I have a strong interest in the time frame of 1900 to 1945--all things Pre War. Love to collect, restore and scratch build or kit-bash std gauge in the tinplate fashion. 99% of the time--what ever you see on the layout will be time related to the P:re War trains and that era.

Nice find! That car will make a great looking interurban indeed! Hope you'll start with it soon but I'm aware on how many project you allready work on 😂 Like the goose as well. Interesting to follow that build. No clue about the trolley motors though...
I am confused what do you mean when you say empire?
I'm just being satirical and it's a term I used while I was in the Navy MANY years ago---At that time I was serving the Empire--Th US Military.
Legendary absolutely amazing!
Up would and on would!
Standard gauge are toys in the purest sense, imagine a young kid opening a box at Christmas and how they felt getting one of these, thanks for sharing
Me Pappy done once told me, " Beware of Things that go Bump in the Night". GOD BLESS.
Verry nice. I strung up a line of those white low volt Christmas lights across my ceiling so that when I turn off the regular lights it gives a darkened effect, but lots of light to see everything on the railroad layout (more like a bright full moon night).
That sounds like a good idea.
Very cool, lighting the way. 😎👍
😀
Those springs remind me of old movie projectors our elementary school had for showing movies back in the day. I have 2-1918 trench knives and a 1942 Kabar.
Yes, the springs are very much like the old school projectors springs.
I gotta ask: why is there a cowcatcher on the rear?
Short lines often had tenders with a cow catcher because they often times didn't have a Y or a turn table and ran pulling freight backwards as much as forward so they put a light and cow catcher on the tender.
Incredible!
A nice rememberance thanks
A Happy and Peaceful! Memorial Day to All My fellow Veterans.
Well done, thank you.
New subscriber, I am a collector of standard gauge based in the UK, love your content
There are some great Std Gauge Face Book pages you might enjoy--The Great Standard Gauge Toy Trains Group is one of many.
Can't wait to see your Standard Gauge giraffe car, I love running my O Gauge ones. Great video!
Made by a master indeed!
Marx guy here, A true work of art. As a painter would sign his portrait, why didn`t its creature give us a little Who, What, When, and Where.
Yes, I've posted it in some of my FB collectors groups, hoping maybe somebody might recognize the work.
Sweet tender, awesome find. Like you say, highly professional craftsmanship.
That tender turned out just perfect. If you had not mentioned the red paint flaw nobody noticed it lol. Stamps look absolutely great. And I love that brave little 0-4-0 with matching cars.
Take a look at the one I just got and posted ----built by a master.
You should start your own manufacturer for tinplate trains.
LOL---I'm not that good.---Really, I should do a small video on why it would be a losing business ---if you take the time just to tally up the parts you used and the cars you bought for the project --just the parts, not your time--no one would pay you what you need to just break even. If you look at the video I did on the Hill climber ---the body, the power truck and the trolley pole---just those three-----right at 300 bucks just to get that far---then we need headlights, light bulbs --you get the idea.
Marx guy here, some beautiful tin on the roll. That storm hit N.H. at 5:00 PM and raised Hell for over two hours. All night long, the Pond Frogs were singing "My Old Kentucky Home".
The storms went north and south of me, but the better part of the day was winds in the 40 to 50 mph. They had to close north and south bound 55 due to blowing dust. I didn't get a drop of rain, and my frogs are singing that old gospel tune ---- It be dryer than a popcorn fart .
Interesting, for me something new. Regards. Ryszard Szarokk.
Running very smoothly
Looks great 👍🏼
Easy way to make an authentic tinplate coal load is to take thin sheet tin, place it on top of thick rubber, and pound it indiscriminately with the round end of a ball peen hammer. Turn it over and you'll have a very genuine looking coal load. Love what you're doing there, hope to meet you at York one of these days. By the way, where do you find your rubber stamps? They're really nice!
I make my own stamps----I find a design or a logo on line, copy it and then go here-----www.rubberstamps.net/index.aspx load the design on the size of stamp I think will work and they engrave it----those two stamps I showed were ordered last Monday , I got them Thursday --after I did this video I did a little practice stamping ---liked what I saw and finished one side---I'll do the other side when the ink drys in a day or two--sometimes it drys in an hour or two--other times a day or two---I think it has a lot to do with the weather . 🙂
@@stevendouglas6594 thanks for the info! Much appreciated.
