  • Construction of Pasacao-Balatan Tourism Coastal Highway by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office 5 continues as the said office receives a total amount of P405.6 million from 2018-2020 General Appropriations Act (GAA).
    The project includes 40.69 km coastal road with 13 bridges covering five (5) municipalities, namely: Pasacao, San Fernando, Minalabac, Bula, and Balatan, and fifteen (15) barangays, namely: San Cirilo, Balogo, Bical, Gñaran, Pinamasagan, Cotmo, Bagolatao, San Antonio, Salingogon, Hamoraon, Itangon, Caorasan, Camanghan, Pararao, and Luluasan.
    To date, the project has 2.06% accomplishment based on a projected cost of Php 14.972 billion and completion in CY 2022 and beyond.
    Other than eco-tourism potentials, when completed, the traffic condition for residents along the project line will be reduced. Travel time between Pasacao and Balatan will be reduced from two (2) hours and twelve (12) minutes to forty-one (41) minutes and will benefit more than 4,000 travelers per day.
