The punching and whip looks a little wonky, but I'm excited. I'm hoping it's as good as Uncharted or Tomb Raider, but keep the essence of the original content.
I'm just happy that all those people were miraculous cured of their first person shooter inflicted motion sickness the minute this game was announced for PS5.
I love games that aren’t too fast-paced, ones that are a bit more thoughtful, with good stealth mechanics, and I really enjoy exploration. I think it’ll be perfect for me.
I'm sure Uncharted will shit on this. Uncharted basically copied lots from Indy films into their games, so the fact that this game feels nothing like an Uncharted game is a huge red flag for me.

The bottom line is Machine Games has earned my trust until they do something to lose it. Something tells me they aren't half-assing this release.

If it was an Uncharted/Tomb Raider game, then people would complain that it's just a re-skin of those games. People need to critique something for what it is, not what they assumed or wanted it to be.

Been an Indiana Jones fan as long as I can remember. Although I’m cautiously hopeful for the game as a whole, I cannot be more happy to know the respect MG has payed to this franchise. This will be a niche, fanfare game which doesn’t appeal to everyone. But that’s ok. I can tell it’s made for Indy fans, and it makes me more and more exited to explore the game. PS As an ‘Indy Simulator’, the most important factor is a heartfelt and genuine story. Hope they pull it off.
I'm a big fan of Machine Games. I think they're a very capable studio. Often overlooked but they have always delivered excellent quality every time. Their only negative blip was Wolfenstein Youngblood. But it looks like they've nailed this Indiana Jones game.
Management pushed for terrible games like Youngblood and Redfall, completely abandoning the strengths of the studios. At least Machine Games got the chance to release a quality game like Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, unlike Arkane Austin that never got a chance at a redemption arc.
Loved watching this preview. I had to rewind the museum parts just to look at the amazing flooring again. Crazy I know, but it's gorgeous for a video game.

1st person Tomb Raider? Indy is like The Blues Brothers in that he’s on a mission from G. So he has a little extra luck and his punches gain a little extra steam, in the movies this was punctuated with a very special, very unique punch sound effect. It had a bass-hit, a sound of a boxer hitting a side of meat and the sound of a slap all at once, the craziest and heaviest punch sound in any movie. Does the game remember this? It’s as distinctive and unique as Dirty Harry’s .44 Magnum sound effect was before EVERYONE stole it. But no one stole Indy’s punch sound. It’s very special and probably belongs in a museum🤓

The more I learn about this the more I'm looking forward to it too, that's heaps good it's coming to both Xbox and PlayStation, thank you heaps for covering this, gosh I've been waiting so long for a decent Indy game, troy baker does such phenomenal voice acting work and does the part really well, I love the exploration, combat and whip mechanics with what ive seen, very happy with what I've seen so far, I'm impressed, I'll more than likely get a physical copy for myself on the PlayStation and one for my besty who has an Xbox, it's awesome its available for both formats 😊

Thanks for the preview Colt. I'll be honest, you definitely don't seem convinced and I tend to agree. Presentation is gorgeous but I was personally hoping for a 3rd person action/adventure for Indy as opposed to a first-person immersive-sim. I actually prefer first-person games but in the case of Indy, it just had to be third-person imo. I'll still check it out on Gamepass.

It already looked super clunky and boring...but no ADS, yeah, that's a hard pass for me. The term "simulator" is just an excuse to skimp on the budget and limit our expectations.
Indiana Jones is the adventure gold standard. I doubt we'll get another Harrison ford movie but i'm glad they didn't end with Crystal Skull and that video games can pick up the torch.

Doesn't mean that third person doesn't work (tomb raider and uncharted being clear descendants of indiana jones). It's viable in it's own way but it leads to different gameplay and world building. Like in third person, notes on a wall can't ever really be observed by just looking in their direction, you have to walk up to them and than press X or whatever so it pops up in your inventory as something to read, instead of seemlessly just reading something that is hanging on a wall. I also think if the game went third person, there would be a way higher expectation of it being like tomb raider or uncharted and honestly I'm done with shooting people up and it was always one of the weakest aspects of tomb raider and uncharted (essentually being a mass murderer for the sake of adventure).

I remember people losing their shit when cdproject revealed that cyberpunk would be first person, unlike witcher 3. And honestlyy, both games COULD work from either perspective (there are third person mods for cyberpunk) and a first person mode for witcher 3 would probably be super janky but incredibly cool and immersive (ugly swamp hags would probably make me poop my pants in first person.) It feels so great that Mahine Games stuck with ID tech .... most of UE 4/5 (realistic games) .... look like mods to each other ..... + unreal engine has so many artifacts on screen which only a few studios know how to fix ... but ID TECH is so clean and well optimized ! .. can't w8 !

I have loved Indiana Jones since I was a little kid went into McDonald's and they were actually selling the bhs's and special cups and I remember my grandmother bought them for me. I was hooked. Then I got to play my first NES game. Then years later I got older and I found out there was one for the Xbox. I cannot wait to play this game. Yeah I know I'm 40. I'm old but I don't care
@@uribak9144 I don’t see how a motion sickness-inducing perspective can be considered “realistic,” especially when it makes the character feel like they have arms sprouting from their chest and an inability to turn their neck. For me, it’s far from immersive. What’s the point of playing as Indy if you can’t see Indy in his iconic outfit, performing his signature moves? One huge missed opportunity would have been to see his clothes deteriorate throughout the adventure-just like in the movies.
makes no sense to have FPV standard, it should be a choice what view you prefer, first person is lazy development and a reason for me to pass on this one. VR would be a better way to play this one.

A lot of Machine Games developers are former or ex Chronicle of Riddick developers.. They are still there presently. So the influence can be seen..

I loved the thief series, so I'm excited.
I have loved Indiana Jones since I was a little kid went into McDonald's and they were actually selling the bhs's and special cups and I remember my grandmother bought them for me. I was hooked. Then I got to play my first NES game. Then years later I got older and I found out there was one for the Xbox. I cannot wait to play this game. Yeah I know I'm 40. I'm old but I don't care

Indy first person doesn't make sense. They were onto something switching to 3rd during whip jumps.
First person is always more realistic and puts more into the atmosphere, I wish all games were in first person.

@@uribak9144 I don’t see how a motion sickness-inducing perspective can be considered “realistic,” especially when it makes the character feel like they have arms sprouting from their chest and an inability to turn their neck. For me, it’s far from immersive. What’s the point of playing as Indy if you can’t see Indy in his iconic outfit, performing his signature moves? One huge missed opportunity would have been to see his clothes deteriorate throughout the adventure-just like in the movies.

makes no sense to have FPV standard, it should be a choice what view you prefer, first person is lazy development and a reason for me to pass on this one. VR would be a better way to play this one.
