- Dr. Death streaming this summer on Peacock. pck.tv/2Q4EM8o
Based on Wondery’s hit podcast, DR. DEATH is inspired by the terrifying true story of Dr. Christopher Duntsch (Joshua Jackson), a rising star in the Dallas medical community. Young, charismatic and ostensibly brilliant, Dr. Duntsch was building a flourishing neurosurgery practice when everything suddenly changed. Patients entered his operating room for complex but routine spinal surgeries and left permanently maimed or dead. As victims piled up, two fellow physicians, neurosurgeon Robert Henderson (Alec Baldwin) and vascular surgeon Randall Kirby (Christian Slater), as well as Dallas prosecutor Michelle Shughart (AnnaSophia Robb), set out to stop him. DR. DEATH explores the twisted mind of Dr. Duntsch and the failures of the system designed to protect the most defenseless among us.

Where can we watch this in Canada (...where the lead is from...ahem)
In season 2 feature doctor Ryan wells..... he's done horrific things to patients in cosmetic surgery
This honestly scares me so much more than a horror film
For real
True, because it can happen to us in real life
Because this is based on a true story
me too
@@BcottStudios so terrifying
The hammering scenes & sound is by far more scarier than any horror film out there.
Definitely.
Dude…. Those scenes are so unbelievable they’d make Me turn away with My hand on my forehead
Like completely flabbergasted
This is perfect casting. Joshua Jackson can play the charming doctor while hiding the evil sociopath inside.
i can’t figure out if that is a compliment or not. lol
I’ve been waiting for him to play a bady...
@@fjp9 I'm pretty sure it was a compliment. 😊
Why sociopath not a psychopath???
@@TheHaloRed you’re just pretty sure of what you wrote? i would hope you would know what you wrote and how you meant for it to be intended.
I work in the OR monitoring the same types of surgeries this guy did. This story is better than any horror story out there for me. The podcast was phenomenal.
It was an amazing Podcast. Dr. Duntsch is in no doubt a sociopath. Be interesting how it converts to a live action adaptation.
What's the name of the podcast ?
Neuromonitoring? Same.
I agree. The podcast gave me a whole new look on doctors and how much trust people put in their hands without truely knowing their intentions or even their skill level. Puts a whole new insight on “fake it till you make it”
@@mdc1250 yep. I shared the podcast with everyone I know in IONM.
"I don't have complications" that's a HUGE red flag. Every doctor has had a complication. Every one. Anyone who says they didn't, the only 2 explanations are that they're either lying or they're unaware. Both are dangerous.
💯
The fact that its based off a real story (stories) is frightening
This guy was and IS a piece of work. From what I understand he still asserts that he did nothing wrong. This case also shines a MASSIVE and much needed light on hospital/clinic hiring practices!
It’s disgusting how liars will always say they did nothing wrong. Even after they’re caught
Just watched this series and would highly recommend it to others, great acting and a horrifying story. What this narcissist did to his patients is beyond belief.
What is worse is that so many doctors get away with this behavior
He seems like a psychopath to me
I didn’t know it was a true story. I used to listen the podcast…..
Yes this is a true story, check out the doco trailer here: ruclips.net/video/gHuE_RgTEi0/видео.html
Watching it now
Glad he is no longer a doctor
Astonishing performance by Joshua Jackson. Perfect performances by every single actor in this show.
Such an astonishing story. I love the final line "this will happen again"
Medical malpractice and mistreatment isn't taken seriously and it should be. A crooked doctor can be more dangerous than any other profession
Looks outstanding
Actually it looks very cliche and unimaginative.
@Being Scared
have you heard the podcast?
@@boromirinokripperino3928 then I'm sure you can recommend us few simillar shows
It’s based on a true story. If you’ve heard this plotline before, that’s probably why.
Right?!!! Fell in love with Joshua Jackson's work in Fringe and I have not looked back 👌
I'm still on episode 5 and I came here to say it's been a while since a show managed to pull me in and get me hooked. outstanding acting. this is by far the best series I've watched in a while
Josh Jackson back on the screen .... that’s been my guy since the mighty ducks !
throwbackkkkkk
Having just watched some of Fringe, I immediately knew who this starred from the voice!!!
I LOVE Fringe!
Peter Bishop!
@@TheHaloRed Yeah that was a shock to see/hear!
I saw a shimmer, and knew it was the man from the other side...Fringe fans will get that
I want to watch this if only for JOSHUA JACKSON!!!!
Josh gives me shivers with all of his performances, but this just might give me shivers for a different reason. I'm all in because Josh is the lead though. Love him more than any actor I've enjoyed.
Sheesh.
Is fringe worth watching
I wonder Chirstan Grey rejected his role
I LOVE Joshua Jackson!!!
@@winegums3211 Fringe was a lot of fun to watch!
Joshua Jackson is such a great actor. Brilliant acting.
Where can I watch it
Normally I dont watch shows like this, but I was a victim of a doctor like this, Dr. James Makker in Oregon, just seeing this reminds me of everything before he lost his license in the state of oregon, and he fled to somewhere else.
Joshua Jackson will deliver. He's an incredible actor
The podcast was fantastic, I'm a retired nurse so I really enjoyed it. Hope the TV adaptation does it justice!
Just popped in to say nurses are heroes we don't deserve
It does. You are a hero
@@peacockPeacock your my hero

