One of the greatest movies of all time. It had pretty much anything a person could want in a movie. I watched it not too long ago and it still holds up after all this time.
It’s simply timeless!.. They don’t make movies like this any longer… sadly.
No man can eat 50 eggs
The best one liners of all time
My grandmother had a plastic Jesus sitting on her dashboard of a 1953 ford, never forget
Agreed. One of my favorite film experiences
George Kennedy won the Oscar Award for Best Supporting Actor for this movie…Very well deserved!
That is so true, 😂🕹🎉🍿
Paul Newman and George Kennedy. It doesn’t get any better 👍
George Kennedy won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in this movie.
"What we got here is" one great classic.
A classic Oscar Movie.
My brother was named after Paul Newman's charcter. RIP Brother Luke.
One of the greatest movies of all time
Paul Newman has this character nailed from the opening scene. Its one of the finest performances by an actor of the sixties decade, which is saying something.
which is fair to say. 🎈
Paul Newman one of the greatest actor. One of the greatest movies......
It is quite safe to state both of that, 🎈
One of many Paul Newman's great movies.
He was at his best in Message in a Bottle. RIP blue eyes
Paul's best movie in my mind. In the top 5 all time best actors.
The assessment is quite objective, 🍿🎉
One of my favourite movies of all time.
a movie unlike any other. A favorite for life.
Best movie ever! It gave a lot of new actors a start in the film business, both movies and television.
well said, 😂🕹👍
Not many cooler than paul Newman brilliant film one of the best actors ever. And by the way what a film .should have a Oscar for cool hand luke you are missed.
This movie is so legendary, even the youngsters know the Failure to Communicate quote without ever seeing the movie
It was a great cast, everyone!🕹
One of my all time favs for sure.
When I was 20 back in 88 I worked in a plumbing supply, and when I screwed up , my friend Calvin who looked like Rosie Greer said to me “ Gets A Night In The Box “ it was both our favorite movie , RIP Cal 🙏 Definitely the Greatest Movie , still watch it to this day when it comes on
Thanks for sharing a good story of life, 🕹
Paul Newman one of the best!
I am so happy I got to meet that magnificent man in person
That was a great experience. 😂🕹
One of the greatest films ever, "im shaking it boss"
Paul Newmen wasn't only a good actor! He was one handsome man!!😊
And not only handsome, but also well behavior.🕹
The perfect ensemble!
Genuinely one of the best films ever made.
Paul Newman did his two best movies in 1967.
@@motionattachedWhat was the other one?
The other one is HOMBRE (1967), enjoy it, @@benfisher1376 🍿
@@motionattached Thanks 😊
"WHAT WE HAVE HERE IS FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE"!
Some men you just can't reach
Mangots to do
Comes a time when
😂
Took out that scene because of the brutality, also somehow unfit to his personality of stubborn and cool head, 🕹
This should be required viewing for all young men
"Wish you'd stop being so good to me captain." (Flicks tongue between lips) LMAO!
"Seemed like a good idea at the time" has ruined many a life.
Just passing time... Like the military he doesn't care he's a zero f*cks given type of character.
What a movie what a cast
A Classic Oscar-winning Movie.
Showing the human spirit in times of adversity......wounderful....for all those who are no longer with us: RIP
A beautiful way to say it, 🕹
One of my all time favorite movies
When you talk about Paul Newman you don't talk about one of the greatest actors that ever was you also talked about one of the greatest men because of his charitable heart
That is a great statement of tribute to a great actor.
Very true and I have helped at Newman's ranch in Malibu.
Classic ❤
Wow, how much I miss movies with slower pacing where their richness can be savored, felt, and not rushed to extinguish the essence of emotion portrayed.
the essence of emotion portrayed, what a powerful statement, 😂🕹
Well said 👏👏👏
I drove past a Georgia chain gang today mowing grass, and I think of this great movie. Yes, we still have them in certain counties in Georgia.
Best movie ever
I watched this movie when I was like 8 yrs old. Really disturbing for a young boy. Great movie. Paul Newman was the one of the kings of Hollywood in 1967.
