Welcome to the Gator X family you legends. So good to meet you and hang out on the weekend. We look forward to following your family around Oz in your beautiful van.
We have a dirt roader we fitted a HepVo valve to the grey water tank 4 years ago . No more grey water smells . Great walk around video keep up the good work.
Great video! Curtain between bunks and kitchen was a game changer for us. Means you gain extra bathroom space to get changed etc. Good choice with pot drawer, we use it for a pantry and pots go in lounge seat drawer. Overheads get too hot for food. Enjoy your travels!
Oh yes! We do plan on doing the curtain! Alex has finished work now so we doing a few little mods before we go! That’s good to know about the food, thanks for the tip! Might have to reshuffle some things 🤔😊
Great video. Your are right there are very few walk around videos of new GatorXs on RUclips. Especially the bunk version. I did not realise just how many things move around in the bunk version. We pick up our GatorX in about two weeks. Been watching your series to help us through the waiting. Keep the vids coming as you learn the ins and outs of the van.
I love your new van❤️ so nice 👍 You know what, you said you compromised on the bathroom but reality is you only need what you have! Good luck with your journey and keep the videos coming 😊
Wow fantastic! We may see you on the road… now planning on heading off towards end of February to Perth… hope we are there by mid March. Love the van, you will get used to where things are best stored after a little while… exciting 💕
Great walkthrough, the Gator X would have to be my favourite off-road Caravan, it's just so well thought out and love that Enerdrive Power setup - enjoy your travels guys and hope to see you on the road, as we`re about to do the same - cheers
Great video. We have a Gator X. Not sure if you have done so already but we replaced the skylight in the bathroom with a dark one. In our Jayco the bathroom turned yellow with the sun on it. Just for your info.
Looks great. I'm sure it will be a wonderful home on the road for you all. I don't know if you're keen on them or not but you could fit a generator in one of those front tool boxes which would allow you to use your 240v items and save your batteries when off grid. Looking forward to following your adventures.
Thanks mate! A generator is on our radar, we are just waiting to see if we feel we actually will use it before spending the money! If after a while in the road we feel we need one we will def be using this box for that! We haven’t actually done much off grid stuff so not really sure how it will go!
Hey guys great walk through . Just a thought on your bike problem I have put 4 small eye bolts on each corner of both toolbox’s and ratchet strap kids bikes upside down they don’t weigh much so fine have photo on JB owners FB page.Keep the video’s real like you have been doing. Cheers
With the gas hot water look at putting a red valve in so when off grid no water wasted goes through hot water and back into tank till it get hots then comes out your taps
Hi again , hope WA been good to you guys , anyhow was wondering how you are going with 200ah of lithium and you have 400w of solar on the roof , cheers Paul
Nice video walkthrough very helpful. We are due to pick up our Gator X in July so we have a bit of a wait :-( Have you solved the Weber BBQ flame cut off issue ? Reading around a bit I see that Weber may produce a retrofit kit for the Baby Q but it will not be available until next year.
Thanks mate! July will be here before you know it!! I have been in contact with Weber and found out the same information but not exact date on when it will be available so the options for now will be just use it as is/ gas bottle on the ground or buy another bbq that complies, still not 100% sure what we’ll do yet Thanks for watching!
Awesome walk around. Can I ask now that its been some time, have you installed the second 200ah lithium? Roughly how long have you ran the air con on just the 200ah? and also I'm still waiting on an option price list but roughly what did you pay for the extra solar panel and the carafan? Thanks heaps!
Hi Dion! No we haven’t added a 2nd 200ah battery as much as I would like to though. We don’t run the aircon off grid at all but that is mainly because it hasn’t been hot enough yet! I don’t think it’s worth it with 200ah and was never the plan for us unless we added more battery. The carafan was around $2000 and from memory around $300 for the panel but can’t really remember sorry! Hope that helps you 👍🏼
Hi guys, great walkaround! We have the GatorX on our shortlist for a new van and are keen to know how you feel about it after being on the road for a bit. Any issues or anything you would change?
Only a few small issues that were easy enough to sort out, the only thing that’s hard with the Gator x is the payload, if your going to be living in it then the weight ads up very quickly!! Other than that we really love the layout for a 18 foot van!
@@nowornever_aus Cooking outside is with the BBQ, I assume. We like the look of the Gator X but not having a cooking set outside is looking like a deal breaker for us. Asian cooking 100% in the van will not be a good thing :-) Is there an option for the outside cooking set?
brilliant so good love the tour :) as in melbourne didn’t get a handover so good to know a few things :) What is this ruling about bbqs and attaching to gas bayonettes ?
Hey Louise, Instead of trying to explain the laws myself (I’ll most likely explain it wrong) click this link and have a read, they have made it very easy to understand www.caravanindustry.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/GBA_RVB_N19.pdf Thanks for watching!
Having come across your channel recently and watched various vids you guys have done very well with a complete family 👍🏽. We are in our mid 40s with a 6 year old, its doable 😅. We are beginners at this and getting valuable info on van life and it's an eye opener. Does the TV play blu rays? And is the rain noise unbearable/somewhat annoying on the roof? Also you both have scored a new sub, keep up the awesome vids of your adventures. We hopefully starting our adventure in next few months. Forgot, do you recommend a transmission cooler
Thanks so much!! We don’t have the original tv in our van, we got rid of it and bought an englaon (we wanted the Kogan but they weren’t available at the time) I don’t think it plays blue rays but have never really tried as we don’t have any 🤷🏽♂️ As for the transmission cooler I do recommend one but don’t actually have one in our car, it’s a bit of a toss up between getting it done and hoping doesn’t fail at any time (to avoid not having warranty) or just relying on Fords warranty if the transmission fails at all ( we have 3 years warranty left) Thanks heaps for watching and subbing!!!!
@@nowornever_aus cool! thanks for the feedback , loving the big lap series we will do a couple of small trips first to get used to towing and living in a van before making the big one 😁 p.s. I may bombard you guys with a million questions on your various videos, so just wanring yas lol.
Awesome rig and walk-through guys. Curious to know though if you have checked the Royalflair Razor XT? They have a similar size van and manage to separate the shower and toilet. Keen to know if you have compared and still choose the Gator. I’m on the market for an 18ft van and doing my homework at the moment. Cheers guys and as always, safe travels.
Thanks! No we didn’t check the royalflair out, we were aware of it but our problem when we were buying was our very short timeframe in which we needed the van ready that most manufacturers just couldn’t get one for us in time! There are a few others that now do seperate shower/toilet but in fortunately in such a small van it just means you sacrifice space elsewhere for it! Thanks for watching!

A great detailed presentation. Thanks.

Where is your little shelf unit from in your bathroom 🤔. Love the layout of your van. Very clever design. 👌
It’s just from Bunnings! The brand is fusion loc 👍🏻 it is a clever design for such a small van, they have fit a lot in!
Looks great you must be very excited to start your trip

The 200ah is a struggle at times, if buying again I would definitely go at least 400ah and more solar

hi again .we just picked up our gator last week , silly question but when in transit do you run the fridge of the car or the battiery . cheers Paul
