I don't remember anything after enter a random house and listen the melody of the piano, the next thing i know is i was in the coast of the beach, my team and myself were destroyed and we can barely put in on own feets, and then, when we see a beautiful and kind blond woman walking next to us, for some reason we tried to run away from her like if our lives depend from that.
ive never actually managed to get through the entire elite 4 as a kid in this region. i got through it when i played it again when i was like 16 or something but with good type matchups and an overleveled infernape

It can’t be perish song. Perish song faints Pokémon in 3 turns and only has 5 uses, this faints all Pokémon in one turn and is used on all 6 of your Pokémon
People don't remember her as the first female champion. Nor just for her Garchmop. They remember her for how she strikes fear in your heart... Then her garchomp scrubs the floor with you.

When they remake Diamond and Pearl, they need to give Spiritomb an ability that makes it not weak to fairy, so it can have no weaknesses. For old times' sake.
I'd rather have spiritomb be strong rather than invulnerable, atm he's in UU IIRC, and not even optimized for stalling. As a child I loved and dreaded fighting Cynthia but I quickly realized you can just pummel the shit out of spiritomb with strong moves and that's not very good.
No joke, would love an animated film on Cynthia and how she came to be the Champion of the Sinnoh region. What her motivations are, what she used to be when she was young, if she actually aspired to become the very best or something happened which turned her into the *BEAST* that she turned out to be. Also, because we need origin stories for the true Champions of the Pokemon world, unlike a certain someone who's name is reminiscent of burnt dust.
Based on the dialogue of the game, I think she was one of trainers set out by Prof Rowan, so chances are she holds a Pokedex. Her current occupation is archeologists/historian
After seeing her in a random house on an island somewhere in a different game, I just imagine her hanging out in totally random places. You are wandering around, minding your own business and.... this music plays out of nowhere. Cynthia is hanging out in a tree or something. SUDDENLY, CYNTHIA!
People, especially nowadays with simulators and all cheats available, tends to underestimate her. At d/p times, knowledge about nature, iv and ev training was lacking. On top of that on your first run you hardly have a balanced team, especially in a era when internet wasn't still very popular so you had no idea which pokémon were good and so on. Then you meet this nightmare. Not only she has 6 perfectly trained pokémon in terms of stats, they are all top tier pokémon, not just some random junk, she knows how to fucking use them and her team was perfectly balanced and had a response for almost everything. She was the champion
Cynthia is the only Champion who I acknowledge as powerful. Lance, Steven, Alder, Iris and Diantha are all trash in comparison to this god. Even now I save my game before I enter her chamber and I tell myself “You got this! You will not fail and lose to her damn Garchomp!”

I had a garchomp in my diamond and pearl run through and it was so OP and I thought it was absolutley unstoppable. Then, I made it all the way through the elite 4, and made it to cynthia. Right after almost losing 2 mons to her spiritomb we both switch to garchomp. Out her garchomp comes, almost 12 levels above mine and in that moment I realize how fucked I am.
mean, gen 4 Garchomp was banned to Ubers in gen 4 competitive soooooo you weren't that far off (considering that the only Uber/legendary available at that point is Dialga/Palkia....yeah)
I was passing through the team and then, I saw that name “champion Cynthia will send out garchomp want to switch Pokémon” I was filling confident because I had my weavile level 47, that motherfucker garchomp is was aproximatley 15-20 levels above me I legit got wrecked
i think they really nailed her design perfect... introducing her as a casual friendly trainer, badass outfit, insane fear enforcing music and an impossible to beat team if you arent prepared for that fight... it took me like 20 attempts till i beat her on my first playthrough
I had underleveled pokemon in the remakes and i beat her somehow after around 25 attempts. On the last attempt the friendship bonus stuff activated 2 times in a row. It had never activated in the other 24 attempts
@@duck4259 exactly, I was 10 when I first played diamond and pearl, and it took me over 3 hrs to beat her because my team was just full of under levelled pokemon without a proper team building or strategy. So yeah, now it's easy to say "in the remake I easily won", but just because we know how to build a team and how to create a strategy against the AI
I swear to god if they end up putting Cynthia in S&S I'll legit buy the switch, the game and the dlc at once just to face up against her. All the while being a student, I'm ready to sacrifice months worth of food to just right against her haha
An idea for the upcoming remakes... As we get closer to Cynthia's room, have the piano theme play louder and louder until we reach the final destination.
Just the hall before her room is almost silent As Chibi boi walks through the hall, the walls and floor slowly darken, and the further you get in, the louder her theme gets.

