As someone who really enjoys your videos and is also a professional artist I just wanted to give you a tip take it or leave it it doesn't matter. One of the things that I have learned over my many years of creating art is to go in with my lightest color first and build up to my darkest because you cannot put light over dark effectively with colored pencils. I hope that this helps you in some future project.

Thanks for the tip! You are a professional artist who enjoys my videos. Wow, thanks for letting me know that! ☺️
In this video, I went with what I felt to do. I usually apply the lightest color first, but for some reason, I did not do that for most of the elements in this illustration.
I am not a professional artist; I am just coloring and learning as I go. So, I do appreciate your professional eyes and tips. 🙏🏽😊

Love this video, but now that you have Staedtler Design Journey, which I love ❤️. You might like to purchase the Stabilo Original, also German made. I can unreservedly recommend.

I have these set in a tin and I love them. Very vibrant colours and I enjoy using them in Small Victories by Johanna Basford....Perfect pencils for getting in small spaces! Am new to your channel and really enjoy it. Best wishes from here in the UK. X

Hi, Linda!! These are excellent pencils, some of my favorites! I like to use them in JB's books; I haven't colored too much in the Small Victories book, though. I'll add that one to my coloring plans for March.
Welcome to my channel, and I am glad you enjoy it!! Have a wonderful day, and happy coloring!! 🌻🌻🌻

I love Staedtler. You should try the water soluble tinted graphite (12) and also if you can find their Luna Watercolour pencils (48), both are highly pigmented.

@EvelynColors I love them . I love Ergosoft, but they are no sold in the UK, however these are as good as the former pencils I mentioned. Plus, they have the Design Journey Super Soft in a 24 pack. I shall have to put my Grandchildren to work!!! 😀

If you want to get rid of the copy grey line on your xeroxed pages when you put the book on the copy machine put a bright white paper under the page you are coloring so that it is coming out of the sides of the bottom of the paper when you copy and it will print without that grey copy line on your page.

I tried the 72 set of design journey sold on Amazon in the tin. They looked identical to these in terms of the individual pencils, also said made in Germany. Although the pencils themselves were beautiful. They leads were hard as hell, and when I tried to swatch them I and color with them I could not get any pigment out or f them, I colored as hard as I could and no color was going on the paper. They certainly did not look like the pigment coming out of these which look very bright. Wonder what the hell happened and did I get a bunk set or what.

    • @EvelynColors
      @EvelynColors  11 месяцев назад

Wow, thanks for sharing! They are on the hard side, but I don't have to press down too hard. I color lightly and keep layering lightly, which helps with building up the color without having to push too hard.
For my swatches, I used medium pressure, which helped, and I sharpened them too. I also find they work best when sharp. They are not waxy.
I didn't buy these from Amazon, nor did they come in the tin. I purchased mine from Office Depot. Don't know if that makes a difference or not.
I have some other pencils (Noris colour) that I bought in the tin from Amazon, and I also purchased a set of 12 from Office Depot (before buying the ones in the tin), and I detected a difference. The reason I bought them is because I liked them, but after I ordered the ones from Amazon, I don't know what happened because they do feel different.
I appreciate you chiming in and sharing your experience!! 🙏🏽

@@nywf1824 I was thinking the same too!
The Design Journey is a dream imo. If you’re a prismacolor lover you might very well find these hard. If you like Polychromos, Pablos, Stabilo, even the Faber-Castell classics in the red tins or boxes. Then you will love these!
I’m of the latter type and love these for tiny areas.

@user-iv9mg2jj3e The video is enhanced for clarity, but no additional color grading is used to fool anyone.
I film my videos using a Canon DSLR camera and good lighting, which is better than filming on a cell phone, so, of course, the video quality is better, which makes for greater clarity for the viewer.
I have no affiliation with Staedtler. I am just some random *black-handed woman* sharing *budget-friendly coloring pencils* on RUclips.
Why would I try to deceive anyone? I have nothing to gain. And yes, my hands *are loaded with melanin;* thank you for noticing!
