I have a strong interest in the time frame of 1900 to 1945--all things Pre War. Love to collect, restore and scratch build or kit-bash std gauge in the tinplate fashion. 99% of the time--what ever you see on the layout will be time related to the P:re War trains and that era.

I think it has become absolutely great and it runs beautifully. A nice addition to the fleet! Looking forward to follow your next project, your videos are very inspiring and interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Just a reminder to all the puller users I encounter. A little oil on the threads makes the tool work more efficiently and last longer with less effort. Great video. I never thought to put a pin in a puller like that.
Awesome job, looks amazing! You made the right call on the paint. I turned a Lionel 803 Pullman into a Lehigh Valley DD-1.
Do you have a video of the DD1?? I've been rolling that idea over in my head for some time---
Cool tool. With O Gauge, I've had good luck using opposing flathead screwdrivers.
They be lookin downright great.
Impressive.
Do you make your own rubber stamps?
I design what I want or find graphics out on the net and send it to a company I do business with and the make the stamp.
The signs are metal and are station signs. Lionel made both PreWar and PostWar. They are reproductions.
@@stevendouglas6594 ok thank you, very good looking trolley, I love the custom builds you do. Keep up the great work
Gear ratio seems to be just right!
I think it is 11 to 1
Runs at a realistic speed
Looks GREAT! Love your projects!
How did the baking the paint jobs work out for you?
It works well.
The trolley is looking awesome, but that Hiawatha is amazingly sweet. 😎👍
Your patience will produce a wonderful trolley. I enjoy your videos.... thank you ! 👍
Too bad about the paint problems. Really annoying when things like that happen. But luckily it looks perfect again. The Hiawatha is impressive indeed!
Yes, I think the second time came out even better and the first time was a keeper. When the paint went south the first time it almost became a Texas Clock tower moment. 😮
Here is a tip that has worked for me. If you want to try it. After painting a metal train I put the model in a oven, set at 250 degrees for a half hour and the paint comes out dry to the touch. I use a toaster oven in my work shop.
I'll have to give that a try----I have a dehydrator I put mine in but it only gets to 175 and has an air flow
Beautiful paint job! I'm glad you went with orange, as these Kingsbury's often were originally. Really enjoying this project.
Yes, this was orange when I bought it. They also made a double truck floor trolley I'd like to lay may hands on and power it. Both in the same orange colors.
Looks great;I use Rust-Oleum Sunset Yellow over gray primer and after a few light coats I have complete color saturation with almost no orange peel
I'll remember that---I almost picked that color up . This orange is great--I've used it a number of times--the Kingsbury was painted the same orange back in the 30's , so it's not out of character.
Yes the orange is good too!
You're doing a fantastic job on the trolley. 👍 What is the scale ?
Standard gauge --that's bigger than 1 gauge---2 1/4 inches between the rails.
Awesome looking, I'm sure you'll pick a nice color.
I'm thinking orange ---don't want the extra work with the yellow
🎃👍
Thank you Steven for your posts. I'm 83 years young & I still play with TRAINS! I love the mods you do.
I'm glad---it keeps me busy.
Happy Halloween and I like seeing the progress on the Kingsbury trolley.
Runs great !
Dog food and Campbell Soup . . . is it beef and barley? Asking for a friend. 🤣 Looking awesome!
@johnknippenberg-LandmarkYards When you live on a limited income, Campbell's Soup and barley and beef dog chow is a God send . 😋😋
Dremels are a model builder's best friend! Thanks for sharing this solid alternative for drilling. Great result.
Awesome idea, looks perfect.
Fantastic job
Almost there!
Reminds me of the birneys iv drivin in Dallas and Fort smith
@MJC19 I spend time in Fort Smith from time to time. I've seen the trolley you speak of at the museum. They've got a nice steam engine also. The military cemetery is outstanding, and I've been there around Christmas when they decorate all the Graves. I'll be at the Fort Smith symphony next Saturday. It's a nice little town.
@@stevendouglas6594 currently I'm working on getting the open air car No.9 up and running, birney 224 is being retired for birney 205. Car 50 is still running but can only run the Northern side, can't make the curve past the station library
A level, how can, you be sure? You`re always telling us how the State is going downhill.
@plunkervillerr1529 Illinois is in the sewer. The state I've created is not. We attended to business and pay our bills. LOL
Looking great!
i can't what for paint
@@PopPopsTrainRoom Most likely orange with black highlights and a black trolley pole.
Wow
It is coming along great. Really enjoy this project! I believe these Kingsbury trolleys were orange original? Are you going for that look or just a different color?
Yes--I'm thinking orange with black highlights
You are a Toy Train engineer.Good job
Looking forward to some cooler weather, even cold weather at this stage. Those 100° days were awful. But that's an awesome looking trolley! 💯
Good designing on that.
Another approach I've seen for large-scale models of a similar size is to recreate the motor mount of a full-size trolley, with nose-hung traction motors (sized to fit between the wheelsets parallel to the axle) engaging a 'bull gear' on the axle. One end of the motor mount sits on the wheelset axle (in the photo I found, brass strip was wrapped around the motor and the outer end shaped to cup atop the axle), the other end hooks over the truck bolster. Of course with a single-truck streetcar this half of the mounting would be on some sort of frame extension.
Beautiful! One of my dream prewar engines for sure
@twiconnor643 Othe than the eunit, which sticks once in a while, it runs well.
Marx guy here, You be SHUCKIN and a GROOVIN.
Looking good keep up the good work.
Everything is coming along
It's coming along, looking great.
Looks awesome, very cool.
Great looking trolley car. Nice new project!
That's cool Steven
That truck turned out great. Respect on how you build this thing completly from scratch. Why exactly would the passenger car need two of these or why would the motor burn out? Is it too heavy? Looking forward to see what you'll build for it, but actually I like this setup as well: who else has a motorized and armed gondola? 😂
Yes, the passenger car is much to heavy---it can pull it but it's a struggle to get it to speed---two would handle it just fine. In time you'd just burn the motor up or wear out the gears or both. 😯
Impressive!
Great vidio, make a good base for a goose car. Thanks for the morning coffee...
LOL----I've re-did it a number of times since the video--BUT----I may be at the final version.
Nice Steven!
It appears you are building from scratch a power unit similar to pre/post war Lionel steamer drive. Motor in truck which is what the old steamers did also with spur gears. Lionel created a frame of the drive wheels and an AC motor. The big difference you are using a DC can motor. Are you planning on powering more than one axle? Most all my 027 engines are custom modified twin motors with all wheels driving having modified aluminum frames and weighted magna traction in different forms.😊😊😊
