It is good that they came up with idea of merging if they increase village and add new defences and new troops game will become complex and at higher levels it's already filled with many buildings. I miss the era when we used to be on th 5 6 and we used to enjoy simple troops with simple bases and more strategies now any one can spam electro dragons use invisibility etc to take down th easily
This also solves the problem of having too many buildings on higher town halls
Finally supercell is coming up with interesting and unique updates rather than just level upgrades. This will help keeping players' interest in game.

Ricochet cannon & Multi Target Archer Tower will tear apart queen charge strategy. Also, rip unicorn with queen. I don't think so super archer blimp is gonna survive anymore on th 16. Some new meta strategies should be coming soon unless pros find out a way to make these strategies work with some changes.

I think we can do it with canons but not arch towers because we need them to Target air troops at long ranges at all around the base and merging them will decrease the air defence range
But I think if we would do it with archer towers it could make dragon and lalo attacks difficult
