This is unfortunately the staple for every professional / productivity peripheral reviews or even showcase . All of them , no exceptions . They talk about how "professional monitors help workflow" and yet didn't properly test any aspects . Just hoping viewers will blindly accept it for being "professional marketed" without further research . It seems that the only reviewers that ACTUALLY test monitors (e.g. quality control and calibration) only test gaming monitors and they refused to look at professional monitors because they think "professional has 60hz so automatically bad" bs .

Great recommendations, totally agree on the Studio Display perspective. The Dell U3223QE is also an amazing option, that's still plastic, wobbly and lacking good speakers, but the panel itself is wonderfully calibrated from the factory and more than a few creator friends have went for those after seeing them in person at the office. It doesn't fill the void left by getting rid of the Studio displays, but the value proposition is certainly there.

Just upgraded from an LG-27UK850W I think it was called, to a 32-UN880 from LG and I couldn't be happier. I bought the 27 inch LG monitor in 2018 and I was planning on using it for another few years but during a move to a new place it got dropped on a sharp part of my keyboard and absolutely got destroyed. I honestly couldn't be happier with the UN880 though (LG with the awful naming mnemonics smh). It felt like a huge jump initially, but even just for studying this monitor does everything I want it to and more. I know this video was made for creators but I feel like for most people, getting a monitor from a few years ago and on sale is more than enough for most workflows. The combination of 4K + IPS + USB C for power/display is all I need and I don't see myself upgrading for another 5-6 years at the absolute minimum. Great video and shots as always, E. Fantastic comparisons all throughout and I enjoy that you actually show the ports and their orientation, not just reading off a list and putting up some stock footage.

I've spent around 12 hours this past week watching monitor reviews, starting with LG ULTRAGEARs and OLEDS, and I'm struggling to make a decision. The issue I face is that I'm a photographer who also enjoys gaming quite a bit on the side. While I'm aware that BenQ monitors have been the go-to choice in the photography community for some time, I'm looking for a monitor that can provide me with both high refresh rate gaming at 120 FPS and exceptional color accuracy for editing and printing my photos. After extensive research, probably closer to 20 hours now, I've come across the ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG-K 32 4K, primarily because it boasts HDMI 2.1 support. However, I'm concerned that this monitor might be outdated considering the current market and the available options. Would you recommend the ASUS ProArt Display PA32UCG-K 32 4K for my specific needs? Or something else!?
Yes, it would be a perfect option, but at the same time it's so expensive, but if you want one monitor for everything, I guess it would do a perfect job. You have two more ProArt monitors with 120hz and 144hz (PA278CGV and PA348CGV). Probably your budget is way more expensive, but if you only need sRGB, you can take a look on the new PA278CGV, would be the perfect 10 times cheaper option xd. Also, you can look into high-end gaming monitors like ASUS ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM. Important: take in mind that is OLED. After calibration, can be an excellent option to edit photos in sRGB and Adobe with 90%, high color accuracy and also when it comes to gaming it's exceptional. It would be also way more affordable, 1000 euros here in Europe.
You are correct I have a 35”, the menu bar and text a pretty difficult to see. However for my purposes that’s secondary to me. I’m just loving how I Can use photoshop Lightroom and Davinci. All that real estate truly helps your workflow
Great video! However, I would like to note that it is actually possible to use a windows pc or console on the studio display. You have to get a third party cable, but it works just fine!
I've used several monitors with macos during the last 3 years of wfh and imho any 32" 4k is not the way to go - 137 ppi it way too low for macos, you'll see blurry UI and fonts on any scaling other than 2x hidpi (200%, screen space = full hd). And 2x hidpi scaling is not usable on a 32" 4k cause the UI is way too big) In fact 27"-28" is the maximum display size suitable for 4k (uhd) resolution when using with mac (ppi 163). PS my choice is Huawei MateView with wonderful 3:2 ratio, highly recommend it!

Any current recommendations for a 27inch monitor for around 300$??? I'd use it with a MacBook Pro 14" for video editing. (Color Grading would still be done on the Macbook display)

if you use a laptop that doesnt have thunderbolt 3 , but use it with a monitor that does support thunderbolt 3, that doesnt mean you can plug an external gpu into the monitor via thunderbolt 3 and expect it to work right ? i believe the laptop has to support it too ? just curious lol

another banger, i can say from personal experience I think the studio display is worth every dollar. it works flawless as I am completely invested in the apple eco system. anyone on the fence who is an apple user, GET THE STUDIO display its worth every dollar and you will never regret it. speakers are amazing
Graphic Designer here 👋 that after 10 years switched from an older iMac Studio to some Asus-Tuf Gaming garbage screen then tried a BenQ. Conclusion: Even as a starving artist, I'm investing in my own iMac again lol. Nothing beats the brightness, saturation, and sharpness of a glass screen iMac 5k. Plus if you're staring at a screen for 9+ hrs a day, your eyes will thank you for the True Tone ambient lighting. My runner-up is BenQ, but it's quality control and fragile screens make me weary. There's also a scaling issue you'll come across with non-macs products that's annoying. Coming from a Graphic Designer stance, it's iMac or nothing still. My only complaint is that I wish there was a larger 32" option that wouldn't cost me $5.5k+...Pro Display XDR you're beautiful, but No.