He made another great one in 1967: HOMBRE🍿🎉
I didn’t like them all in their righty whities. Paul Newman wore boxers 😊
Super cool
…gotta say again that I LOVE these vignettes …genius thanks again
Thanks your comment, that means a lot to me, and inspires me to do better. 😂😂🕹
i'm shaking it boss
Named my son after Luke in 2013.
And sure enough, he's a natural born world shaker.
That is a beautiful statement! Your son is blessed. 🕹🕹
The end scene where the walking boss shoots Luke in the neck, and then Dragline bull charges him, breaking those mirror sunglasses...that one gets me every time..
A bonafide classic. They don't make them like this anymore.
I saw this in 1969. As a double feature and a second run movie house in Royal Oak Michigan. The other movie was Bonnie and Clyde. I knew as a kid, I just song 2 incredible movies.
You lived in a great year of 1967, lots of great movies, Bonnie and Clyde was made in 1967 too, another good movie of Newman in that year was Hombre. 🕹
Impressive actors here ...signed up quite a few "Top Notch" performers ❤❤❤
It was one of Paul Newman best movies, 🕹🎉
@@motionattached yes indeed
Sometimes nothin can be a real cool hand.
That line was removed, which gave an impression of a well-planed intention, instead of nature part of that character. 🕹😂
Strother Martin was great in this movie
...sometimes nothin, can be a real cool hand....
That was the line in the movie, I took it out because his behaviors were part of his nature, instead of a well-planned mind, 🕹
Hands down, possibly my number 2 film of all time. 1 is One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest but this and Midnight Cowboy are a tie for second place.
Your number 1 is well deserved, while Cool Hand Luke competes with Midnight Cowboy for the second spot, which is debatable, 😂🕹🍿
"Calling it your job don't make it right".
It’s my favorite movie
Both Cool Hand Luke or HOMBRE should be nominated for 1967 movies in 1968 Oscar.
One off his best performances and geo got an Oscar. No body can eat 50 eggs.😂
He finally received the Academy Award in 1986, almost 20 years later.
newman was so goodlooking they had to put saw dust down😂
I don’t know what that is but he sure was good looking!
"You owe that fella a cold dtink."
Paul Newman, and Steve McQueen are two of my favorite actors.
They were two brightest stars in 1960s.
Still holds very true with the many rascals out there..."What We Have Here is Failure to Communicate!"
Such a great movie!
A movie that you can watch again and again, 🕹😂
@@motionattached absolutely!
They couldn’t break his will power. And he only did it coz he didn’t have anything better to do. 🏆
Will power? a nice way to put it. 😂🕹
cooool!
Shaking it off here boss
What's keepin ya from livin a life? The fear of death? Well..
A great movie 🎬 🎞 🎥 🎦 📽
🕹🍿🎉🍾
Remember this: it's never the job ...it's the people at the job ...and don't let anyone stick a drink in yahh, if your sober 😅
I love Luke. I’ll fight along side him any day
That is a nice commitment. 🕹
Fun fact: in the scene with pretty “Lucy” washing the car in “Cool Hand Luke,” she was not there. It was a clever editing job as the male actors had to imagine Lucy was present and play “hot and bothered” through imagination. The scene was a blend of great acting and editing. Rest easy, Paul. 🎬❤️🎬
Thanks for sharing. The original scene has more seducing effect, I have to edit it out, 😂🕹
Yep ... you are right about that.
here name was lucille.
One great movie top 5
in my top five alltime
That is a great list, you could give me the other four. 😂🕹
@@motionattached oh man yer really putting me on the spot but... heres a rough list: pulp fiction, cool hand luke, resevoir dogs, wizard of oz, the breakfast club.... ( theres others i could throw in there but its tough!)
Thanks, the Wizard of Oz is on my list as well. @@martinedwards4522 🎈
Of the main cast Lou Antonio and Joe Don Baker are still alive.
A+++
My favorite Paul Newman movie. The whole egg eating contest turned into a way to get everybody’s money. It took me several times to figure that out. Fact. He didn’t eat one egg.
That is hilarious! 😂😂
I cant believe this only got 829 likes
Perhaps the most beautiful man ever on the big screen and that’s from a heterosexual man!
