Be careful with essential oils and essential oil diffusers as well. Some essential oils are toxic to pets I know ow of several people who owned these and there pets had to be rushed to the Vet with nervous system issues, seizures, three pets died. Please do your research with any of these items especially essential oils. You are better getting products that are phthalate free.

Even 'non-toxic' oils can still pose a problem to animals, especially cats! Just because it's "natural" doesn't make it safe guys, please be careful!

p.s. my favourite way to freshen up the home is to boil a pot of spices & citrus peel on the hob (please be careful about leaving it unattended!), especially in the winter time - it smells very festive. Just chuck whatever spices you fancy (I prefer whole spices for this but ground works too) into a pan full of water and leave it on LOW to simmer. Top up the water when it gets low and voila! Cheap, natural & easy!

Gurl, you're not tripping! I *hate* those things. Scented candles and especially those "air fresheners" give me instant migraines and plug up my nose. Always have! When I'd visit my MIL's house and she'd have scented candles burning, the plug-ins, and that blue stuff in the toilet, the first thing I'd *have* to do when I visited was run around blowing out all the candles and unplugging the plug-ins and put them in the garage and remove those blue cakes from the toilet bowl. They all have the same effect on me, and I get extremely ill. It's like almost everyone I know uses these darn things. I'll never understand it. I always knew they were poison. Ok. So I have a trachesotomy which is literally a tube that goes straight to my lungs to help me breathe. I also use the bath and body works wallflowers. A lot of people with lung issues are known to be sensitive to fragrance (including myself -I literally can't wear perfume or body spray. I'm pushing it with scented lotion.) and no one that I know of has had an issue with the bath and body works wallflowers. If it doesn't work for you, I'm sorry but that doesn't mean it's bad. My lungs which are insanely sensitive to almost everything have no issues.
Also, even if they are bad. I'd rather have it smelling like peach mimosa than farts any day of the week.

I used to have a plugin for the bathroom (like most folks do), but after I moved and had very little space to plug stuff in in the bathroom, I left it with my dad and stepmom. Glad I did though, and not just because refills are just a pain to buy - but I have a cat. I don't let him into my room / bathroom, but if it wafted through the air and was let out or something, it would just come into the living room.
I'm very sensative to smells anyway so I don't use air refresheners, even though I do like fruit scents (not citrus, but things like berry or peach that are rather uncommon, tbh).

I use my perfume under my pillow or bed headboard and sofa too. you can use long staying incences and refresh the air in your room with opening your windows and on winters you can just leave one window open to have some air circulation. Also washing the pillow covers with perfume or essenstial oil since on fabric they tend to stay longer so the smell will be felt for longer.

I am Toxic free after reading an article on the toxic that remain in homes from using clean and supplies and etc. Basically you're home it's more toxic than outside.🤷🏽‍♀️

My babies nose was runny one day after watching a video on it and I immediately stopped using them. Also they like to stand by it and smell them

I need to find chemical free candles. ASAP. I love to burn candles but sometimes my allergies get to me and I have to blow them out. Thanks for sharing 😊

I have 'reactive airway disease' and I'm allergic to EVERYTHING!!! Those plug-ins would take me out! Always listen to your body. Stay safe everyone

I hate those plug-ins. When I was selling my house the realtor plugged those in all over my house. When I returned from a trip and walked in ... P U !!! I immediately threw them all out. I'm with you, Open A Window. I don't use candles, either....except I did get one for a gift and I keep it in the "guest" bathroom.

I'm afraid of it being a fire hazard. Like just light a candle.
Sadly my grandmother has allergies to fragrance, so I can't do nothing 😭. I like to light incense.

Im gonna show this to my bf. He loves scents and recently got a "pet safe" glade plug in since was have a dog and cats. I hate it cause it's pike im walking into a thick wall of it. He also had one of those automatic oil diffusers years back back had to stop using it cause I would always get very queezy when I smelled it...maybe it was the brand?

Those plugins almost unalived my dog and gave me lots of headaches, so definitely look into much safer alternatives. Only option thats been really safe so far is the Pur smartplug, but jeez its expensive.

Please be careful with laundry soap too. I am super sensitive to harsh chemicals on my skin. I get hives.

Yes! I hate those air fresheners. I rather sit in a stinky toilet than have those chemicals all in the air going into my lungs.
The very first time we had it in our house and was used I noticed that it would stick to anything, especially your mouth. I would get headaches from it.
I use an oil diffuser in my room, I love the lavender, mint and citrus one. Never got a headache from that or a nasty chemical taste in my mouth.

Be very careful using anything scented if you have pets that groom themselves. The particles of what ever you're using are not only in the air but cling to anything they come in contact with from food to fur. Also check if it contains anything harmful to your pet specifically: ie; lavender is toxic to cats.

I stopped using these years ago. Not only shouldn’t you be breathing in chemicals all the time but they stain the walls as well.