Nowadays monitor can produce same color with your MacBook or iPhone is more important than “color accurate” especially for content creators or your clients’ photos / videos were used in social media only, they only trust their phone to judge the colors, except the Studio Display, may I know which monitor is produce closer MacBook / iPhone color as Studio display is too expensive for me….
What’s the point in those cheaper monitors if picture is just off. Even more, from my experience the picture will change with time on those monitors. Which leads me to only one conclusion: Apple studio display, the only thing I wish to they add is local dimming zones (miniled)
i’m using the Samsung m8. I think it’s still the best 32in monitor new under $1000. The internal speakers are fine for my editing needs because my sister will fix the audio later on her MacBook for the final edit.

Actually MacBooks don't support daisy chain, just Windows for some reason. Which is a shame because you can't use a single cable to connect multiple displays, they will just mirror.

What's wrong with display manufacturers still making matte finish and only 60hz for "creators"? Glare is a non-issue if you can position your monitor or desk slightly differently. You can't do anything to fix the bad colors and black levels from matte finishes. 60hz is beyond outdated and should only be found on cheap screens.
Higher refresh rate ruins picture quality and compromises in quality such as backlight bleed and poor uniformity . I think e-sports have corrupted people into think gaming specs is a must for everyone . I wish e-sports is banned altogether . Although I also wished for more glossy options .
@@chedinbuildsstudio5144 higher refresh doesn't itself ruin any quality, it's just that gaming monitors are sold with a "eh color is good enough" mentality. I don't want it for gaming, I just want a really fast and responsive input to output experience. Though absolutely, lack of gloss is a bigger issue. It shows how uninterested monitor manufacturers are in picture quality. They're fine delivering a bad experience to the uneducated customer who thinks glare is a problem while using a glossy phone screen everywhere they go.
You're confusing advertised color gamut vs actual color accuracy of the monitors. The product stating that they're capable of reproducing 95% DCI-P3 DOES NOT mean it will display those colours ACCURATELY. The only way to know the accuracy of the displays is through calibrating them with a colorimeter tool, that scans colours at different luminance/brightness values to see how far off the target the monitor is displaying these colours. Even if you buy 2 of the exact same monitor, it will have differences in how they reproduce colour. Making a video about monitor colour accuracy without including even the basic delta E or colour deviation value makes this video moot. Overall, this video is blatantly a paid ad spot for the listed monitors, hence the Amazon links.

Local dimming is really inconvenient for color accuracy. When there's blooming everywhere you will never know if it's the graphics or the screen.
We have 2 problems in my opinion: No good OLED options. And i am missing 144hz options.

Glare is a non-issue if you can position your monitor or desk slightly differently. You can't do anything to fix the bad colors and black levels from matte finishes.
60hz is beyond outdated and should only be found on cheap screens.
Higher refresh rate ruins picture quality and compromises in quality such as backlight bleed and poor uniformity .
I think e-sports have corrupted people into think gaming specs is a must for everyone . I wish e-sports is banned altogether .

@@chedinbuildsstudio5144 higher refresh doesn't itself ruin any quality, it's just that gaming monitors are sold with a "eh color is good enough" mentality. I don't want it for gaming, I just want a really fast and responsive input to output experience.
Though absolutely, lack of gloss is a bigger issue. It shows how uninterested monitor manufacturers are in picture quality. They're fine delivering a bad experience to the uneducated customer who thinks glare is a problem while using a glossy phone screen everywhere they go.

You're confusing advertised color gamut vs actual color accuracy of the monitors. The product stating that they're capable of reproducing 95% DCI-P3 DOES NOT mean it will display those colours ACCURATELY.
The only way to know the accuracy of the displays is through calibrating them with a colorimeter tool, that scans colours at different luminance/brightness values to see how far off the target the monitor is displaying these colours. Even if you buy 2 of the exact same monitor, it will have differences in how they reproduce colour. Making a video about monitor colour accuracy without including even the basic delta E or colour deviation value makes this video moot.
Overall, this video is blatantly a paid ad spot for the listed monitors, hence the Amazon links.
The Asus monitor mentioned here has the worst color calibration out of the box ever, not a good option for content creation
