Hello I am a Seventh Day Adventist and my wife(also a Seventh Day Adventist) is in 4th yr medicine and they are required to be in on duty even on Sabbath.
I think it's a compromise of the sabbath to be on duty for the sake of completing a requirement in school.
Helping is one thing but would you really report to the hospital every sabbath because you know there will be an emergency everyday?
My main question is, is it lawful for a medicine student to be on duty on sabbath because he/she needs it for requirements?

Jesus christ healed on the sabbath day, the question here should Jesus have left the sick people to die ?
No, that's isn't the work of God, God advices us to provide loving service to our neighbours. So providing life related services on the sabbath is God's way.
But if you deliberately choose to do something else it isn't right but doing things that leaves you in a dilemma is understandable to God.
The fact is that we should keep the commandments of God and also the faith in Jesus christ that's what gives us the heaven visa.
People can choose to be sabatharians but they aren't fully assured the heaven candidacy if they do not keep all the commandments and directions of the Lord;fear the Lord and have faith in the Lords promises.
Stay blessed as you continue to fear the Lord,keep his commandments and have faith in him

But make try to make time for sabbath and feel the breathe of God running through your lungs. Enjoy the day as reward from heaven with a delightful 😊 smile

@@eunicedotse7747 I've heard and read this answer a lot already and I do agree.
The question is, do you think it is lawful to "heal" on the sabbath because you are required to do so for school requirements.
If you're going to give the same answer as "Jesus healed on the sabbath", don't bother.
The thing is, I think it is Satan's trade for the medical students to become medical doctors. But why fulfill such requirements (number of hours of duty) in school to become a medical doctor lawfully (spiritually) healing on the sabbath?

If your church tells you that someone else other than you is God's Chosen, you should go shopping for a new church.