The tender is looking great! Thanks for the update.
She`s taking shape nicely. Don`t let the hobby burn you out, at that stage it ceases to be enjoyable. My dog Randy gives me advice, with a hound the nose knows.
I have no dog, but tell Randy thanks---it's times like this I seek advice from the girls in the local truck stop---they've never failed me yet. 😯
Awesome run, very enjoyable. Thanks!
Great video again. Nice to see the stamps you had made. Edit: Had some questions about it but just later found your stamping 101 videos LOL. Very interesting!
Never paint----rubber stamping ink like Lionel and Ives used back in the day---I use the brand-- Speedball Oil-Based Block Printing Ink---you'll find it on Amazon--comes in a number of different colors. You use a gas plate, a dab of ink, an ink roller or razor blade to spread the ink thin, load the stamp and press it where you want it. Make vey sure your new paint is cured---a week maybe---I've done it as soon as 3 or 4 days but that's taking one hell of a chance. If you screw up, you can wipe the ink off with a micro fiber cloth--I only use micro fiber ---damp with mineral spirts and re-stamp. If the paint is cured, you can screw up a couple of times in the same spot , but if you keep wiping it off you'll soon lose the luster in that spot---I think I've screwed up at least 3 times in the same spot before I got it right with no ill effects. Never let the ink dry, MS will not take it off once dry, and I use a small saucer with MS in it to put the stamps in after I'm done to clean off the ink. I use a soft tooth brush to clean the stamps to get any ink build up off the stamp--once again--don't let the ink dry on the stamp.
@@stevendouglas6594 Thank you for the further explanation advice and warnings. I appreciate it a lot. Planning to try this myself once as I realy like the results. Would work on restaming Lionels as well. I'll be on the lookout for the Speedball Oil based block printing ink (or similar as possible it has a different brandname over here in Europe).
Really fun video ! Nice paint job on the slope back tender.
Marx guy here, " FOR JOY, FOR JOY", you gotta love it. I`ve always wanted an Old Dutch Cleanser Box Car. Do you know of any manufacture of stickers or wraparounds?
I have not ---if there was such a thing I'd think it would be found in all the stuff they sell to make doll houses ---
I am all of the above. My methodolgies adjusted and changed over 50 years. Teisco to Les Paul to Squier. Bought what the gig needed - even bass & classical. Grow up. Yay capitalism, cultural exploitation, and the highest standard of livi g in the world.
Every thing is looking and running well .Great job. I enjoy your videos.
Thank you for sharing your toys with us!
Great job on your Tender. Yeah wobble happens when the pushrods on the wheels are exactly 180 degrees out of phase from each other. Slightly less than 180 would fix it. But why bother, she looks good.👍
Nice work as always.
EYE POPING, that`s my main interest, and you`ve got that covered. At 76, at the end each day I count my marbles, fearing their loss..
As always, You rebuilds look so factory, And, Greetings from 'HO' scale guy, My new nickname.
Great project dreams. I have many train projects 'in progress'. Nice One Gauge. Glad your oil is good.
Run that Goose,it is cool! 😎
I've got a vid of it running just after I built it----about 6 months back

Some interesting projects to come. I stay tuned (and somehow I feel like having a beer).
It's a guy thing--but I never drink until I'm done for the day---my hands shake bad enough as it is--no bee until I'm off the clock.
With great work, comes great fun. Nice!
The end result just turned out perfect. Everything falls into place as it should. Clever solution with the roof, looks beautiful as it is. And the rubber stamping looks great and sharp (as sharp as the hillclimber's metal I understand). I realy enjoyed following this project.
LOL. There's a lot of blood in this project.
Marx guy here, you be a master at the hobby, me man. Deep pockets and cheap, that`s some combo.
The Scottish genes run deep---LOL---I didn't retire at 52 by maxing out my credit card--I'm 74 now. 🙂🙂
Interesting use of a drill for wheel painting. Looking awesome! 😎👍
The drill works like a charm
The hill climber looks and runs great. Nice job.
Those run silky smooth! Illinois is unfortunately one of those states I do my best to avoid.
Very cool trolleys, they look amazing.
