It appears you are building from scratch a power unit similar to pre/post war Lionel steamer drive. Motor in truck which is what the old steamers did also with spur gears. Lionel created a frame of the drive wheels and an AC motor. The big difference you are using a DC can motor. Are you planning on powering more than one axle? Most all my 027 engines are custom modified twin motors with all wheels driving having modified aluminum frames and weighted magna traction in different forms.😊😊😊
