Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

I was so mad that the livestream cut off the start of their performance to show Valerie June. I love Valerie June but the Avetts were literally all I cared about. Oh well it was still really good

She's a touring member, not a full time member! Sometimes they just play as a 4 piece without a drummer too!
