted. Thank you lol
Kinda odd they dont show the different fields available, or compare differences to pro on their webpage. If this has repeaters and gallery, then i would switch. But cant tell
@ When I am building themes or plugins, I use metabox (embedded within theme or plugin) And for building websites with builders or blocks, ACF is still the viable option

Great one! Does somebody know, is Jet Engine the only plugin with Profile Builder functionality?
Hey, I think ACF has that even in free plan. You dont need JetEngine.
cozmoslabs has a pretty full feature profile builder.
I’m right now looking for my best Dynamic data tool for my stack which is the following (some plugins only):
- Bricks
- Advanced Themer
- Bricksforge
- Core Framework
- Brixies
- Surecart

I'm curious, too

A comparison of more complex tasks with ACF, JetEngine and Metabox would be good.

You can use thw Advanced Imges in the Lite version of Metabox for gallery functionality. I've just tested it with Bricks and it works like a charm. :)

The repeater region can only be accomplished with the premium extension (MB Groups).
That makes sense. :)

@DerekDirk92 yeah, it works the same as ACF Pros repeater regions.
Yep.

@@vaughanprint my updated ACPT review/demo is coming out tomorrow too. 😉

Repeater or Group field is only a Pro function, For the gallery (Image Advanced in meta box) it is available in the lite version
Pretty late to the party, I believe.
Agreed. Meta Box free was a lot clunkier when you had to work with a bunch of extensions and generate the code for fields externally on their site.
What do you think is the best tool in this genre? ACF-Pro or what?

Me or MetaBox Lite?
@WPTuts Metabox Lite, of course. You are always providing information as soon as it’s available.
Finally... ditch acf and use metabox. Superior in all ways and... LTD
