Great explanation of some cool Wah features. I used one for years, but then abandoned my wah for over a decade (being a guitarist from Texas and with SRV blowing up, and everyone wanting to sound like him, I decided to put it up). I’ve since began using my wah again these past few years … sparingly. I love your use of it. You have a deft hand (or … foot) with the effect. Cheers - great content. (And again - beautifully filmed and edited). So glad I subbed to your channel. I’ll certainly share your channel!
Okay, great wah ideas... But can we talk about that little pedalboard you were using? Was that a Nano? What are you powering that with and what pedals (especially the wah) were you using? I think I detected a Flint at the end of the chain?
Yep it was a pedaltrain nano+. It had the wah (jimihendrix crybaby mini), cornerstone Gladio and then keeled hydra and strymon flint from another video. Power from onespot Cs6
The Chris Buck thing that he referred to is nothing that he made up. Tons of players use the wah that way. The guitar player from Tool does that all the time. 🤣
@@Pudge4400 yeah. This is not a "hack". Wtf is a pedal hack anyway? It's just using the pedal...it's not a hack. I hate that term, cause it's dumb. I'll give this kid a break though, cause he looks really young, so standard things us old timers know might blow his mind. 🤷♂😆🤣

Alkaline batteries hold their voltage steadier until the end. Nothing crazily magical about it, you can simulate this with a simple mod to most analog pedals. I tried it with a fuzz face, the sound got fizzy and acted a bit like a noise gate set high where it chops off sound at the beginning or end of the sound. Just another avenue of experimentation. :)

Jules Crommelin from Parcels does this for techno and house stuff!
he almost played the forbitten intro 😂
Right, first thing I'm doing next weekend is putting my old Crybaby in the FX loop of my JHS Panther delay. Great tip, thanks!
great video thanks
Do I see a Past Effects Chorus Ensemble ?
(CE-1 clone)
Great Pedal
No I’ve never tried one ☹️
Fascinating upload. Thank a bunch.

@@JacksonBrooksby Outstanding, thanks, mate!
Cool video. Sounds great. What wah pedal is that you’re using?
Thanks! It’s a Crybaby Mini Jimi Hendrix
👍👍🙏🤟
So do go off all 1/2 cocked ?

Right? Soon as he started playing I was thinking, let the bodies hit the floor?? The technique is all over numetal
Randy Rhoads used to use his that way in some of the live versions of Ozzy's songs.

I’ll give one more tip, take that Wah off that pedal power supply and replace it with a 9v Carbon battery it’s going to change your life! Fact…
It’s the only way I power my Wah, with a 9-volt battery from the dollar store. I dig the sound that’s produced when powering like that as well.
Same for my fuzz pedals. Only batteries.
Definitely! Batteries do make a big difference in some pedals… especially older ones.😂
@@robertkise Why would using batteries change the sound???