She was in: DP Platinum Black and White B2W2 And then Sun and moon Cynthia is one of the most recurring champions in the games, only beat by Red and Blue. Edit: now BDSP and Legends Arceus

I love how the composers really went all out for this one. They knew that Cynthia was going to obliterate you, and they created this piece to fit that.

I remember being trapped in Distortion World with no way out, nearly 10 levels underleveled for Cyrus, and then the utter HELL of trying to catch Giratina, way underleveled and with not enough good ball types, before it murdered my team and forced me to reload again.... and again......... and again...................
TheStefan1114ever Nope, they actually only did that in BW and with the title legendaries in the 3ds games. The Tapus have insanely low catch values. On to of this rereleased Pokemon have had their catch values left intact so enjoy wasting balls if there's a gen 4 remake!
No one that actually played the game ever said that. I'd say that Gen 5 is the least memorable in terms of gameplay, but it's soundtrack is the most memorable and polished. Gen 4 in the other hand, is the best of both worlds imo.

WJR HAHAHAHAHAHA No. gen 8 is in competition with 3 for the worst generations already. The new Pokémon look like absolute shit, they’re taking several out without any good reason(they could still commit to patching them in over time or as DLC), they keep switching things for no reason and aside from being on switch we know nothing as to the quality of new features or what even there all is. Gen 8 is going to be bad. As far as I’m concerned the series ended in Alola.
Remember doing a randomised Nuzlocke and she still pummelled me. Shows that it's not her team that is strong, it is Cynthia herself, the slayer of Gods.

Pound gym leaders although a bit set back seeing Fantina is 3rd gym, not 5th. Candice wasn’t as lucky with freezing.....but her frosslass caught me off guard (didn’t know it was part ghost) Pound team galactic. Pound elite four, although Aaron was a pain this time for speedy reasons. Honestly same diamonds was my first pokemon game and my only experience with the franchise prior was a bit of the tv show and a bit of pokemon stadium on 64 so I knew barely anything about types advantage/disadvantage and thought that I could win with the power of friendship with my torterra XD and also the game I had was in English which isn't my first language and I barely understood any of it at the time so I Brought this huge book about the game (which was also in English) to help me
Here it is, the theme that single-handedly gave me PTSD. I never played DPP (till now) but my first game was Black, followed by Black 2, and when I saw her standing there and I heard the piano... All I could do was panic. I WAS LOOKING FOR THE GUY THAT YOU COULD SELL ARTIFACTS FROM DIVING TO AND ENTERED THE WRONG HOUSE
No mean to be rude but it shouldn't take 8 years to learn a piece unless you're purposefully exaggerating. If it has you need to have more concentrated focus when practicing, or extend your practice sessions.

I personally feel like she is my favorite champion. I’ve always grown up with Hoenn, I’ve played Kanto, Kalos, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Galar, and Cynthia so far has just been so amazing because she shows up through your whole story as a mysterious person who just kinda arrives when needed and leaves when the job is done, she’s like this ghost, and it feels like the whole game is buildup to her, you don’t just start when you get in this room, you’re waiting to fight her from the moment you see her and wonder, who is she? What is she doing here? Why and how is she helping, WHAT is her significance? And then she just crashes down on you like the Garchomp crashed down on my unassuming fairy type with Swords Dance Poison Jab
Everytime she shows up, she offers you assistance with a roadblock. She sees you in your up-and-coming stage, knows you're bound for greatness, and refuses to see you stifled, to see your growth stunted. She offers exactly enough to get you through, never solves the problem for you, never intervenes. It's your adventure and you won't grow if you don't overcome the challenges yourself. And if you don't grow, you won't be a challenge. She lets you see the outcome of perseverance and then, when you come face to face that last time, she tests the resolve that she fostered in you. Test your might. It is all you have.
lmaooo I thought I was the only one who played for that long. I have nearly 600 hours clocked in on my Diamond version... None of my other Pokemon games have THAT many hours
the fact that they made THIS the theme for the penultimate boss of Legends Arceus is so cool, both games take place in sinnoh and they end with the SAME MUSIC, so good
Giorno's theme is kinda worse,since in 1 of ur infinite death u have to fighting against Cynthia but u have no pokemon,its real life and she sends out garchomp as her first pokemon and u dont even know martial arts to survive even a single hit

That moment when cynthia canonically wrote her own encounter theme. If you don't know, in platinum, you can own a villa where you can buy different things to fill it up. Once you buy a piano, cynthia immediately comes in, notices the piano, and asks if she can teach you a piece she composed. This of course, being that arrangement.