Finished watching it today. This is horrifying to know it was based on real events. The direction, acting, screenplay everything was just amazing and gripping! Great work team 👍

Looks like another show for Doctor Mike to react to in the future.
this is based on a true story
Even more interesting to see his reaction, then! I wonder how well known this case is among doctors, and whether he’s heard of it before or not.
@@ellamcmakin7831 based on the trailer showing him on the cover of a big magazine, Id have to think this story is pretty well known.
Hopefully in another legal eagle collab!
He's probably gonna need to see another doctor after seeing it
The fact that they were going to hire Jamie Dornan over Joshua Jackson is just laughable. Josh was born for this role.
I’m beyond happy they didn’t pick him!!
What's scary is the fact they let this guy go for soo long
He treated his patients like a mechanic
Its definitely him but the like one doctor said the system is broken.
My heart goes out to his patients n the families ❤🙏🙏😭
1:08 "All due respect Dr. Kirby you don't understand the law!"
1:13 "You don't understand who we're after!"
Watching this before I get surgery on my back, however, the doctor performing on me has done it before many many many times each year with excellent results. (I can fully confirm because my dad works there and knows the doc and sees him perform)
How did it go?
Joshua Jackson looks amazing in this this! So underrated and deserves to be more successful
I work for an endocrinologist in DFW and my manager told me she worked for Dr Kirby when this was happening and I was in awe. In Texas that man is a hero
Where can I watch it
i don’t get squeamish very easily but the hammering and twisting sounds in the scenes make me shudder, like nails down a chalkboard, or a shovel dragged over concrete.
Whats more amazing is how far this guy got before being stopped. Christopher Duntsch
Ahh can’t wait to watch this. Living in Dallas, listening to this podcast was a trip
My neurologist actually knew him. They worked at Baylor around the same time 😬
@@kittensmitten4015 that’s wild! Does he say anything about him?
@@amandakay0429 no, I jokingly asked, not expecting a yes. So when he did say yes, I honestly felt bad for asking and could tell he was uncomfortable so I dropped it.
Joshua Jackson is such an amazing actor 👏 no matter the film or show you love him now we all have the change to love to hate him ...... I can't wait to see his skills super excited
Me too!
This podcast had me screaming while listening to it in my car. **shivers** It was frightening. Very curious to see this.
Podcast is available on the npr app.
Three Days In Dallas | 1
My mom is a doctor in Dallas, I remember talking to her about this surgeon after I came across the podcast
What did she have to say about it?
@@wellthissucks112 She basically talked about how she remembered that happening and how disgusting it was
Just finished binging this- phenomenal casting & acting. It’s exactly how I pictured all the people when listening to the podcast.
I'm a Family Physician and Hospitalist, and this happens more often than you think; there are sadly plenty of incompetent Dr Deaths still operating out there.
I knew it! =( Please report them all!
He was going to do my brothers back but he ended up with Dr.Kirby
Oh how our Pacey has grown up
Look like a charlie to me
Peter from Fringe.
I loved Pacy
The only reason to watch Dawson. Man I miss Fringe
@@ratthawks hope he and John noble reunite for a project.
I was not impressed with the first Peacock original I watched but I binge-watched this one and it was quite well done. Super creepy and Jackson, Slater-what a great cast!
Great actors looks awesome I may have changed my mine on back surgery thou🤣
There's just something about Joshua Jackson and dramatic violin music that just give me the chills.
Just finished watching series and recommended it. His face will haunt me through the rest of my life!
I started listening to the podcast after watching this trailer not knowing the story - now after listening to the 6 episodes in like one day I can’t wait to watch the show!
I just watched the eight episodes back to back lol
What’s the name of the podcast?
I had a herniated disc 2 years ago and I got a epidural injection instead of a surgery... this trailer kind of brings the pain back
Beyond proud of the editing team on this .. Ryan, Dave, Liz and Cyndi are amazing ..
I saw a screening of this yesterday at Tribeca Film Festival and Joshua Jackson does a great job playing this character along with Hubert Point Du-Jour who is an amazing stage actor. It's definitely scary and worth watching.
Glad Joshua Jackson got such a role.
Listened to the podcast on this one, it is really unbelievable.
The name of the Podcast please.
Please podcast reference
Well, if there was one thing that could entice me to sign up for Peacock, I think this would be it.
Joshua Jackson is AMAZING!!
Finally! Something I’ll hand peacock my money for.
