How I interpret the story in Onew's "Dice" MV and song is that every time Onew rolled the dice his fate changed. That is why you saw him changing his look every time he tossed the dice. Throughout the MV Onew tosses the dice thinking he needs to change his fate in order to find the girl and rescue her. However, in the end, when she steps out of the elevator, you see she also has a dice, which means she also is in control of her own fate. You discover she rolled the dice in order to defeat the monsters and to allow her to meet Onew. I interpret the song and MV to be about taking control of your own fate, and if you don't like the circumstances you are in at the moment, just roll the dice and change things. You don't have to continue to be stuck in the situation you are in if you actively work to change it. At one point you see a monster with a smashed dice in his hand, which I think is supposed to symbolize how the monsters, or bad things in your life, don't have control of your fate. If you don't give those bad people and things control of your life, you will always have a say in how your dice is rolled and where your fate takes you. They literally just released his dance practice video for "Dice" less than an hour ago. And in true SHINee style, it is fire. You should check it out. :D
I love this song. It puts a smile on my face every time I hear it. Onew has always been kind of known for his ballads and OSTs so it is exciting to see him step out of his comfort zone a little and drop this bop! You should check out his live stages where he legit sings live through the whole song. Also, check out the album which is full of great songs to vibe to. Not one skip, as expected from SHINee!