People, especially nowadays with simulators and all cheats available, tends to underestimate her. At d/p times, knowledge about nature, iv and ev training was lacking. On top of that on your first run you hardly have a balanced team, especially in a era when internet wasn't still very popular so you had no idea which pokémon were good and so on. Then you meet this nightmare. Not only she has 6 perfectly trained pokémon in terms of stats, they are all top tier pokémon, not just some random junk, she knows how to fucking use them and her team was perfectly balanced and had a response for almost everything. She was the champion

I had a garchomp in my diamond and pearl run through and it was so OP and I thought it was absolutley unstoppable. Then, I made it all the way through the elite 4, and made it to cynthia. Right after almost losing 2 mons to her spiritomb we both switch to garchomp. Out her garchomp comes, almost 12 levels above mine and in that moment I realize how fucked I am.
mean, gen 4 Garchomp was banned to Ubers in gen 4 competitive soooooo you weren't that far off (considering that the only Uber/legendary available at that point is Dialga/Palkia....yeah)

I had underleveled pokemon in the remakes and i beat her somehow after around 25 attempts. On the last attempt the friendship bonus stuff activated 2 times in a row. It had never activated in the other 24 attempts
@@duck4259 exactly, I was 10 when I first played diamond and pearl, and it took me over 3 hrs to beat her because my team was just full of under levelled pokemon without a proper team building or strategy. So yeah, now it's easy to say "in the remake I easily won", but just because we know how to build a team and how to create a strategy against the AI

I remember being trapped in Distortion World with no way out, nearly 10 levels underleveled for Cyrus, and then the utter HELL of trying to catch Giratina, way underleveled and with not enough good ball types, before it murdered my team and forced me to reload again.... and again......... and again...................
TheStefan1114ever Nope, they actually only did that in BW and with the title legendaries in the 3ds games. The Tapus have insanely low catch values. On to of this rereleased Pokemon have had their catch values left intact so enjoy wasting balls if there's a gen 4 remake!

Honestly same diamonds was my first pokemon game and my only experience with the franchise prior was a bit of the tv show and a bit of pokemon stadium on 64 so I knew barely anything about types advantage/disadvantage and thought that I could win with the power of friendship with my torterra XD and also the game I had was in English which isn't my first language and I barely understood any of it at the time so I Brought this huge book about the game (which was also in English) to help me

I got it easy for both milotic and togekiss because I had my electrivire, then I understood I lacked ground resist
the only problem with the milotic for shame was that it took forever to ko with recover and had debilitatingly strong water moves :P

I personally feel like she is my favorite champion. I’ve always grown up with Hoenn, I’ve played Kanto, Kalos, Hoenn, Sinnoh, and Galar, and Cynthia so far has just been so amazing because she shows up through your whole story as a mysterious person who just kinda arrives when needed and leaves when the job is done, she’s like this ghost, and it feels like the whole game is buildup to her, you don’t just start when you get in this room, you’re waiting to fight her from the moment you see her and wonder, who is she? What is she doing here? Why and how is she helping, WHAT is her significance? And then she just crashes down on you like the Garchomp crashed down on my unassuming fairy type with Swords Dance Poison Jab

Everytime she shows up, she offers you assistance with a roadblock. 1) Giorno's theme
2) Cynthia's theme

Giorno's theme is kinda worse,since in 1 of ur infinite death u have to fighting against Cynthia but u have no pokemon,its real life and she sends out garchomp as her first pokemon and u dont even know martial arts to survive even a single hit

If you don't know, in platinum, you can own a villa where you can buy different things to fill it up. Once you buy a piano, cynthia immediately comes in, notices the piano, and asks if she can teach you a piece she composed. This of course, being that arrangement.
