How Great Thou Art on hammered dulcimer

For my students: an example of how to embellish a song, by using your knowledge of chords. For this particular hymn, How Great Thou Art, you could play play a couple of verses in D, then, for the last verse, transpose it up to G to add energy to the song. In this video, for the sake of time, I have played one verse in D before moving it up to G, and added a tag at the end. Another thing to keep in mind: be aware which hand is playing the melody. In my arrangement, it changes, so I make sure that my non-melody hand has a lighter touch so that the melody always stands out a little bit. (The squeak of my chair at the end is in the key of G!)
