I was born here and lived there for 18 years before moving on for work, I always come back to this video just to see everything again. So excited to go home tonight!
As a life long resident (30+ years since i was born in Exeter).... I'm shocked you wouldn't mention our flourishing tent culture (usually only seen at night as the police chase them away before dawn), our park life.. (you could ask them but they've probably OD'd by now), and not to forget, the horrendous glass and steel structures being erected...how original and culturally unique....
I just found out that is where my ancestors where from, the Geer family. An uncle sent his orphaned nephews, one of them being my ancestor, George Geer, to America, so he could claim his brother’s inheritance in the 1500-1600s😮
So much for sharing genuine city authenticity! I'd rather know the truth than be shown a lie. I'm researching Captain Joseph White.I don't have my notes in front of me to tell you the exact era. I keep thinking of the possibility of DNA acquired tendency towards skills and scenery, that there may be a sense of deja vue if I keep looking hard enough, far enough back, catch enough associated names, etc ..
@@DaisyDachshundCrunchesI am from Exeter and I have heard this name before a few times. It was a well known name to me. 5 generations of my family have been in Exeter as far as I know but it could be more so a few names pop up from time to time that I recognise.
The 2011 restoration of Albert Museum was pretty pathetic. It wasn't a great improvement at all, and in fact many Exonians believe the money was largely wasted. It's old "Museum" character was lost in the process and the new Museum is slightly sterile in places.