The beautiful, the cool, and the smart, 🕹
Cant argue with that, those eyes
Any man that messes with Carl spends a night in the box
What a cool guy. He looked cooler as an older man with a mustache, though.
Really? I thought 1967 is his best looking year, he made two great movies, the other is HOMBRE. 😂🕹
He didn't get my cornbread! Life had to be heavily influenced by this movie.
Late evening on the flight deck Somewhere off YankeeStation onboard USS Mars AFS-1. We watched this movie after an exhausting day of replenishing USN fighting ships during tet.
That should be a particular moment and memory. 🎈
@@motionattached Yes, precious memories. Especially sharing with grandson's❤️
Whenever I’m with a group of friends, after they tell their stories and it gets quiet for a few seconds, I say; “I can’t eat fifty eggs!” Everyone laughs. Even now, most people know that line.
That is hilarious, 😂🕹
I can't eat 50 eggs either!
"I can eat fifty eggs"
one condition: no throw up, @@Damone7653 🕹
First film I got on Blueray.
How is Blueray? Much better than DVD?
He got cheated out of academy award 😢
He should receive the academy award in 1967.
Love the do da day scene
Wow the car wash aint like that near me😂
That is part of their angry management, you don't need that, 🕹
He is a Christ figure- at the end he dies on the cross. Look closely and you will see it. The car he dies in still exists- it's a 1949 Buick station wagon now in a collection.
"Man can be destroyed but not defeated"- Ernest Hemingway
I took that end with me, and wish a cool end to this cool hand, 🍿🕹
@@truthhandler6828 I don't agree with you about the narcissist part but you are spot on about McMurphy. Know who else is a Christ figure? The blond in the Thunderbird in American Graffiti.
@@truthhandler6828 Him bluffing and then getting up repeatedly in the fight scene showed that he could not be defeated.
Some people's behaviors are out of their plan or intention, while Some other people's behaviors are out of their nature traits. @@truthhandler6828
He probably just be comfortable with his nature traits, narcissist usually behaves with some purpose.@@truthhandler6828
My all-time favorite Paul Newman film! Cool Hand Luke! I still laugh watching.
Exemple of fidelity sir Newman it s very rare on showbizzness
Mc 🧠 2:27
He is a winner of the life. 🎈
Cool hand luke was the coolest dude alive.
She breaks me up
You don’t get quality like this anymore
🕹😂🍿
Unfortunately I have subscribed to the line in my life "just passing time"
Passing time with joy is pretty cool. 🎈
great line

This is the sweatiest movie of all time.
That is so sweat for his great performance.
Wasn't Lucille in this movie?
Joy Harmon
Dennis Hopper, Harry Dean Stanton, George Kennedy, Ralph Waite, Charles Tyner and of course Paul Newman...
The only thing missing, remember folks this is the deep south, is anyone of color....
Still, an incredible film and one I watch yearly... "Shakin' the bush boss, shakin' the bush"
You are more than just enjoying movies, 😂🕹
I always thought that One Flew over the Cuckoos Nest was a similar film to this. A smart audacious non- conformist ends up incarcerated with men of average intelligence who toe the line to avoid getting into trouble with ''Cap'n'' (this films Nurse Rached). Luke, like R P McMurphy fights the system and becomes the hero for a while only to find that the system fights back. Both men gain an unexpected close friend Luke - Dragline, McMurphy - Bromden. Both also planned a failed escape and ended up dead which was essentially their quick way out.
That is pretty good movie review and deep analysis.
Thank you@@motionattached
Thanks for sharing your thought, which is quite special, these two actors had their own personas, @@wiltner
how many eggs?
it said 50 eggs. One thing was certain that Paul Newman must eat lots of eggs on the scene to make it so real,
@6:30, should have added the part where he is splayed out on the table. Such as Christ was on the cross.
Lucille
don’t make movies like this nowadays
Movies were made for hearts, nowadays movies are made for eyes, 🕹
50! Eggs
Eating contests now they eating 100 eggs in 30 minutes.
How many eggs did he eat?
“Just nine more between you and everlasting glory!”