i watched him on the news before while he was undergoing court proceedings. already freaked me out before seeing this trailer
The casting for this! *chefs kiss*
Peter Bishop, Mr. Robot, and Jack Donaghy!
I'm sold!
Amazing series with brilliant actors! It has scared me more than horrors.
Where can I watch it
This might seem off topic but I think that AnnaSophia Robb would make a great Clarice Starling
Lol just had that type of lower back surgery. Glad I found this afterwards 😂
Probably the best series I watched this year.. I just finished it, and I'm still under the impression, I thoroughly enjoyed every single moment of it.. Outstanding acting and such a captivating (and horrifying) story, just wooow.. Amazingly done!!
Where can I watch it
After seeing Joshua Jackson in When They See Us, I knew he was talented. After seeing this, I'm convinced he's able to play the charming sociopath a la Patrick Bateman. Can't wait.
Wait is that all you saw him in? He’s been in so much and has been so talented in everything he does.
You should watch Fringe the episodes are available on Amazon. You should also check him out in the show The Affair
@@NRQ-zv5bp Are there still people around you haven’t seen fringe and esp the Affair I literally do not know anyone who has not seen the affair
Pacey! 🥰 I’m definitely going to watch this for him and listen to the Podcast. It’s scary ‘Doctors’ like this actually exist.
I love Joshua, saw him first in Fringe. This idea is amazing, and the trailer looks great, hopefully the actual series blows away the trailer and gives us a great show. I dont want to be let down for such a great idea.
Now that's a TRAILER!
What an amazing show. Thank you for creating and sharing it with the world.
Watching this show gave me back pain
Watched the 1st show on Sunday last week and I am hooked. Love Josh and remember him from Dawson Creek years ago. He is an amazing actor! I am going to love this series . It a horrible thing but it also has me hooked at the same time. It's based on a true story. Hope I dont' have to have an operation in the near future. If i was scared before I would be more scared now. lol...
Looks great; I’d like to know where it streams internationally
This was a fantastic show, please tell me you'll do new seasons with other real life Dr. Deaths, at least a season 2 like the podcast?
Joshua Jackson. That’s all. Beam me up Scotty.
Pacey Witter in Doctor Scrubs? I think I had this same dream once, in the 90s.
Actually he was cast in Grey's Anatomy in 2008, but the role was cancelled due to the Writers Strike.
Amazing cast! 🤩 This will be my first time seeing Joshua Jackson since Fringe ended.
u should try "the affair"
@@luciwilliam8784 With an IMDb score of 7.9/10, I should look into this. Let me finish retrieving the old episodes of The X-Files and I'll get to that.
He's either the most incompetent surgeon I've ever crossed paths with or he's a sociopath.
Why not both?
The show, through the eight episodes, puts the pieces together. He was incompetent but, most importantly, a man with a serious personality disorder!
I work in the OR with a surgeon who did their residency with him. It's gonna be crazy watching this knowing what they should actually be doing in the OR
It was outstanding bravo. The mind of a sociopath.
This podcast was everything!!!! And terrifying
Soo many people in medical field let this guy go n I'm so glad they got him
I know people who work in the field n have gone through n dealt with medical law suits
That do not even compare to this guy .
Joshua was great.
Whole cast was great.
The trailer gives me goosebumps...
baldwin and slater vs. joshua jackson, who would have ever thought?
I wonder if this will be offered for free or with Peacock premium for $4.99/month.

Just finished watching this show. Absolutely fantastic
What is the name of the podcast everyone is talking about??
I watched this ( episode ) on ID...... freaking cruel! I feel bad for all the patients who trusted him to help fix their issues.
Looks awesome. Have loved him since Fringe!
I'm 15 minutes into the first episode of this and I'm just like wow. Ive been to both of these hospitals several times and I'm just like wow. I bet this guy was at least IN the building while I was there. I am not quite sure if he's truly profoundly incompetent OR deliberately harming these people either or. Hes GOT to be the biggest quack to have ever practiced " medicine" I dont even wanna give him that.
I can’t wait when does it come out and will it be weekly episodes or all the episodes at once
At once
It's Josh so I'm going to watch it.
This looks amazing. Very promising. Can't wait!
It was so interesting following the podcast can’t wait to watch this
Loving the really dark vibes of this trailer. Gonna watch this for sure.
I listened to the podcast series on this and wowee I’m excited to watch

This is perfect casting
Such gooseflesh all over...!!! And this monster is real, somebody’s son. His father must be heartbroken.

When i first heard about this show, I didn't know it was a true story. This is horribly frightening.
