when i knew sunmi was on wonder girls i always try to find her in their old videos but i couldn't pinpoint who she is because of this big difference wtfffff
The problem is not her visual, if you see the right videos you will end up finding her. But she was not there all the time, she left and than was back, so she really isnt there in some videos (2010/2015).
She is noticeably more expressive with her dance moves and she looks like she's having way more fun with her facial expressions. Idk if that's really from all her experience throughout the years and she's more confident, but I guess it can also be true that she's happier now that she's not under jyp ent. There's definitely a personal charm to the lyrics and MVs of Gashina, Heroine, Siren, and now in 2019- Noir. They're all bops that's for sure!
well, her persona was a little bit more sultry (Since 24hrs and full moon), and she had to sing with this singing-whisper technique JYP likes. Gashina was explicitely made to give her more freedom (: I dont think she was unhappy in JYP though, she still mantains a good relationship with him.
Shes amazing live and can really sing. She has a sexy stable voice and i can tell JYPE still trained her so damn well. But she really is confident and energetic more nowadays!

I listened to wonder girls a lot in high school but even I couldn’t recognize Sunmi in her solo era vs the wonder gurl peak era. Her voice has always been stellar but JYP really didn’t let her shine, especially her out of this world visuals and presence. I love her as a soloist and I’m so glad we get to enjoy her current work!
maybe some people from the current generation don't know wonder girls. they debuted in 2007 along with SNSD and they were very popular at that time. (Original members Sunye, Yeeun, Sunmi, Sohee and Hyuna) but when Hyuna left the group she was replaced with Yubin. After that Sunmi left or hiatus from the group to continue her studies and she's position was replaced by Hyerim. after finishing her studies she made her solo debut and after Sunye and Sohee left the group she rejoined the Wonder Girls. :) In 2007 I was in the second year of junior high school. I feel old.
