I got the 15 pro max in black. The only reason I upgraded for my 14 pro was just for the size. Last year I said “let me just get the pro it’s a great size. Can easily use one handed” then 3months later I regretted it. I was going to just upgrade to the 14pro max but thought that was a little crazy with the 15 right around the corner. So happy I waited
the pro size is so comfortable but nothing beats the screen on the max!! especially with the lighter weight this year, it's so much more refined :)) congrats on the new phone!
As for why the display looks dimmer on the 15, you probably have the “Reduce White Point” option turned on. If you switch it off, I think it will get as bright as the 14. I hope that helps! :))

You’re really knowledgeable about this! There was nothing crazy added this year, but the USB-C, titanium chassis and the new dimensions will finally make me upgrade to the max model. Since next year is said to be the super-cycle, hopefully we will get something crazy like micro-LED or graphene batteries!

Phones get higher brightness in auto brightness in sunnier light. Also, the peak 2k brightness is usually about 5 minutes before dimming the display to prevent overheating. Since you were doing a lot of stuff on the 15 pro prob looked dimmer in the moment to prevent overheating.

I went for the Natural titanium because I wanted something different (before seeing in person, won’t get mine til October). Yesterday I went to the carrier store to see them and wholly cow is that natural titanium beautiful. You should go see them in person before you decide.

Maybe toggle it on or off, you can bring the display brightness up or down. I find the screen too bright for my eyes, (even though I bring the brightness down and have a privacy screen.)

The difference in the back of the 15pro compared to the 14pro is subtle, light reflects differently on the 15pro camera lenses due them being outlined in titanium vs the aluminum on the 14pro

It’s likely your screen was dimming while the apps were downloading during the initial setup. The phone can get quite warm while downloading all those apps and the phone will temporarily lower screen brightness to keep the temperature from going too high.

i went from the 12 pro to the 15 pro max and its a game changer ive been seeing people say the phone is breakable if u drop it and im like duh u need a case thats why they cost so much lol people are also saying they heat up faster i havent had that issue either and battery last longer by a mile

as it relates the the brightness where you mentioned that there is a difference, there is a setting on the phone where one takes the colour of your surrounding. if you take it off you will see the difference
