Loring AFB--I was there too, for 2 years before getting reassigned to Puerto Rico, back in the early '60s. Loved that environment (but winter a trial).
Thank you, CBS Sunday Morning. Your video reminds me of being in Yellowstone in July 1974 and my mom waking me and my two older brothers up at about 5 am or so. We quietly went outside, and there -- through a narrow, long (tube-shaped) viewfinder -- we saw a moose. Unforgettable.
I remember the Sunday Morning days with Charles Kurault when the Nature segments were over 2 minutes long! Now these segments are squeezed into less than a minute (and even less than 30 seconds!) segments. SIGH.........just when we need them to refresh our COVID-19 depressed spirits. Thank you for posting these beautiful produced segments onto You Tube!
Thank you for posting so quickly. RUclips longer, more special than what I was able to tv view. Your "moments of nature" have always been special but being locked down etc, personally these needed more than normal. Lucky to catch young moose; good to see the nowadays "we'll get through this" as perhaps true - aka new life still happening in spite of pandemic.
That photog deserves a medal. Assuming it was shot this year then the black flies and mosquitos must have been horrendous. It can get so bad in the North Maine Woods that it can drive the moose all the way to Massachusetts.
@Amy Sternheim Thank you Amy carpenter I meet on the job has a camp in Millinocket got a invite to labor day weekend will check it out hope you have a nice summer !!
Since CBS Sunday Morning became "liberal" political propaganda, the nature moments are about the only thing I watch on the show. The animals don't tell me my life would be better if I became a serf.
Great place to find some peace of mind...
I lived in Limestone Maine for 3 years while in the Air Force, beautiful state, great people, will never forget it.

I sang at the restaurant called Yusef’s just off Ft Loring AFB. The soldiers were great to perform for. I never saw a moose tho.

I remember when these clips were less than 15 seconds.
The best part of the entire episode.
It's great that CBS brought back the longer features on natural places. For a while they were ridiculously short, as if no one really cared.
Extended nature videos are so relaxing and essential during these times.
Thank you whoever makes these 🤍
the sound of the water in this one; pure beauty.
My soul needed this
We need more good news stories like this on CBS!
