The cuts were added for the benefit of Hulu so that they would have a spot for ads to go in for the lower-tier plans. If you watch on Blu-Ray or a purchased streaming version the cuts are not there.
@@asteria5089 in the US... probably Apple, Google, RUclips for buying... FX app probably too. If you have a VPN Canada's Disney Plus has it uncut. Also what is with the cuts. If its time based ad buys... commericial/black screen at the end of the montage before the review reading... cut Niel's walk back into the kitchen with a swipe pan and cut after the last shot.
Your reaction did not disappoint to this amazing episode of TV. In my opinion this episode is the culmination of the first season with the next episode more being the set up for the second season. Such an amazing show.
Fun little details I’m betting were caught while editing but thought it’d be fun to mention given they seemed to be missed in the RUclips cut: Ritchie says “maybe” as a response to when Carmy says he probably deserved to be stabbed. He recognized he’s been an a-hole enough to probably warrant a stabbing 😅 After Carmy asks Tina to find more chickens and walks into the walk in to cool down, someone in line asked for the risotto in the background and Ritchie/Tina responded saying they don’t have it haha This is a wild episode. Fun to watch the reaction. Looking forward to the season finale, it’s a strong finisher to a strong season.
20:02 Sydney argues JUST LIKE I DO when dealing with someone like Ritchie, because they just LOVE to hear themselves talk and you just have to talk over them , slightly louder (not yelling!) to get your point heard and sometimes you have to go low to make yourself heard. The guilt you'll feel is punishment enough if it fixes whatever the issue was. 23:31 Carmey threw the dish in her face, meaning THAT was the true source of his frustration and he wouldn't admit i5.
Yep he was livid her dish he didn’t think was perfect was lauded as perfection. Carmy was showing himself a lot in this season which makes season 3 even better imo
When I first saw this episode, I more or less got flashbacks to my restaurant days, especially when I worked at Mc'Ds and at a Greek restaurant. Not sure if it was just me, but this episode made me want to get back in the kitchen. One of the things that this show captures all too well is the chaos of this type of work. No matter what level it was, but there's a reason why it takes a special person for this type of work. Not saying I'm that person, but is there something wrong with me, seeing different people react to this episode and get stressed just by watching it...and just ask them, "Wait...that's stressful to you? That was every lunch rush everyday for me!" lol
I remember seeing a comment saying "the rest of this season is kitchen work for people who never worked at kitchens. Episode 7 is kitchen work for people who worked at kitchens" and it's pretty accurate. The rest of season 1 is what slow days look like at a restaurant, this episode is the rush
This gave me ptsd. I used to hear the printer in my sleep and this brought all that back. Season 2 really takes flight for character growth and season 3 is just art.
One of the most insane, stressful and brilliant episodes of TV I've seen in a long time !!! The fact that it was a one shot just makes it even more incredible. ❤
everybody always says that Sydney crossed a line when she brought up his kid but nobody even bats an eye when Richie straight-up sexually harasses her in front of everyone. saying that she blew someone to get a good review is *not* okay and obviously hit a sore spot with her. also, to give some thoughts on the scene between Tina and Syd, it showcases just how the aura of toxicity can bleed down from leadership. Carmy as the leader sets the tone for how everyone should treat each other in the kitchen and his toxic leadership style has infected everyone in the worst way possible. all that to say: your stressed-out reaction was very much warranted.
I think the thing is Richie has been crossing lines all season long so that was kind of expected from him, this felt like the first time she fell down to play his game. Crossing the line, was probably the wrong phrase to use there but I just couldn't think straight through a lot of this lol
@@Omn1Media no worries! I totally get what you’re saying and I agree. I think it plays into the same thing I was saying in the other part of my comment: Carmy’s toxicity bleeding into everyone else. even Tina said it wasn’t like Syd and I agree. was it right for her to say what she said? probably not. but neither was any of the shit Richie had been saying the entire episode/entire season. the bottom line is, this all falls back on Carmy’s leadership style, which is breeding a toxic work environment.
@@the_nikster1 100%, him leaving everything in the kitchen to Sydney to turn around alone is so ass but she's managed to turn most everyone around with Tina being a big hurdle but Richie has been like a brick wall and even when Carmy gets into it with him daily, he's not doing anything about it nor is he taking Syd's back either. I know he's trying to divide the responsibility up so he can focus on the business aspect but he can't keep ignoring stuff like that.
@@Omn1Media you hit the nail on the head. one of Carmy’s biggest problems is avoidance. not only is he avoiding things that clearly need to be addressed with the staff, but he’s avoiding his feelings as well. I won’t say more for fear of spoilers but we see more of this as the show progresses.
I still don`t know why The Bear is in the Emmys category for Outstanding Comedy Series for a TV series, sure there are some funny moments in the show but there are dramatic moments too.
In the future, could we all refrain from speaking about episodes in the future. He will watch them and it’s more fun when it’s organic and he has no idea what’s coming.
The plague of TV show reaction comments, there are always people commenting about how they "can't wait for him to get to this and that episode where such and such happens". The perpetual hyping up of the upcoming rather than acknowledging where we are now.
Love this show and still loved your reaction of course, but these companies putting those cuts in for advertisement placing have no respect for art at all, so disappointing they would do that to this episode. Sorry you had that version Omni :/
This episode could be titled 20 minutes of stress inducing anxiety. It just doesn't let up. It's stressful to watch, I can't imagine how it must have been to film.
Yeah I was so shocked to learn that this was a complete one shot episode because of those stupid Hulu cuts. I had no clue because the ad breaks interrupted them and now I'msuper disappointed that I didn't experience it correctly the first time lol
It played back as a smooth one shot on my hulu. Odd that yours had breaks. Yes, I cheered when Sidney accidently stabbed Richie in the ass. But he took it like a champ. 😎😎😎
honestly this episode was really good but why didn't they just refund the people who placed orders apologizing for having made a mistake on the pre-orders and that was it.. like people love to blame Syd and Marcus for what happen and i get it they f up but clearly Carm doesn't know how to deal with this type of situation he also put a lot of chaos in it and so did Richie .. that shit was a work team .. a bad one
I agree with pretty much every one of your conclusions, I just want to add that to me, it feels like the reason why Carmy was talking shit about the review and the reviewer…even before Richie added his unnecessary two cents…is because he’s pissed off that someone’s work besides his is getting praised.
I feel like i miss something every time i watch this episode but... THIS WAS COMPLETELY SYDNEYS FAULT! And chose not to take blame. Also she riled up richie alot. Also i dont feel bad for marcus. It's sucks that even without ads those are still there.
